The Symbol of Tyranny

So... He's finally emerged. Looks like the Ottawans really kicked the hornets nest hard. Nice work. The Overlord looked on at the air battle from a ridge, his armor tattered and his filtration systems on the verge of failing. 

They have to beat him... I couldn't do it... Ghost you have stop him. He will bring about the ruin of all of us. No... They don't know he exists yet... I HAVE TO WARN THEM! 

The Overlord hops in his dune buddy and races towards Ottawa. However, as he drives, the Symbol of Tyranny follows him. 

WELL! IF IT ISN'T THE OVERLORD OF OTTAWA! PLEASURE TO SEE YOU AGAIN! 

GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!

The Overlord swerves the dune buggy away from the blast attack. As he jumps a nuclear ash dune, he makes eye contact with the Cryptid and drops the buggy into fourth gear, blaring his horn. 

GET DOWN! GET DOWN NOW!

GET DOWN! 

The Cryptid intercepts the Symbol of Tyranny and the Overlord swerves in front of his friends.

So this is what you were running to.

The Cryptid wastes no time in slamming the Symbol of Tyranny into the ground. 

We need to run! He's strong Ghost!

Everyone! Assist the air forces in breaching the bunker. Tempest, Overlord, help me drive this asshole into whatever hole he crawled out of. 

BWAHAHA! This will be hard for us both! 

The Cryptid enters his wendigo form and begins his battle with the Symbol of Tyranny. As the others begin moving away from that battle, the Overlord looks at Tempest and the Cryptid, he squeezes his fist.

WE NEED ALL THE HEROES RIGHT NOW! HE WILL KILL YOU TWO! GET THE OTHERS!

Tempest nods and calls in the others. The Cryptid is flung to the ground. So, you do fear me. How the Mighty Overlord has fallen so far. 

Stow it. He's been out here alone for five years, I plan on bringing him home, regardless of the fight ahead of me... I WILL STOP YOU! 

Aye his, that golden heart of the Cryptid, Ghost of Ottawa. I have no intentions of letting any of you return home. Tempest was right to summon the other heroes... SO YOU CAN ALL MEET THE SAME FATE!

As the others crest the ash, they are met by the Symbol of Tyranny blasting them with a full powered attack. 

He... Has... Abilities?

Yes Cryptid. I am the first Meta-Human. I will obliterate you, and the others you call friends. I'm not sure where you've been hiding for the last five years, but thanks to the military industrial complex, humanity has finally evolved, evolved far beyond even what you can do. 

The three still standing turn to see their friends laid out. Armor broken and severely damaged. The Demon King and former King of Ashfeld rush to help the other heroes. 

LADY JUNO! THEIR ARMOR HAS BEEN BREACHED! WHAT DO WE DO? 

ADMINISTER THE ANTI-RAD! WE NEED TO GET THEM INTO A SEALED FACILITY NOW! 

I'm afraid that's not going to happen.... BECAUSE I AM HERE!

LIBERTY BELL! CONSTITUTION! WE NEED HELP!!!

The two Automatons approach the man, opening fire their arsenals, trying to buy the heroes time to get their injured friends to safety. 

Juno... we can...

The conversation is cut short as Constitution explodes into pieces as the Symbol of Tyranny punches through her. 

Such a weak machine.

Dear god.....

The Symbol of Tyranny floats above them, then lunges at Juno. I THINK IT'S TIME YOU GET OFF MY BATTLEFIELD!

The Cryptid intercepts him yet again.

JUNO! GET THEM OUT OF HERE! HURRY!

YOU.... YOU'RE IN MY WAY!

The Symbol of Tyranny unleashes a fury of attacks at the Cryptid. The Cryptid keeps him from reaching Juno and the others. The Overlord jumps on the Symbol's head and stabs him in the eye. 

YOU WILL NOT BE THEIR END! 

AAHAHA! SUCH COURAGE! BUT WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN I OBLITERATE ALL OF YOU!?!?

A shockwave leaves the Symbol of Tyranny and levels the area. The Cryptid takes the blast head on, but is thrown away from the fight. The once nuclear ruined D.C is now nothing but crumbs in the wake of this mad man. A single attack blew away everyone, blew apart all of the crumbling building and cleared the battlefield. 

Well now... That's not something you see everyday.

The horrified heroes look to what the Symbol of Tyranny is pointing at. The Cryptid had taken the full hit head on, shielding them from oblivion, and was still standing... barely. 

Your will is commendable Cryptid, but in terms of raw power, I dwarf all of you. Up till this very moment, you've had to fight foes that didn't have powers nor abilities. You ruled over them thanks to that Cryptid rebirth, yet I'm impressed you're still standing. 

Y-you madman..... I will always stand in your way. The Cryptid vomits up blood.

There is that unbreakable willpower. I see why you all cower behind him now. He is your symbol... The Symbol of Perseverance. That's what you are... Cryptid of Ottawa. 

The Overlord looks at his friend. The dark crimson blood dripping from his mouth as he'd saved his friends but at what cost...

However... Strength of will shall only get you so far. The Symbol of Tyranny lines up another attack at the Cryptid of Ottawa, who braces for the impact. However, the Overlord jumps at the Symbol of Tyranny, drawing his attention away.

FOOLISH WORM!

As the Symbol of Tyranny unleashed the attack at the Overlord, the Cryptid jumped into action, sinking his teeth through the Symbol's left arm, biting it clean off. As the ash settles once more. Pat is laying in the torn apart ruins of his armor. His CBRN mask is still intact keeping him from inhaling radioactive dust. 

Well now... If it wasn't for your friend... I'd have obliterated you. Instead I lost an arm today... What an amusing turn of events. 

The Symbol begins regenerating his missing limb to which the Cryptid unleashes his full might at him. Ripping chunks of flesh away from the man, as Pat slowly gets to his feet.

PAT! GET EVERYONE ELSE OUT OF HERE! I'll REGROUP WITH YOU ALL! GO! RUN AWAY NOW!

Juno waves to him as they begin making the retreat to Ottawa.

I WILL NOT LET YOU ESCAPE HERE ALIVE!

YOU'RE WRONG! BECAUSE I AM HERE... TO STOP YOU!

The Cryptid thrown him over his shoulder and slams him into the ground.

This is Lux! We have eliminated the residents of the Presidential Bunker.

Fortune smiles upon us today, even if just for a moment. ALL FORCES RETREAT AT ONCE! BREAKNECK SPEED BACK HOME! 

CRYPTID! YOU CAN'T BE HIM!

NOT TODAY I CAN'T! I'LL HOLD HIM OFF TILL YOU GET FAR FROM HERE! PAT WE ALL WANT YOU HOME ONCE AGAIN! GO! HURRY! I'VE GOT HIM!

Pat finally gives in and joins the convoy. 

NO! YOU WILL NOT LEAVE HERE!

WRONG AGAIN! I may not have the strength today, but I shall return to up an end to you, once and for all... Symbol of Tyranny. You're right, I have no abilities of my own... BUT THAT'S WHY I WILL RETURN STONGER THAN YOU!
