Wyonna Sinclair is a down-and-out, ex-rich girl who was forced to marry the unconscious Shane Muller. Everyone waited for a good show but who would have guessed that both of them embarked on a romantic love story ... Shane woke up and fell in love with Wyonna at first sight when their relationship is limited to a contract partner... And whatever happens, Shane only cares to spoil Wyonna in his life.
Wynonna heaved a sigh of relief as she knew she was safe for now, but that would only be temporary.
There was another thing that felt strange to her. Since he obviously knew that she'd spiked his milk with sleeping pills and wanted to knock him out with a stun gun, why didn't he punish her?
She had just heard him order the cleaning lady to be thrown to the sharks, so why was he so easy on her?
Also, if he was not really blind, he would have seen her face already. But he was still searching for the woman who had forced herself on him. That meant he did not recognize her at all.
If he did not keep her to take revenge by tormenting her, then why did he want her to stay?
Wynonna pondered hard and finally reached an epiphany. It must be because she had rejected his grandparents' offer to stay, so he wanted to show her who was in charge. That was typical of a tyrannical boss.
If she were to act like those lovestruck women and throw herself at him, maybe he would become annoyed and send her away.
So, Wynonna changed Shane's pajama shirt as usual before bedtime that night.
After that, she looked at his pants and coyly said, "Mr. Muller, may I change your pants?"
Shane caught a flicker of light in her eyes and knew she had something up her sleeve, so he calmly said, "Since you're so eager, go ahead."
Wynonna had expected him to call her shameless and throw her out. Instead, he agreed so readily that she could not worm her way out.
She could only bite the bullet, and she took her time to remove his black dress pants. She was about to put on his pajamas pants when she heard Shane's emotionless voice from over her head. "While you're at it, why don't you change my underpants too?"
"Your... your underpants?" Wynonna's face reddened, and she almost choked on her saliva.
"Hmm? What's the matter? Didn't you wish to change them for me?" Shane watched her embarrassment with satisfaction.
"I... Let's forget about it." Wynonna closed her eyes in defeat. "I'll let you do it yourself," she said and quickly ran out.
Shane smirked as he watched her quickly flee. She would not dare to play tricks on him anymore.
Hiding in the bathroom, Wynonna looked at herself in the mirror and hit her red face.
She could not take it lying down. Why has Shane seen through my tricks so easily?
she wondered.
She took a deep breath and very quickly thought of another idea.
The next morning, after feeding Shane his breakfast, Wynonna used her mouth to feed him his medicinal herbs as she usually did.
She would normally wear a pained expression, wishing that it to be over soon. But that morning, she took her sweet time with each mouthful.
She continued to hold her mouth to his long after Shane had already swallowed the medicinal soup. She even tried to French kiss him... She did not believe that he would not have noticed her intentions. Come on, push me away and order me to take my things and leave! thought Wynonna.
But no matter how long she waited, Shane never pushed her away. Instead, his hand held the back of her head, and he started kissing her.
Drawing in this young girl's sweet, fresh breath, Shane half-closed his long and narrow eyes and watched her embarrassment with satisfaction.
He had finished all his medicine and felt only her sweetness. Suddenly, he felt how good it would be to taste such sweetness without having to swallow medicine.
However, all he liked was her taste. He did not feel anything toward her.
He hated women. He would never ever love a woman.
...
"Let... let go of me!" Wynonna shouted, her eyes bulging in fear as Shane sucked all her oxygen out till her mind was unable to think.
Things were not happening as she had imagined.
"Isn't this what you wanted?" Shane said, almost mockingly.
Wynonna did not know whether to laugh or cry. It finally dawned on her that throwing herself into his arms would not cause him to hate her. Instead, it was the reverse.
If that was the case, she would have to do something else to make him hate her.
So, while Shane was taking his bath, Wynonna slipped out to look for Uncle Ben and asked, "Uncle Ben, what does Mr. Muller hate the most?"
Uncle Ben's guard went up immediately. He asked, "Ms. Sinclair, why do you want to know?"
Usually, when women want to please Mr. Muller, shouldn't they ask what he likes instead, thought Uncle Ben.
That was when Wynonna realized that she had phrased her question incorrectly. She quickly explained herself. "You see, what I mean is I need to know what he dislikes so that I can avoid doing those things. Only then will he like me."
"Oh, I see," said Uncle Ben, nodding his head. He paused, thought for a while, and said, "Mr. Muller is very particular about cleanliness and hates having his things touched by others. He hates the smell of fish and so doesn't eat fish..." Wynonna listened very carefully and took note of all of Shane's likes and dislikes on her cell phone.
When Uncle Ben saw her taking notes, he smiled like an uncle would at his niece. It seems like Ms. Sinclair's relationship with Mr. Muller must be getting better because only when you love someone deeply would you note down what he likes, Uncle Ben thought.
Unknown to him was that Wynonna had no love for Shane, only a lot of hate.
Wynonna returned to their bedroom just as Shane finished his bath. He called out in his low, masculine voice, "Come and help me out of the bathroom."
"Coming," answered Wynonna while walking to the bathroom.
While helping Shane out of the bathroom, Wynonna "accidentally" slipped and knocked over a vase.
There was a loud crash and broken pieces flew everywhere.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to knock over the vase," said Wynonna. While apologizing, she stepped back and "accidentally" knocked over a bottle of collector's edition red wine that was on a cabinet.
There was another loud crash, and red wine dyed the pure white plush rug red.
The room became quiet. Shane's face darkened, his temples throbbing... Just when Wynonna thought he would explode in anger, he simply said, "Get someone to throw these things out."
Why doesn't he throw me out? thought Wynonna, feeling disappointed.
Uncle Ben quickly brought some servants to clean up. Several voices gasped at the sight of the broken pieces.
He had paid 12 million dollars for that antique vase at an auction! And that bottle of red wine was a hundred-year-old vintage red wine bought at a winery from another country. It was not something you could buy even if you had the money... If a servant were to accidentally touch these while cleaning the room, Mr. Muller would fly into a rage. But Wynonna could still stand there without getting into trouble after breaking them.
No wonder some people say that you become brazen when you are loved, he thought.
Wynonna certainly was brazen. She kept testing his limits. At lunch, while feeding Shane, she secretly added a piece of fish onto his spoon, covered it with rice, and brought it to his mouth.
Shane did not notice what she had done and swallowed that spoonful. His face changed immediately. He gritted his teeth and asked, "What did you just feed me?"
...
"What?" Wynonna pretended to be flustered and looked down at her own bowl. She apologized, "I'm sorry. I was eating too while feeding you and I accidentally took what was from my plate and put it in your mouth..."
Shane's frown grew deeper, and his chest heaved up and down. It felt as if a storm was brewing.
That's it! There's no need to keep it all in! thought Wynonna, her heart in full anticipation that he would soon explode in anger.
But after a while had passed, he only spoke in a cold voice as he ordered her, "Help me over to brush my teeth!"
"Oh, alright," Wynonna said in defeat. She helped him over to the sink, squeezed toothpaste on his toothbrush, and filled his cup with water.
Her brain was tired. If she still could not provoke him after all of this, then she had run out of tricks.
"Mr. Muller, look at me, I am so clumsy. Why don't you... get someone else to care for you?"
She decided to make a last attempt to test him while he brushed his teeth.
"Precisely because you're so clumsy, you need more practice and learn how to wait on me," said Shane. He put down his toothbrush, calmly glanced at her, and his gaze slowly deepened. "In order for you to not make the same mistake again, you must be punished. How should I punish you today?"
"Mr. Muller, I was at fault," said Wynonna, sensing danger from his gaze. She took a few steps back.
The next moment, a long arm reached over and pinned her down on the washbasin.
He then lowered his head toward her and said, "I shall punish you then... I want you to get rid of the taste in my mouth."
"What?" Wynonna's eyes widened in terror.
Shane had meant to punish her, so her mouth hurt. She finally understood what was meant by if you don't play with fire you will not die.
She let out a sigh. She would not create trouble again; she'd be good.
However, Wynonna did not expect a sudden opportunity when she had decided to give up... That night, Wynonna got up to use the bathroom. Groggily, she walked back to bed.
Before she got there, suddenly a shadow appeared in front of the window!
"Who ... Who is there?" Wynonna asked in a low voice. All her drowsiness was gone.
In the dim moonlight, she saw that it was a muscular man with a fierce face holding a black pistol in his hand, reflecting the cold light.
That man heard her voice and immediately turned his head toward her with a murderous look in his eyes.
Wynonna staggered back in shock. In her panic, an idea flashed across her mind, and she said in a low voice, "My guess is... you are here to kill Shane Muller, am I right? Do whatever you need to. I won't stop you. To be honest, he bought me, so I'm not here of my own free will. I want him dead, too!"
Shane Muller had so many enemies. This killer must have been sent by one of them who had decided to assassinate him while he was supposedly blind.
Wynonna suddenly felt inspired. If this damned Shane Muller were dead, wouldn't she be free?
But that killer obviously thought otherwise. To him, killing people was the same as cutting vegetables. It did not matter whether he killed one or two.
Hence he raised his pistol and aimed it at Wynonna.
Then, suddenly, there was a movement from the bed. Shane had been startled awake. The killer heard the sound and his eyes quickly darted toward the bed and he pointed his pistol that way in a flash.
Almost at the same time, Shane whipped out a pistol from under his pillow, and both of them pulled the trigger simultaneously.
