The awakening

When the exiled prince finally awoke he noticed that all of his injuries were healed. There was a jar filled with a red-green liquid.

'That must have been what healed me.'

[You are correct young one.] A voice said. The boy looked around but couldn't see anyone nearby.

[Don't bother looking for me you can't see me yet.] The voice echoed in his head.

"Who are you?" The boy asked.

[I have gone by many names, but you can call me shadow]

"Where am i?"

[At the bottom of the ravine. enough questions. tell me boy who are you]

"My name?... I don't have one anymore... it was stripped along with my royalty and princehood."

[Hmmmmm that is quite troubling. Without a name I can't awaken the power inside you]

The boy looked surprised. The being didn't say awaken his magic... but power?

"What do you mean by 'power'?"

[ This world has long lost many things. there used to be beings with great power without using magic. your power is the same as mine.]

The boy swalled the lump that has been building in his throat. and asked "What is the power I posses? And what exactly is a power?"

[ To start with a 'power' is a mutation but instead of it being in your genetics it's in your magic. resulting in something new to appear. Now with what your power is. It doesn't have a name, but have you were ever heard of the reaper?]

"Yes I have heard of the reaper. there are many tales of it. many people believe the reaper consume the souls of the dead. But I believe the reaper helps people move on to the afterlife."

[ You a partially correct young one. You are smarter than you appear. Your power is that you can summon a scythe from the darkness and 'reap' the souls of the dead. This gives you the ability to see the souls of the dead that can't move on by themselves. every time you help a soul pass on you will grow stronger. Now enough talk. it is time to bestow you a name.]

The boys face had a look of surprise before turning into a serious expression.

"Why? What do you get for giving me a name and awaken my power?"

[ It is simple ... This world has lacked reapers to control the souls before they corrupt. When a soul corrupts they will turn into a beast many times stronger than a dragon.]

The boy had a contemplating face before finally saying.

" Alright then. I accept the name and the responsibility that will come with it."

[Good. From now on your name will be nix. And I bestow upon thee the power to balance and help you get your revenge.]

"Wha- How did you kno-"

Before the boy Now named nix could continue speaking shadow said.

[ Because it is the path the lonely king is destined to take.]

When the voice says this there is a flash.

Then Nix feels overwhelming power overflow him.

When the feeling finally ends Nix feels something inside him... but no matter how hard he tries to call it out it won't come out.

'Now that I have the power to get revenge I need to get stronger and build allies to get my revenge. ... ... But first I need to find a way out of this ravine and clean myself... ... food first after getting out.'

I'm kinda surprised I wrote three chapters in one day. there not that good but I might get better with time
