They split up into two cars; Rachael and Gabriel stay in a different car from Elena.
Staying with her would not be a good idea, especially for Elena.
Elena drives Samuel, Elma and Bryan in her car as they follow behind Gabriel and the rest of the group.
Silence is the name of the game in the car.
Bryan is happy to be silent as anything can put Samuel off since he failed to keep Rachael safe, the vampire is happy to keep himself away from Samuel's spotlight.
Elena is scared and does not know what to do.
She has never been left alone with vampire comrades.
It's not something she thought she would never do until today.
And since she saw Gabriel's healing stunt, she suspects that these twins are no ordinary vampires.
Elma just observes Samuel, anticipating his next move.
She knows he did not agree to this because he likes Elena but the opposite.
She smiles to herself, "Are you scared, human?" Elma asks Elena, "Scared? Of what?".
"Us,".
"My family and I have been killing your kind for a long time.
I cannot be scared of any of you," Elena says before glancing at Samuel who sits beside her.
Samuel pulls out his canteen and takes a sip from it; he puts it back and leans against the window.
"Really? I like a strong woman," Elma says.
Elena reads a weird vibe from Elma, "I don't swing that way and even if I did it wouldn't be with a vampire," she says.
"How would you know? You've never been with one.
A vampire has many years of experience and five times the stamina," Elma says, "Really?" Elena asks.
"Yes, interested?" Elma grins, "No, like I said I don't swing that way,".
"So you shot Rachael," Samuel suddenly says.
"How do you plan to redeem yourself?" he asks.
"What are you saying? It was a mistake.
She stepped in front of that vampire and got hit," "So, the bullet was meant for my brother then.
But you suck so bad that you shot your cousin," "Fuck you. A fucking monster like you has no right to tell me this.
You have killed more people than you can count," Elena fights.
"Of course, I am a monster after all and I know that, but you are a monster too.
It's just sad that you don't know," he says.
"How dare you?" Elena is hurt and angry; who does this vampire think he is?
"Your victim, the innocent girl you almost killed is the only reason you are still breathing," he says, "Wait, how come she didn't die?" Elma asks.
"I don't know. I wasn't there when she shot Rachael," Samuel says.
Elena stiffens her jaw in anger.
"So tell us human, how did you fail to kill your cousin?" Elma taunts Elena with her question.
Elena is frustrated; she hasn't even made it to their location and she is already fed up with their attitude towards her.
Is Rachael that important to these monsters?
She is a traitor for having such affiliations with the undead.
"Come on shy human, tell us unless you prefer to keep listening to us talk about how you shot your cousin, "Elma says.
Elena is pissed off but Elma is right.
She doesn't want to keep listening to them taunt her about Rachael.
"That vampire healed her, his brother," she says.
Elma looks at Samuel, "You guys can do that?".
Samuel ignores her question, "He said some kind of spell then he kissed her,".
Samuel turns his head sharply to face Elena.
"He kissed her?" Elma asks and turns to look at Samuel's expression.
"Yes, are they dating?", if they are it could be perfect.
Elena can tell this to her family and Rachael will lose any credibility she has.
Samuel is surprised to hear about their kiss.
As far as he is concerned, a kiss isn't necessary to heal someone for a sphinx.
What is Gabriel up to?
Samuel clenches his fist.
Elma smiles as she watches Samuel, his reaction gives her enough information to know that there is a love triangle.
The only question is; does Rachael know about any of this?
"No, not yet" Elma answers Elena.
"But they have something going on, right?" Elena tries to get more information.
"We are going to find out," Samuel says.
Meanwhile in Gabriel's car.
"Look at what they did to you.
They deserve to be torn apart and scattered all over New York," Cassandra says as she checks John's bruises.
"Ouch, that one hurt" "Don't be a baby".
Rachael chuckles as she glances at them.
Rachael envies the couple.
She looks at Gabriel and smiles to herself.
"How do you feel?" Gabriel asks her.
"Confused. Before now my only family were my parents.
I can't believe that my mother's side of the family hunt vampires.
I know they didn't tell me for my safety but I still wish my parents told me about the Tremblays,".
Rachael sighs, "I'm just glad John is safe now,".
"I have to say, you've got balls girl" Cassandra says.
"You shouldn't have come," John says as he leans against the backseat.
"Don't listen to this old fool. You did well,".
"What do you think?" Rachael asks.
She looks at him with an adorable face that melts the sphinx heart.
"You did good but you are never doing that again".
"Thank you, for saving me" she says and kisses his cheek.
Gabriel's hard heart leaps with life as a smile appears on his face.
Cassandra smiles as she feels the energy in the car.
"How long have you two been dating?" Cassandra asks.
This question catches Rachael off guard and her heart almost jumps out of her chest.
She finds the twins attractive.
They have their respective charms but she has never thought as far as dating them before.
How would that work?
Who is she attracted to?
If she were to pick, would it be her savior?
She buries her head in her hands as she finds the thought of picking between the two men thrilling.
