Chapter 226: Savage Lands (3) *Unedited*

[Third Person's PoV] 

"What tribe are they from? I don't think I've ever seen one as strange as these" Shanna said looking at them weirdly, especially at Spider-Man and how easily he seems to be carrying that carcass. 

"They're not from a tribe, they're from the outside world" Ka-Zar informed her as he looked towards the Spider-Man, "You can see it down now" 

Which Spider-Man did and it made a large thud as it hit the ground. 

Shanna looked taken aback, "What? They're from there?" Shanna then looked at them even weirder as she asked, "Then what's with the ridiculous outfits? Is this the modern trend up there?"

"No, we're merely superheroes," Firestar said, puffing her chest proudly. 

Both Ka-Zar and Shanna stared at them before Shanna looked towards Ka-Zar, "What weird people did you bring into our home?"

"I've been wondering that myself for a while, but I don't believe they're lying, they possess unnatural strength" Ka-Zar said, 

Shanna looked at the carcass then at Spider-Man and the rest before muttering, 'I see," She then proceeded to ask, "If you are superheroes as you claim to be and are from the world above what could possess you to come here?"

"Mostly an adventure, we've learned that this world is much bigger, with a lot more secrets than we initially thought and decided to explore it, this became one of our stops. When we got here, he attacked us, and wandered around since" Spider-Man said. 

Shanna nodded as she gained the gist of the situation. 

"I've been wondering, where are you two from?" Spider-Kat asked, "I get the feeling that you two aren't just people that were born here, are you two stuck here or something?"

Shanna smiled at the question and shook her head, "Well I actually used to be a veterinarian from the outside world. I became bored with my everyday life, I just couldn't keep living in such a monotone way and watched to escape from society. So I went on a trip, ended in Antarctica and ended up here, where I was away from the confines of society and was… Free" 

They then turned towards Ka-Zar as they were also curious. Seeing their curiosity Ka-Zar remained silent for a few seconds before Scarlet-Spider said, "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to, we're just being nosey–" 

"It was my father that found this land…" Ka-Zar began and as he did, Shanna went inside to acquire some tools. 

"He was a nobleman and scientist from England, he had done some research that led him to the discovery of this place, however some people had found out about the research and began to chase after him, he brought me here, to keep ourselves safe. Unfortunately when we arrived we ran into a tribe of Man-Ape… 

They Murdered my father and just went they were about to kill me off as well, Zabu appeared and saved my life and I've been with him ever since. I even got the name Ka-Zar… Which means Son of Tiger in English" Ka-Zar said with a look reminiscent of when he was just a small boy. 

"We're sorry for your loss… We shouldn't have asked" Ghost-Spider said awkwardly, expressing her condolences. 

The others doing the same, Ka-Zar shook his head telling them not to worry about it. Just then Shanna appeared with a knife and walked towards the Carcass that Spider-Man and the others walked. 

"Are you going to skin it?" Firestar asked, looking a bit warily. 

Shanna who was motioning to kneel, slowly turned to look at Firestar, "No we're going to eat it with the entire skin… What do you think?" Shanna said sarcastically. 

Ka-Zar was walking towards Shanna to join her and help her as he said, "Don't mind that one, she's a bit… Slow" 

They all felt a sudden wave of heat radiating from Firestar making Ka-Zar and Shanna looked towards her direction in shock. 

Firestar let out a small growl as she glared towards Ka-Zar. Nightwing immediately intervened and hugged her to calm her down, not minding the heat in the slightest, "It's alright, he didn't mean anything bad by it…" 

"But… He called me dumb… That's twice now, if that Jungle Man calls me anything related to dumb one more time…" Firestar muttered, lowering her heat. 

As Nightwing calmed Firestar down, Spider-Man cracked his knuckles by intertwining his fingers, "Actually could you let me do this part?" he asked, looking towards Shanna and Ka-Zar. 

"You want to skin it?" Shanna asked with a raised eyebrow looking at Spider-Man weirdly, "I would have thought since you're from that part of the world you wouldn't want to get your hands dirty?"

"Well, I'm always getting my hands dirty anyways and it would be ten times faster if I did it" Spider-Man said walking towards the carcass. 

Shanna and Ka-Zar looked towards each other before they shrugged, Shanna flipped the knife in her hands and presented towards Spider-Man. 

Spider-Man held out his hand and shook his head, which only confused Shanna even more. 

Spider-Man pressed his hands together before they were surrounded by his chi, he spread his hands two rather large daggers appeared.

Which surprised Shanna and Ka-Zar but they had a look of interest as they went and stood with the others watching curiously. 

The digital eyes on his mask closed showing that he had also closed his eyes and was concentrating. 

Shanna heard Ghost-Spider let out a tired sigh, so she went and asked, "What is he doing?" 

"What he likes to do best, show off," Ghost-Spider said in annoyance. 

They then heard Spider-Man take a deep breath before the eyes snapped open, "ORAAAAAA!" He suddenly shouted as his arm became a blur and he made a long cut along the best. 

"Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora!" Spider-Man kept repeating as he skinned the entire carcass of the best. 

To Shanna, Ka-Zar, and Zabu's astonishment Spider-Man's figure became a blur as he rapidly moved. 

A large chopped monstrous chicken head appeared laid to the side, next the actual skin of the beast was laid out on the ground as a blanket. 

"Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora!" Spider-Man continued until all of the organs were neatly arranged and laid out on one side of the skin blanket. 

"Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! ORA!" Spider-Man said finishing with a large 'ora' as he finished organizing all the laid down all the meat nicely like a well seasoned butcher. 

A digital sweat appeared at the side of Spider-Man's mask which he pretended to wipe with the back of his hands, "Pheeeew" 

Everyone just stared at him in silence, which was broken by the sound of Shanna clapping her hands as if she was just watching a street performance. 

Spider-Man began to bow exaggeratedly and repeatedly, his chi-daggers dissipating. "Thank you, Thank you~ I'll be here all night" 

"You'll be joining us for lunch, right?" Shanna asked with a raised eyebrow. 

The others looked at each other before shrugging.

Everyone sat in a circle by a large rock, in front of them were meat on sticks sitting real close to the fires. 

"We're going to eat meat with cavemens, this is amazing~" Nightwing muttered excitedly, everyone had seen cartoons when they were little where cavemen sat down and had a large piece of meat on bone, Nightwing was excited to actually try it. 

"We're not cavemen," Shanna said as she grabbed a large piece of meat, added her own personal spices and passed them along. 

"Oh right by bad" Nightwing said apologetically, "Caveman AND Cavewoman" 

"The gender wasn't the issue…" Shanna said, rolling her eyes.

"But…" Spider-Kat said, grabbing a piece of meat and looking towards their living quarters, which was a cave covered by leaves. 

Shanna scoffed, "We're still not cavemen, the ones most fitting for the names are the Man Ape tribe. They're your typically bruteish, club wielding, stereotypical caveman" 

Everyone then had a piece of well done cooked meat, even Firestar who was at first apprehensive was holding a piece of her own. 

Spider-Man's mask shifted over so that it would only reveal the bottom half of his face, while Ghost-Spider grabbed her mask and lifted it to her nose so her mouth was exposed. 

They all took a bite and immediately juices squirted right out from it, the meat practically slid off the bone, steam rising from where they bit it. The blow as they chewed due to how hot it was but they soon melted due to the taste. 

"Oh my god" Firestar said as she dug in, "Why is this so good?!" 

Shanna looked proud, "That's because of the sauce and spices, it's an original blend using ingredients from this place. I'm glad you all seem to like it" 

As they all happily contained themselves, Ghost-Spider asked curiously, "You guys mentioned the Man-Ape tribes but what other kinds of tribes are there here?" 

"We can't really say…" Ka-Zar said shaking his head, "The Savage land is a very large space that is home to many different kinds of races and tribes so there isn't a specific number to give you" 

"For example" Ka-Zar continued, "There are Swampmen that live in the swamp region of the Savage Lands, there are Zebra people, people with wings and feathers that appear like angels, a tribe of beings that appear to be a mix of man and pterodactyls, the list goes on and on…" Ka-Zar finished explaining giving them a run down, while they gulfed down all of that food like Savages themselves.
