chapter 8

"It's nice having lunch with you MY CHOCOLATE BEAUTY" I said before leaving with a little smile on my face.

Sophia's P.O.V

As usual, my alarm woke up. This time, I woke up on time since I've not been able to get some good sleep for the past few nights now.

I have been dreaming of the people I hurt in the past. I could hear their voices in my head which causes my head to ache badly.

My eyes are so heavy that they are begging to be closed but any time I try to close them, I will always see those innocent people I hurt.

Well,  not all are innocent but I still feel guilty for hurting them. It's only once in a while I get to have a good dream but these past few nights, the dreams I have been having has not been good.

Sometimes, I'll dream of me sliting a man's throat who was pleading with me to save his dear life and sometimes I'll see a woman gagging, holding her throat from been choked on the poison I injected in her blood system.

I guess I'm paying for my sins. This is what I get for hurting people.

I rolled out of bed with  tired limbs and went to the bathroom to do my morning rituals. I took a very cold shower since I've been feeling hot lately.

After getting out of shower, I draped a white towel around my body to go dress in my room.

I took out a gown from my little dresser that reached underneath my knees, put it on and tried to detangle my hair with a hair brush.

I applied some mascara and eyeliner to make my dull eyes look alive, I also applied some foundation and concealer to cover the bags under my eyes.

I don't like using a makeup and perfume, as I don't like to draw attention to myself, but I don't like looking like an homeless person either.

I went to brush my teeth and applied a pink lip balm on my lips.

I made my way towards the door to put on my comfortable shoes, got out of my little apartment and locked the door behind me.

I checked it once again to make sure it's locked.

I don't own many things, not even a television but I wouldn't like it that someone broke into my home even though there's nothing to take.

The sun was just starting to rise making the sky mixture of blue and gold color. The cold air hit my body making me shiver all over.

I immediately tied my hair in a rough ponytail as I don't want it blocking my view while walking into the already busy street.

This city is always busy no matter the time of the day..

I continued walking, trying to enjoy the beautiful nature but I could feel that someone was watching me.

I don't know if I'm being paranoid because of the bad dreams I have been having or it's just my stupid imagination. But with my years of experience, imaginations can be real.

If truly someone was watching me, that means I am no longer safe.

What if they have found me and they are planning to take me back? I shivered in fear.

No,..Sophia take a deep breath and calm down, you're just been paranoid.. No one has found you nor is here to take you back.

I took a deep breath and calmed myself down as my hands were already shaking. Before I know it, I was already in the building going up in the elevator to clean the CEO's office as usual.

Just like I always do every morning, I ignored Jersey and went into the Janitor's closet to change my clothes and grab some cleaning materials.

Making my way to Mr Parker's office, I ignored Jersey again. "I don't know why she's always grumpy" I thought to myself.

I finished cleaning his office in no time and went to do the other chores.

While cleaning around the cafeteria, "Miss Sophia" I heard my name been called by one of the staffs.

"Mr Parker will like to see you in his office" he said lightly and walked away as if he didn't just say what he said and didn't care what Mr Parker wants to do with me.

OMG...what if he wants to fire me, I knew he couldn't let my lateness slide like that..."asshole" I cursed inwardly.

I quickly made my way to his office while Jersey was glaring daggers at me and knocked on his door.

"Come in" I heard his dark rich voice say. I wiped my sweaty hands on my thigh as I was nervous and needed to calm myself down.

"Oh God, please save me from this one. I promise not to be late again after this" , I said a small prayer before proceeding to open the door.

I gently opened his door and went in. I gently closed his door again after successfully stepping into his office without tripping.

I stood in front of him with my hands folded at my back.

There he sat on his chair with his gaze focused on his computer still looking hot even after he ruffled his hair

"Sophia, shut up...what the hell are you thinking checking out your boss like that" I scolded myself mentally.

"You sent for me sir" I said lightly gaining his attention and he finally looked up at me from his computer.

"Ah, yes..i sent for you Miss Knight" he said with a little smirk on his face making my heart pound profusely. I hope he is not about to say what I'm thinking.

"How about you become my P.A Miss Knight?" he said looking straight into my eyes.
