Chapter 58

[Third Person's PoV]

Futarou believed that the magic lessons weren't that bad and were quite informative, at least to those who didn't know anything about magic.

After their magic lessons were over and all the teachers had shared their parts, Futarou's class, A-1, went forward to their next class, which appeared to be a regular old school class: History.

Upon entering another lecture hall, Futarou was quite surprised to see who their teacher was.

She was a tall, slender young woman with shoulder-length black hair and blue eyes. At first glance, one could immediately tell she wasn't Japanese.

[Name: Nico Robin] (Image)

[Rank: A]

[Ability: Blooming Flower]

[Description: A fugitive who had run away from Russia. With a large bounty on her head, she has chosen Japan as a hideout, posing as a teacher for the time being.]

Nico Robin was sitting at her desk with her chin resting on her hand, smiling sweetly at everyone. "Come and have a seat, everyone," she said with a charming smile.

'HELL YEAH!' Futarou thought as he made a silent prayer, thanking whichever entity sent him to this world.

Once they were all seated, Nico Robin introduced herself. "You may call me Ms. O-robi. I'm going to be teaching you about the time monsters came and slaughtered everyone to near extinction. Isn't that exciting?" She chuckled.

'Yes, Ma'am!' Futarou inwardly yelled excitedly, while everyone looked at her a bit awkwardly due to how she worded it.

"For today, I'm going to just speak. You can take notes if you want while I give you a brief summary of what we will be discussing and learning about in the upcoming year."

Once she saw that everyone was seated, she nodded her head and continued. "There are three ages known in Japan: the Bronze Age, the Silver Age, and the Golden Age. We are currently living in the Golden Age.

The Bronze Age was also known as Feudal Japan, where samurais and war were pretty common.

The Silver Age, which was a century ago, was a time when war wasn't so common. It was a time of relative peace, an age without monsters breathing down our necks trying to kill us all and end our pitiful existence."

Nico Robin then scanned the room, seeing that everyone was paying attention to what she was saying, and continued, "Now, the age we live in now is known as the Golden Age, an age of prosperity and opportunities, which came about after the Apocalyptic Era."

After talking about the ages, Nico Robin discussed the Apocalyptic Era. "There isn't much information about this time. The only information we have about it is the beginning of the clans and the heroes of that time, heroes who gave their lives fighting against the threat."

Seeing someone raising their hand, Robin nodded her head toward them. It was a boy Futarou hadn't seen before, someone who didn't have the chance to go up against Yami earlier in his test.

He was a skinny boy with black hair and eyes and big round glasses. He shifted his glasses up as he asked, "Why isn't there any information from that time?"

[Name: Yumiya Kensei]

[Rank: A]

[Ability: Magic Arrows]

[Description: An archer aiming to be a powerful hunter with the ability to summon mana arrows with different effects.]

Robin smiled as she explained, "Due to the constant monster attacks, most archives where information was stored were destroyed. So the only source of information about that time has been passed down orally. And words can be exaggerated and changed as they pass from one person to the next. We have more information about the end of the war and the formation of clans due to the stability they were able to acquire, thus being able to safely store information once again."

After Robin talked more and more about the old days, the time quickly passed, and the sound of the bell ringing indicated the end of the class.

With that, Robin waved them all goodbye, though Futarou was a bit reluctant to leave.

After History was regular Math, which was a snooze fest for Futarou, especially since it was just an old man teaching it. Futarou didn't even bother to appraise him.

After Math was a class named First Aid.

Upon entering, Futarou studied the teacher who was standing by the door of her classroom with her arms crossed.

She was a tall woman with a muscular figure and green hair. She wore a long white coat with white gloves.

[Name: Rose Usato]  (image)

[Rank: S]

[Ability: Luminous Restoration]

[Description: A woman who works directly under Tsunade and takes healing very seriously. She is very brutal with her students.]

As she led everyone inside, instead of a lecture hall, the room looked more like a lab with small operating tables and two seats each.

"Take a seat, everyone," she said with a voice full of authority. "Although most of you don't know healing magic, you should all at least know how to take care of wounds. You never know what you may encounter inside a dungeon. You may end up injured and separated from your healer, or you might run out of healing potions with no one to treat your wounds. This class will make sure you have that ability, even if I have to beat it into you."

"Huh?" most of the students said, unsure if they had heard her correctly, but she ignored them.

"Now, a show of hands. How many have the ability to heal themselves and others?"

Futarou raised his hand, alongside Puck and Orion, who raised their paws. Four other people apart from Futarou raised their hands.

Rose made an unpleasant expression. "That's less than what I was expecting," she said, shaking her head in disappointment.

"Apart from healing, I will also teach you how to get people to safety and get them to a place where they can receive the medical care they need. To start off, I will be teaching everyone how to properly wrap a bandage and disinfect wounds."

"Around your desk, you will find strong scissors. I want you all to cut yourselves and do it," Rose said with a smile.

Everyone slowly blinked and looked at her in confusion.

"Did I stutter?" she asked with a savage grin.

'I like her style,' Scáthach said to Futarou, who inwardly rolled his eyes.

'I'm not surprised. I bet if you two properly met, you would become best friends.'

Nino slammed her hands on the table as she stood up. "You can't possibly expect us to happily comply with those instructions."

"Listen here, little girl," Rose said, letting out a strong pressure. "My classroom, my rules. In order to heal people, you need to at least know what kind of pain they are going through. You will be thrown into a dungeon where your injuries will be much worse than this little paper cut of a scratch. So in order to learn how to heal, you need to know pain."

"So I won't repeat myself again," Rose said menacingly.

Futarou let out a sigh as he grabbed the scissors and stabbed his own hand...

"Ummm…" Futarou said as he slowly lifted the bent scissors.

This caused Rose's eyebrow to twitch. "Those were specialized scissors made to cut iron..."
