Chapter 57

[Third Person's PoV] 

"But I still haven't tested everyone. How else am I supposed to help them surpass their limits if I don't see what they can do?" Yami complained.

"Continue tomorrow for all I care. They have other classes to attend—why is she tied up?" Mereoleona asked, stopping midway and looking down at Darkness, who had a blush on her cheeks and a blissful expression.

"She weirded me out," Yami said plainly.

Mereoleona looked at Yami with a mixture of disgust and disappointment. Sensing where Darkness's bindings were coming from, Mereoleona turned to Futarou. "Get her out."

With a snap of his fingers, Darkness's bindings came undone. "No! Please!" Darkness started, giving Futarou a pleading look.

"See?" Yami motioned, but seeing Mereoleona's scary look, Yami turned toward the door and started walking away. "I have to take a dump. This class is over for today. Go and get changed."

Mostly everyone turned to Mereoleona for confirmation. Seeing her nod, they exited the room and went to get dressed back into their school uniforms.

"I'm sure all of you have received your schedules upon receiving your acceptance letters, so you should know that your next class after homeroom is Magic Lessons," Mereoleona explained.

Karma raised his hand to ask a question. Mereoleona nodded in acknowledgment. "I'm not a magic user. I can't use magic, but I still have magic lessons. Why is that?"

Mereoleona grinned widely, exposing her canines. "Just because you can't use magic doesn't mean you have nothing to gain from the lessons."

Mereoleona then started to lead them to their next class. "Upon learning the fundamentals of magic, you should be able to learn how to fight against it and counterattack."

Karma nodded in understanding as they arrived in front of a classroom with a sign that read, "Magic Study."

Before they went inside, Mereoleona turned to everyone. "This class is where all first-year students participate. As you should have guessed by now, your class is composed of the best of the best, from Rank A and upwards, which is why your class is known as A-1.

The other classes are B-1, consisting of those in Rank B, and C-1, consisting of those in Rank C, while class D-1 consist of Rank D-F. So just because you are in A-1 doesn't mean you get to look down on the other classes. If I see such a scene, I'll show you what it's like to be the little guy," Mereoleona said, pressuring them with her aura for a moment before stopping and leading them inside.

The inside of the class was almost the same as the homeroom, except that the lecture hall was larger with more seats.

Upon scanning the room, Futarou noticed that all the other classes were present and they were the last ones to arrive.

Seeing them enter, the students exploded into whispers.

"So those are the A class, they don't look like much to me."

"If I suck up to one of them, I would be set for life."

"Woah, the girls are absolutely beautiful…"

"The boys aren't bad looking either… the boy with the wings is exactly my type."

The chatter continued until Mereoleona amplified her voice with her magic.

"SILENCE!"

Everyone immediately stopped talking, intimidated by her booming voice and scary demeanor.

Futarou and the others then sat down as Mereoleona went toward the podium where other teachers sat waiting for her to join them.

As Mereoleona sat with them, one of the teachers stood up. She had well-endowed breasts and long blue hair, wearing a long off-white robe and a black hat resembling a typical witch's hat. She had a red gem on a chain around her forehead and golden cone-shaped shells covering her ears, along with clam shells on her breasts which exposed quite a bit of cleavage.

As she approached the podium, Orion let out a howl from Futarou's shoulders, causing her to stop and look towards him.

Seeing who was interrupting, Yamraiha didn't appear offended at all. She simply smiled and waved her hand towards Orion, causing his tail to wag. "Seriously, Orion," Futarou asked, noticing that everyone was now looking at him.

Orion put his head down, a bit embarrassed, and covered his eyes with both his paws. "Sorry, couldn't help it."

Yamraiha then cleared her throat to get everyone's attention and began to speak, "My name is Yamraiha. You may call me Professor Yamraiha, Ms. Yamraiha, or simply Professor. I will be your main instructor when it comes to teaching you the Fundamentals of Mana and the elements of water."

She then motioned to the other teachers beside her, "As I mainly focus on the elements of water, my fellow teachers will be here to teach about their specific elements. Our specialist in the way of fire Magic is Ms. Mereoleona."

Mereoleona leaned on her chair with one leg crossed over the other, lifting her hand slightly in greeting.

"Our specialist in the way of Wind Magic is Haruto Fujinami."

An Asian man with long green hair tied in a braid, wearing glasses and a classical three-piece outfit, nodded his head in greeting. Some of the girls had hearts in their eyes upon seeing him due to his good looks.

"And our specialist in the way of Earth Magic is Daichi Ishiguro."

He was a man with dark skin and short brown hair, wearing a sleeveless muscle shirt while holding an Egyptian-style cane.

Daichi put two fingers to his forehead in greeting. "Salām 'alaykum," he said with a cocky grin.

"Now, before we begin, does anyone have any questions?"

Miku raised her hand, "Yes?"

"What about those with uncommon magic attributes? Would we be able to learn much?"

Yamraiha smiled, "I'm glad you asked, as that question relates to what we'll be learning."

Yamraiha then walked back towards the giant chalkboard and created symbols related to the four elements. She then started to draw branches on each of them.

"Those with unorthodox magic attributes, like for example ice, lightning, sound, magma, or whatever it might be, don't have to worry about not learning much, as those magics are all built upon the four basic elements."

She then started to draw the symbol for Ice under water, the symbol of sound under Wind, the symbol of lightning under fire, and Magma under earth.

Futarou leaned over to Erza and whispered, "You are fucked. You use spatial magic, which doesn't belong to any of the four."

Erza snorted a bit upon hearing that and nudged him with her elbow, signaling him to shut up.
