Chapter 12: Grimsnarl, Inheritance Test, and Wealth.

Solomon stood in front of the towering marble entrance of Gringotts, the famous wizarding bank in the heart of Diagon Alley. It was a crisp winter morning, and the streets were bustling with witches and wizards going about their daily business. Beside Solomon stood his loyal companion, Jooby, who had insisted on accompanying him on this important journey.

"This bes Gringotts Master Solomon," Jooby explained, his large round eyes filled with anticipation. Solomon nodded, his heart pounding with excitement.

Entering the exquisite marble lobby of the bank, Solomon and Jooby approached the goblin teller's desk. The goblin, with a sharp, beak-like nose and piercing eyes, glanced at them before beckoning them closer.

"Name?" the goblin asked in a gruff voice.

"Solomon," he replied, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and nervousness.

The goblin studied the young boy for a moment before glancing down at his ledger. "Ah, Solomon. You are here for the meeting with a Goblin at 11. Follow me," the goblin beckoned.

Solomon and Jooby followed the goblin through the complicated halls of Gringotts, the echoes of their footsteps reverberating off the stone walls. Finally, Solomon and Jooby arrived at the designated room in Gringotts for the scheduled meeting with a goblin from the Goblin Services Department, who was assigned to answer their inquiries regarding the bank's services.

The room exuded an air of efficiency, with polished wooden furniture and shelves adorned with ancient artifacts. They took their seats, ready to delve into the intricacies of Gringotts.

A goblin with a stern expression entered the room, introducing himself as Grimsnarl. He was a seasoned representative of the Goblin Services Department, tasked with providing clients with information about the bank's operations.

"Good morning, Solomon," Grimsnarl greeted them with a nod, "I am here to address any questions you may have regarding the services provided by Gringotts."

Solomon took a moment to collect his thoughts before speaking, "Thank you, Grimsnarl. I would like to understand more about the workings of Gringotts. Specifically, how do the vault fees function, and what are the benefits of storing money and possessions in the bank's vaults?"

Grimsnarl leaned forward, his voice confident and precise, "Gringotts offers a secure storage solution for our clients. Vaults are rented on an annual basis, with fees ranging from 10 Galleons for smaller vaults to 500 Galleons for the largest ones. The exact fee depends on the size and level of security required."

Solomon's eyes widened, realizing the tangible value placed on the security provided by Gringotts, "And how does the exchange rate work between Wizarding currency, such as Galleons, Sickles, Knuts, and Muggle currency?"

Grimsnarl nodded, appreciating the inquiry, "The exchange rate is standardized to ensure fair transactions. One Galleon is equivalent to 17 Sickles, and one Sickle is equal to 29 Knuts. Gringotts provides exchange services for both Wizarding and Muggle currencies, allowing for seamless transactions between the two worlds."

He continued, "Furthermore, clients gain access to our extensive network of investment opportunities. Gringotts can assist in managing wealth, offering advice on profitable ventures, and even providing legal actions to help our clients buy and sell businesses within the magical world."

Solomon nodded, understanding the importance of Gringotts in the wizarding community. While Solomon was taking a look at the pamphlet on the table two things stood out to him, "That leads me to my next question. What is the difference between the inheritance test and the magical power test? And can I request an inheritance test?"

Grimsnarl tapped his fingers on the table, considering the question, "The inheritance test determines your bloodline and lineage, revealing your rightful heritage and any associated assets. It verifies your claim to houses, vaults, and other possessions that have been passed down through generations."

He then explained, "On the other hand, the magical power test assesses your innate abilities, determining any unique magical powers or talents that you may possess. This test is particularly relevant when it comes to ancient magical houses, as certain bloodlines are known to carry distinct magical affinities."

Solomon's eyes gleamed with excitement and replied, "I would like to request an inheritance test, Grimsnarl."

Grimsnarl nodded and reached for a small goblin-made communication device. He spoke into it, requesting another goblin to perform the inheritance test.

Within a few minutes, a goblin entered the room, carrying a stack of parchment and a quill. The goblin introduced himself as Thornscale, an expert in genealogical research.

In the room of Gringotts, Solomon stood nervously before Thornscale, who held a small golden bowl in his clawed hands. Jooby stood by his side, offering a reassuring nod. "Fear not, Master Solomon," the house elf whispered softly.

Solomon took a deep breath as he extended his arm over the bowl. Thornscale used a goblin-made dagger to extract a few drops of blood, which shimmered with a magical glow as they fell into the golden liquid. Thornscale then chanted in a guttural tongue, casting ancient goblin magic on the bowl.

As if enchanted by an unseen force, the blood within the bowl transformed into a silvery liquid that flowed into the beautiful, quill resting on the table. The quill hovered in mid-air, its nib touching parchment as if guided by an invisible hand. Solomon's heart pounded with anticipation as he watched the quill begin to write.

The words appeared on the parchment with a flourish, revealing the names of his ancestors. "Solomon Nuru Eze," the script began, followed by "Aliyah Nuru Eze," denoting Solomon's mother, with a last name specific to magical Africa.

The quill continued its mesmerizing dance, tracing back through the generations until it revealed the names of Aliyah's many times great-grandparents. "Grandfather Kwame Tendai Maduka" from magical Africa, and "Great-Grandmother Edith Mildred Ravenclaw," from the Ancient House of Ravenclaw.

The pen continued writing out a lot more information about the Ancient House of Mansa and the Royal House of Ravenclaw. As Solomon was shocked looking at the parchment Thornscale words settled in, and Solomon's eyes widened in astonishment and disbelief. Grimsnarl, who stood witness to this moment, could hardly believe what he had just heard. The gravity of the revelation seemed to echo through the very walls of Gringotts.

Solomon could hardly process the weight of the revelation — he was the heir to not just one but two ancient and powerful magical houses!

The House of Mansa was thought to be extinct, and the Royal House of Ravenclaw, renowned for its wisdom and intellect, was now part of his heritage. The weight of this newfound knowledge sent a rush of emotions through him — excitement, pride, and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to comprehend the magnitude of his destiny.

Beside him, Jooby's excitement was contagious. The house elf was jumping up and down, praising his master joyfully, "Jobby is being proud of Master Solomon! So great and powerful, serving the House of Mansa and House of Ravenclaw!" Jooby's eyes sparkled with admiration and joy, and his boundless enthusiasm only heightened Solomon's sense of awe.

At that moment, Solomon was speechless. He had inherited not just a vast fortune but also a legacy. With the weight of his ancestors' accomplishments resting on his shoulders, Solomon knew he had a grand destiny ahead, one that would intertwine the Ancient House of Mansa with the Royal House of Ravenclaw, and forever shape the magical world.

This chapter might be a bit of an info dump but the inheritance test is complete.
