Somehow, I Become His Mate

“I reject you, Hazel Harzebloom, as my fated mate and the Luna of this pack.” ‘Huh?’ Her pupil shook. “Not only are you wolfless, you're even a sinner now.” He spoke through his chilling laughter. She’s stunned. ‘What the heck is he spouting about? I'm not even that woman named Hazel Harzebloom. I’m Maya Maureen, darn it!’ All the veins in her throat tightened. The only sound that came out of her mouth was a frustrated grumble. She couldn't even mutter a word, let alone correct him.

Another Woman's Man

She responds in a hoarse voice. "I'll do it. I'll do anything you want me to, so please stop this. What do you want me to do?"

Even though this is in a dream, I don't want to feel pain. Aren't I already in pain in the real world when I have to admit that he's married? With that, Hazel b-tch!

"Hah. You know what I want. To sever this disgusting bond and have you punished for your crime, Hazel."

'Aw~ my only crime is loving you too much. How could his voice sound so melodious, even in a dream?'

"I, Alpha Sharx of the Moon Shone Pack, reject you, Hazel Harzebloom, as my mate and Luna. Now quick, accept it."

'Alright, I'll do it for him.'

After taking a deep breath, she spoke. "I, Hazel Harzebloom, accept your rejection, Alpha Sharx of the Moon Shone Pack, as your mate and Luna of this pack."

She kept gazing lovingly at Alpha Sharx while declaring that, ignoring the look of disgust emitted by him.

Tiny, glittering red glows, flying like fireflies, emerged from within their bodies. They started swirling around them and enveloped them.

It was a magical moment she had only heard about from people who had found their fated mate. Experiencing this magical moment with the love of her life moved her to tears, even when it was only a dream.

She laughs contentedly in her mind. 'It would be more refreshing if I could hear him reject that b-tch Hazel mercilessly in the real world as well. But for now, let the dream go on~ kekeke...'

Not long after, the glittering red glow rushes back into her body. A gust of wind drums in her chest as she feels the strange sensation. She tilts her head while Sharx scoffs. He cursed under his breath.

"Damn it. What have you done again that this bond refuses to break?"

The woman twitched her brows as she questioned herself. 'The bond is refused to break?' she tilted her head and then replied timidly, "I did nothing, though."

"Then why isn't this fated mate bond broken?"

'It must be because we're inside a dream, duh.' She swallowed her actual answer, which almost popped out unconsciously, and shook her head. "I don't know either."

"Hah, you think I'll believe you? You're such a liar, Hazel. You've always been a liar." He pulled his chin up. "Sam?"

As he called out his Beta name again, the woman faltered. "No, wait—ergh!"

'Damn it! Damn it! The bond is not broken because I'm not her! I'm not Hazel Harzebloom!' She wanted to shout that out, but somehow she couldn't.

Sharx spoke through his gritted teeth. "Now, talk. What have you done this time, Hazel?"

Withholding tears, the woman he called Hazel slowly opened her numb mouth.

"I don't know. I guess that's because this is only a dream, and I'm not Haz—uck!"

Before she completed her explanation, her body stopped moving shortly after.

Sharx turned to his Beta. "Sam, did you do that?"

Feeling wronged, Sam shook his head. "No. You didn't give the order, Alpha."

"Is that so? Is she dead, then?" Alpha Sharx looked down at the woman with an unbothered look. "Ah, what a waste of time. Get rid of her."

"Are you sure?"

Sharx clicked his tongue, and that was enough to make Sam change his answer. "Yes, Alpha. Your command shall be done."

When Sharx was about to leave the scene, he staggered.

Sam quickly reached out and shouted, "Alpha Sharx! Are you alright- huh?" Sam blinked his eyes, confused by his own question.

Alpha Sharx, the rugged and ruthless man above everyone else, who wouldn't even move a muscle even if poison went down his throat, now staggered instead.

Sam's shock was apparent. "What's wrong, Alpha? Did you stagger? ...You?"

Sharx smirked as his frosty gaze went down at the woman. "Damn it. She got me good this time." He groans in pain, and then his body falls to the side.

"Alpha Sharx!" Sam shouted frantically, taking Sharx out of that room as quickly as possible.

Leaving the woman lying on the floor.

***

My body jerked as I cracked open my eyes.

Do you know that feeling of shock when you fall off a bike or slip into the bathroom inside a dream? That's what I felt.

As I looked around, it was still mostly dark, but I could see a little sunlight peek through the slightly open gaps in the curtains. That's when I snorted at myself.

'Sheesh, I must have been drinking like a fish again last night and acting like a crazy dog.' I shook my head, then stretched my whole body.

Pain spread in every joint without a warning.

It only strengthens my belief that I am truly the incarnation of a crazy dog every time I drink. I sighed again.

'But, last night's dream was so vivid and wild. Kyaaaa!' I bite my lips, turning and kicking around on the bed.

"Oh my, is that perhaps my hidden taste? Whoa, so I have such a wild taste, huh? I must be crazy!" I laughed and then sighed.

It's been so long since Alpha Sharx made an appearance in my dreams. It would be more fun if Beta Sam weren't there, though.

Why would he even be in my dream? Tsk.

In that dream, Alpha Sharx stood before me, showing off the majesty of his holy body. Aw, his scornful smile also looks more adorable than I saw in real life.

Even though I have now opened my eyes and returned to the real world, I still hear his voice ringing in the back of my mind.

"His voice purifies my dirty soul! He's such a treat, even in my dream! Hahahaha!" I laugh like there's no tomorrow.

But that was such a short enjoyment that I started to shed tears and laugh dryly.

'Right, it was just a dream. I could not even meet him if it was not a dream. Haha, it's suck. I wish to live in a dream if that's the only way I can see him.'

I pulled the blanket to cover half of my face. "I'm so pathetic."

Desiring another woman's man is a lowly act, even for a b-tch like me.

But I can't stop loving him.

I resent the Moon Goddess for letting me fall in love with him and hoping he would turn his heart towards me.

'Maybe that's why I had a silly dream like last night.'

Hazel and I were both wolfless. But she's stupid and not that pretty compared to me. How could she become his fated mate while I was not?

"Ugh, but why does it hurt so much?"

Compared to other days when I drank like a crazy fish, today, my body felt heavier than usual. I massaged my neck and shoulders while my other hands felt around the bed.

"Where's my phone? I must thank that guy and let him know I'm awake now."

But I couldn't find what I was looking for.

As much as I felt a sting all over my body, I got out of bed, trying to find my phone. I walked around like a grandma.

"Which hotel is it?"

It's become my daily routine to drown in the comfort of alcohol and then drop like a dead person in a hotel. This kind of scene doesn't surprise me anymore.

At first, I thought it would be enough to pollute my mind with alcohol so I would no longer think about him, and yet, here I am. Getting wasted for the umpteenth time because my heart is suffering from a long, unrequited love.

I straightened my body, trying to walk like a sane person. I rubbed my eyes and wiped away the sticky dirt from my eyes.

"I'm disgusting, hahaha. A face like this didn't deserve to enter Alpha Sharx's vision. I can't show a face like this to him." I nodded, determined.

"Alpha Sharx, why must it be her and not me?" I sigh.

Those words have been my life slogan for the past month.

I walked toward a mirror. When I opened my eyes properly, I found that woman's face, Hazel, right before me.

My heart jumped like crazy. "The hell! What's with her? Huh? She… talked?"

Why do I see that woman's face and not mine?

I slapped my cheeks several times. Then, I stretched them like pulling cheese out of a pizza.

"Huh? This is me, though. But why am I seeing her face now?"

I chuckled in disbelief. "Am I still inside the dream? Is it like a dream inside a dream? Hahaha."

How annoying.

"Huh? Wait, but my voice is sound just like hers. What's going on? What kind of dream is this so long?"

The door opened with a loud bang, which startled me. I turned sharply and found a woman in a maid's clothes glaring at me.

She spoke. "What? Are you still not ready yet, Miss Hazel? Do you want to be doused with ice water again to regain your senses?"

I blinked slowly, then narrowed my eyes. "Excuse me, who are you? No, I mean, who did you call just now?"

Is she a hotel staff member? But why is she calling Hazel instead of my name while looking at me?

She clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes. "You don't have time to play around, Miss Hazel. Madam is waiting, so quickly get your act together, or else..."

"Miss Hazel?" I repeated her words.

"Hey, are you sick or something? Why are you calling me with that name?" My words trailed off as I looked in the mirror again and then slapped my face hard, repeatedly.

The maid gasps. "What are you doing? Have you finally gone crazy?!" The maid kept shouting at me, but I heard nothing at all.

My gaze was fixed on the mirror reflection. 'What's wrong with my face? Why is it not my face? Why didn't I wake up from my dream after all this slapping?'

My heart thumped wildly.

I looked down at my body, felt around it, and noticed a real difference I hadn't realized before.

"Where's my watermelon mound? Whose body is this so scrawny?!"

My mind was so jumbled that I didn't notice the maid approach me. She poured a bucket of ice water over me and rambled on.

That's how I came to my senses.

'No way. Am I inside Hazel's body?'
