It didn't take long for Alan to show up. Wyonna stood around, disinterested, listening to Eugene telling Alan about what happened to her. "I don't know what's wrong with her today. Not handing in her assignment and telling me to call you just for that.
Better tell Mr. Muller to see what's wrong with her when you got back."
"Sure, sure. Thank you, Mr. Paterson," Alan replied.
Wyonna then added, "Mr. Paterson, you've missed something. Not only did I not hand in my assignment, but I was dozing in class, and I was late as well."
She deliberately made it sound more serious. She wasn't about to believe that Shane would just leave her alone after Alan reported all of that to him.
Eugene was completely taken aback, wondering why a student would actually want to do so such a thing instead of letting the matter slide.
