Xue Tie and his army finish the preparations that they could on the hill. There was a limit of what they could do once the enemy forces got within sight. Nevertheless, Xue Tie is confident in his victory. Just the sheer amount of bullshit he has available makes him confident. And the more death that transpires around him, the more fuel he has for the rune of death. This fuel is the reason for Moghs tyrannical and blood ways during his original life in this world.

Xue Tie instead has it better. He can simply feed the rune his spirit power which he has…over the past 6 months. At least when he wasn't focused on his cultivation which is why most of his growth was through treasures. Due to his future plans, he didn't quite feel safe if the rune ran out of energy for any reason. Which is why he plans to save it for emergencies or if he encounters a divine being for any reason.

The uniform footsteps of the enemy soldiers can be easily heard as their full numbers are roughly 6 thousand. This is at least double his numbers but he is used to serving as the underdog in all his fights thus far.

(I don't think I listed how many soldiers he had when they embarked. And even if I did, the number grew once he assimilated the hidden forces that were used for infiltration)

The Star Luo army settles roughly 500ft away (~152 meters). Xue Tie at the forefront of his soldiers stares straight into the eyes of the lead commander for the Star Luo army. Dai Zi Bai, the aforementioned Uncle to the future Dai Mu Bai of the Shrek Seven Monsters. Granted Xue Tie isn't sure if the Star Luo emperor has impregnated his wife around this period or not as he has not spies there.

He knows that Dai Weisi is alive and well in the palace grounds. He also knows that Zhu Zhuyun is also alive and that the two had been betrothed to each other like canon but that is the limit of his knowledge and interest as both these figures are far too low on the priority scale unless his existence changes something. Not that he really cares since it will take at least 10-20 years before they make any waves and he has the confidence to reach hyper douluo by that time unless he can get his hands on a proper skull bone too as the 2 bones (190k bull leg bone and 230k frog arm) he has left may not be enough to jump him past the hyper douluo stage.

Dai Zi Bai steps forward and speaks out. "Empyrean King, in respect of your achievements, Star Luo shall be generous and spare your life. This is your only chance to retreat to your land. You shall pay reparations for your crime against the empire.

The newbies in Xue Tie's army shuffle a bit in wariness as they truly have no guts at all. Unfortunately Xue Tie himself has other plans. He speaks up and states.

"Do you hear this, my people? By Star Luo standards, a coward leads their army and seeks to avoid losses by demoralizing us. Unfortunately for them, we are EMPYREAN. Which means, we are the BEST. WE ARE THE ONES WHO SURVIVE AND TELL THE TALE OF OUR TRIUMPH. For we stop when we are satisfied, and I haven't felt satisfied yet. Run along now Dai Zi Bai, for only pain awaits you here.

Dai Zi Bai has a black and red face as his rage shows no sign of ending due to Xue Tie's words. The same can be said for the other commanders and many soldiers who have heard of Dai Zi Bai giving up on succession without even attempting to get it. This can be considered a cowardly act. Yet what nobody except the Dai clan know is that Dai Zi Bai was selected by their grandfather to serve as a pillar to the empire. As such, he shares a status equal to the emperor itself. He is the hidden trump card for the future but due to that, nobody knows the truth and can only see him as a coward.

Zi Bai grits his teeth in rage but he keeps a level head and begins to give out orders for a specific deployment which looks no different than the standard arrowhead formation. The three commanders confirm their strategy as the first formation of soldiers move forward. They all have some sort of beast-like martial spirit that provides a tough defense. A second formation follows behind them that provides a variety of different buffs for speed, health and defense. Their job is to test the enemy power and break their formation to allow their third formation that is also buffed by the 2nd formation to follow after the first.

The various beasts in the first formation charge forth and Xue Tie doesnt even need to give a command as hundreds of spirit masters line up and begin releasing unified spirit skills that have a ranged purpose. The bombardment and elemental attacks quickly weakens or injures the first formation but they keep going as they are not shy of any brutality, even to their own people.

The bombardment unit from the empyrean army retreats a bit to allow the melee combatants to step forward but that doesnt mean the ranged units cant do anything, they simply target the back end of the first formation or the front of the third who have weaker defenses but higher offensive abilities.

With the barrier unit from Xue Tie holding off the arrowhead formation. Xue Tie's people are weaker but Xia Wei's bond ability allows them to always know where gaps could open up and support each other. Xue Tie is also connected to them and serving as a battery which makes them immovable now. WIth the higher level abilities of Xia Wei. the bonded people can now freely transmit their aspects to others. So Xue Tie is also giving his ungodly defensive abilities to his soldiers and the fight is comparable to two shields smacking each other .With little penetrative power inside the Star Luo first formation, they hold little hope of breaking through.

The commanders start to get impatient from the lack of capacity in breaking through as well as anger from being the losing side in the exchange. These titled douluo can naturally sense the bond, at least the energy transmitted. Which is why they are angry that their king, Xue Tie, has joined in helping them. He is openly acknowledged as a Titled Douluo combatant but he is lowering himself to helping in normal fights.

The secondary fact that Xue Tie doesnt care about his energy expenditure when he surely has to face 3 titled douluo at the same time is another insult to Dai Zi Bai the others.

A white Tiger, Hell Civet and Starlight Spear manifest around them as they take up battle positions to confront Xue Tie.

He naturally can feel their overbearing energy and with a quick whistle from him, a second defensive unit steps forward. This group is a mix of attack and defense. They support the first defensive wall while also unleashing attacks that weaken or injure the enemy formation. With their backline being bombarded and their front being attacked. They quickly begin to weaken while Xue Tie begins to walk off to the side to not interfere in the soldiers' fight but it seems the three commanders don't care for their soldiers and begin to march forward.

Xue Tie raises and eyebrow and stops his side walk. He spreads his wings and rushes towards the enemy to limit the fight on their side of the battlefield.

BANG

A collision is made between Xue Tie and the White Tiger barrier. As a level 94 titled douluo on the verge of breaking through hyper douluo, Dai Zi Bai can afford to be arrogant. But against Xue Tie, he cant be confident.

Next chapter and maybe the chapter after that shall be primarily focused on Xue Tie's combat power so expect a long fight scene ahead
