When Both Parties Are Willing

Tong Yi's disbelieving eyes followed Lu Zhanbei's movements until the man's figure disappeared through the door.

He's leaving just like that?

Is he really leaving, just like that?

After being stunned for a moment, Tong Yi chased after him. Watching his back, she shouted, "Lu Zhanbei."

The man did not stop walking.

Tong Yi quickly chased after him and blocked his path. "I called out to you, didn't you hear me?"

Lu Zhanbei's deep eyes glanced downstairs, then very quickly, his gaze moved to Tong Yi's exquisite and beautiful face. His bland lips lifted slightly as he replied. "I heard you."

Tong Yi frowned. "You ignored me when you heard me?"

"What's up?"

'I heard you? What's up?'

'Is this human language?'

Although confessing was a game requirement, she had to muster up the courage to say it. How could he have such a nonchalant reaction?

"Don't you think you should say something in response?"

Lu Zhanbei looked at Tong Yi deeply. "Are you sure you want to talk here?"

Tong Yi did not get the implied meaning in his words. "Yes."

The earlier she completed the mission, the earlier she could save Lu Zhanbei and leave this place.

"What do you want me to say?" he asked.

Tong Yi was left speechless. 

'Doesn't he know what a guy should say when a woman confesses to him?

'If he agrees to it, he should say, "I like you too."

'If he rejects her, he should say, "I'm sorry, I don't like you."

'How could he not know something as simple as this?

'Forget it, this question was not important. It was better to get straight to the point.' 

"Are you willing to get engaged to me?"

Lu Zhanbei's gaze darkened instantly.

He kept looking at her without saying a word, and Tong Yi's heart was beating like a drum. Finally, she saw his Adam's apple move, and he said in a deep voice, "A marriage can only happen when both parties are willing..."

After a pause, he added, "Or do you like to force people into it?"

Tong Yi did not quite understand his words. She wanted to ask him again but he had already walked past her.

Tong Yi turned around to chase after him but when she saw what was happening downstairs, she froze.

She was in a hurry to get an answer from Lu Zhanbei and hadn't paid any attention to her surroundings. She didn't expect her conversation with Lu Zhanbei to be exposed to everyone.

All the guests downstairs looked at her. There was shock, mockery, and disdain in their eyes.

As Lu Zhanbei left, a commotion broke out downstairs.

"What's wrong with this world? Women are openly seducing men."

"I was wondering why the wedding was canceled. I didn't know there was such an inside story."

"She's too shameless. She actually seduced her fiancé's brother."

"What's wrong with that? She's not a good person to begin with. She's used to having fun."

"However, I admire her for having the courage to provoke Lu Zhanbei, the King of Hell."

"Sister Yi, let's go." Someone tugged at her. Tong Yi turned around. Ling Rui had appeared by her side.

When Ling Rui saw that Tong Yi was not budging, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "You're not angry because of their gossiping, are you?"

Tong Yi shook her head. "Let's go."

This was just a game, so there was no need for her to care about the petty opinions of these people. She was only momentarily stunned by this scene.

She suddenly thought of Lu Zhanbei's sentence, "Are you sure you want to say it here?"

So he knew that they were the center of attention?

After coming out of the hotel, Ling Rui seemed to have taken a stimulant, chattering as he drove.

"I saved you because I like you.

"Are you willing to get engaged to me?

"Sister Yi, you're too bold today!"

"Can you give me some peace?" Tong Yi looked at Ling Rui, her head ached from what had just transpired.
