Chapter 358 ( Your name is - I )

[Sister!] - [Yan Zhi] cried out in terror as she watched Shio's body slowly fall to the ground without knowing what to do.

As [Aragami], her ability to feel emotions was limited and only increased the more she evolved, but for the first time in her entire life, she experienced what true terror was, one that came from her and not from her instincts.

[Yan Zhi] quickly reached down to catch the girl, only to notice how the girl seemed to be in a state of sleep because she was unresponsive. A deep fury invaded her inner self as she felt her gaze turn completely crimson - [Gyo!]

* * * * *

"Way to go, motherfucker!" - roared the soldier in fury, only to shudder as he heard the piercing screech of the [Aragami] they had tried to kill - "Shit!"

Those present trembled when they heard the roar of the beast, but their expressions changed to one of terror when they heard an even greater roar - "ROAR!"

"We are dead" - muttered the soldier as he noticed how a huge silhouette stood in front of them. [Calamity] had arrived on the scene and from what they could see, he was furious.

". . ." - Sofia didn't know how to react when she saw how everything had unfolded. She was initially happy because they had managed to save many human lives, but things had changed in a matter of seconds, all thanks to human greed.

"Those idiots," muttered Lindow angrily. They had received the communiqué from the [God Eater] who wanted to kill [Yan Zhi], and had even said that it wasn't a good idea to go through with that plan, but human greed was too great and now their actions had come back to bite them in the ass.

Soma frowned with an impassive expression, but inside he was furious.

"Those monsters" - Sakuya said angrily, as she was the one who had seen everything from the scope of her [God Arc].

"ROAR!" - but everyone's expression changed to one of utter terror when they heard the roar of an imposing beast.

"Oh, shit" - said Lindow with a pale face, because there was only one entity that had such big lungs to be able to roar like that - "This is bad, very bad".

"And you know what's worse?" - Houki asked while frowning - "That there's nothing we can do to stop his fury".

Tatenashi said nothing , she just kept silent as she closed her eyes because she knew a massacre was about to begin.

"T-There's really nothing we can do?" - Sofia asked hopefully, only to sigh with regret when she noticed how everyone shook their heads.

"That little girl, she's important to Cloud," replied Houki as she shook her head, "I might even say she was his grounding cable, the only thing keeping him human during his transformation."

"What do you mean?" - Sophia asked with a frown.

"Think about it, if you were to go through such drastic changes, would you still consider yourself human?" - Soma asked while looking at the woman from [Fenrir: Central] - "Many may say things like 'No, I would still be the same', but that is wrong."

"The mere change in a person's appearance, can make a person's personality do a 180° turn, now imagine a transformation that amplifies all your instincts and reduces your morality" - replied Lindow while frowning - "Without anything that works as a grounding wire, Cloud would have transformed into a real beast"

Tatenashi and Houki said nothing, because they couldn't say that the [System] would help Cloud during this transformation, though they weren't sure to what extent the help would be useful either.

Lindow was about to say something else, but his expression changed when he heard a voice that shook the whole place.

"YOU!" - Cloud roared as his eyes flashed with malice - "DAMN WORM!"

"I LET YOU GO OUT OF MERE COMPASSION, AND YOU REPAY ME BY KILLING MY TRAVELING COMPANION?" - Cloud roared as a massive amount of black flames surrounded his body, showing just how furious he was.

"Can you speak!" - [God Eater] shouted in terror as he heard the beast's malicious voice.

"This is bad, that thing has the intellect comparable to that of an adult human" - said another [God Eater] as he trembled in fear.

The soldiers and [God Eater] who had managed to survive the massacre produced by the mission were now trembling with their minds blank, even the pilots did not know what to do in this situation.

[Yan Zhi] slowly approached her master with her head down while showing him what had happened to Shio.

Cloud could feel the hatred and fury that [Yan Zhi] was resisting, only to stare coldly at the humans - [Do you want to do it yourself?]

[I want revenge!] - [Yan Zhi] roared as her body glowed with a sapphire blue light.

[Fine, I'll let you take your revenge] - replied Cloud as he squinted his eyes and carefully took Shio's fragile body, not knowing whether she was alive or dead, after all, she was a special case.

[Thank you, my lord!] - exclaimed [Yan Zhi] as she spread her wings and prepared to attack. Her instincts were fueling the deep hatred she felt.

As an [Aragami], [Yan Zhi] had never experienced the warmth of a family, after all, the [Aragami] were a species that only sought to devour everything else to continue evolving.

[Yan Zhi] did not hesitate any longer, she quickly summoned all of her [Slaves] and ordered them to attack.

"We have to escape!" - [God Eater] exclaimed as he made his pilot react.

"OK! - exclaimed the pilot as he started to turn his helicopter around, only to notice everything turn red. That was the last thing he saw before the helicopter was consumed by flames.

"DO THEY REALLY THINK I'M GOING TO LET THEM GO THAT EASILY?" - Cloud roared as his red eyes glowed with malice.

"M-Monster!" - [God Eater] shouted in fear.

"AND YOU WERE THE ONE WHO AWAKE THIS MONSTER!" replied Cloud neutrally as he watched [Yan Zhi] destroy one helicopter after another.

"We have to escape in different directions!" - [God Eater] who had shot Shio exclaimed.

The helicopters quickly followed those instructions because it was the only way to survive in this situation.

Cloud found it amusing to watch those humans squirming around trying to survive, as if they still had any chance of escaping the place alive, too bad those hopes disappeared with Cloud's fire breath.

The [God Eater] who had managed to take down Shio, could only watch this in terror, only to notice how his helicopter had been surrounded by countless [Chi-You] - ". . ."

[Yan Zhi] slowly appeared in the midst of all her [slaves] as she carefully observed each of the humans inside the helicopter. She had managed to identify that this had been the point from where the bullet had been fired.

The survivors trembled with terror as they felt the [Aragami]'s presence up close, though some brave ones attacked the beast without a second thought, only to be torn apart by the sharp claws of the [slaves].

[Yan Zhi] rested her gaze on the body of the human holding what she recognised as a high-powered weapon, only to release a blue aura that reduced the helicopter's temperature.

"I knew it" - muttered the soldier as a sad smile appeared on his face - "I knew their actions would come to bite us in the ass."

Those present did not know what to say at the words of their comrade who had accepted his fate.

"Fuck it!" - roared the [God Eater] as he pointed towards [Yan Zhi] - "If I die, I'm taking [Calamity's] bitch with me!"

The [God Eater] had given up hope for survival, so he had decided to risk killing the beast in front of him.

[Yan Zhi] stood still as she gazed intently at the human in front of her. She was aware that those weapons were dangerous to her species because they were designed to be able to bypass his massive defenses.

"Are you afraid, monster?" - [God Eater] asked with a huge grin on his face as he took the passive attitude of the female-shaped monster as fear - "Then you shouldn't have crossed us humans!"

[Yan Zhi] stood still without moving a muscle as she glared boredly at the man, though this couldn't be noticed because she didn't have her eyes visible.

"Die!" - [God Eater] roared as he fired his [God Arc] with a huge grin on his face, only to notice as a [Yan Zhi] stepped in the way and blocked the attack.

[Yan Zhi] stayed where she was as she continued to silently watch the man, only to continue blocking the shots with her [Slaves] that seemed to have no end.

"Die at once!" - [God Eater] roared as he felt the energy begin to run out of him, but [Yan Zhi] continued without moving a muscle.

Those present could feel what the beast was trying to do. It was obvious that [Yan Zhi] was toying with them, she was slowly destroying their hopes of escape, and without moving an inch.
