4. Learning Skills

Once Blake entered the Fog Forest he did his best to memorize the dark trees that surrounded the entrance as to not get lost. He walked in a straight path and was met with a monster.

The monster was square in shape and had three sharp legs that it balanced on, it hobbled as it walked and as soon as it sensed Blake's arrival, it ran towards him.

Blake readied himself by hovering his hand over his sword and got into a stance to swing onto it. As soon as the creature arrived it jumped at Blake!

Blake swung immediately and chopped off one of the legs. The creature screamed in pain as blood shot out from its stump.

"Observe" Blake quietly said as he looked at the monster.

Soon a name was shown "Spider Block".

Description:

"This was a normal monster that often appeared under the bed of children, they would mistake it for a block as the legs wouldn't be able to be seen in the dark.

When they haven't taken residence under your child's bed, they're in fog filled areas to prey on small animals. "

Blake was disgusted. He smiled as he thought of the idea of defeating an enemy that preyed upon children. He had too many bad things happen to him as a kid, he wouldn't wish the same upon others.

As the Spider Block stumbled back Blake charged up mana into his hand and pointed his palm at the monster.

Soon, the mana was too much to handle as it formed a ball and he then focused on creating mana behind the ball.

Blake disconnected his mana flow and under the force of the missing flow, the ball disconnected and shot forward into the spider.

"SCREEE"

the monster shrieked as its other leg was burnt to a crisp by a blue ball of energy.

Blake ran up and shoved his shoe into the monsters face and stabbed into its head. The final leg jumped outward like a ballerina then soon turned limp.

"Those are some gross monsters.." Blake couldn't help but shudder. It reminded him of a daddy long leg.

Blake held his hand on the spider and was met with the systems voice.

"Do you wish to absorb without impurities?"

"Yes." Blake replied as it was an obvious answer.

The monster disintegrated into a black powder and a blue energy flowed into Blake as his eyes glowed a deep blue, he felt his body warm up and it was quite comfortable.

"Failed to learn any skills. Failed to steal a soul, no battery pack found."

"Interesting.." Blake smiled at the opportunities ahead of him.

"Kill him!" A man shouted close by. Blake looked back at the area where the noise came from and his behind one of the trees. He peeked out from the fog.

A man flying in a black mage's coat with a strange emblem on it was chasing a man flying twice as fast. Behind the man with the emblem there were many others with different emblems.

".. What's going on?" Blake sighed. An easy training session might turn complicated.
