"You didn't have to come all the way to drop me, y'know..."
Standing near the apartment where Jinah lives, the girl spoke with a small smile as she looked at Haru in gratification. Coming all the way to send her home was really gentlemanly of him.
She might have been reserved with him some hours ago, but now that she has conversed for two long hours, Jinah finally understood that it was alright to be more casual with Haru.
As Song-Yi has told her in the past, Haru is a really sweet guy and considerate toward others as well. Given how he helped her wipe her lips which were covered in sauce back in the restaurant and also how he helped her with her bag when she began to get tired along the way back to her house, spoke about his true personality.
And Jinah was genuinely impressed by him.
"Well, you are helping me tomorrow with the shopping, then this much is nothing."
Recalling the promise she did to him back in the restaurant, Jinah nodded in understanding and felt her face heating up for some reasons that she has yet to realize. She wasn't regretting her decision to offer him help...rather she was slightly nervous about something else.
They bid their farewell soon after as Jinah began climbing the stairs to her apartment.
All the way to her home, she was only thinking about Haru and the things they talked about today. It was rather refreshing to hang out with a friend. Unlike what she thought, the mood was not awkward at all and the chat went fluently like Jinah knew Haru for a long time and was having fun in his company.
'But I liked it... '
Smiling foolishly to herself, Jinah entered her home, only for her to sigh in resignation to not be greeted by her brother, signifying he has yet to return.
Jinah exchanged her shoes and after wearing something comfortable, she went to drop her bag in her room.
Jinah was about to change her uniform when something ticked in her mind and she suddenly walked to the window of her room before glancing outside, precisely the place where she left Haru.
And just as her instincts told her, she saw Haru still standing there looking in her direction.
'This guy...why is he such a worry wart... '
Even though she was downstairs with Haru, he told her to leave first even though Jinah insisted that it was alright for him to go first. In the end, she had to comply with his persistence and now looking outside her window she realized that Haru was too caring about others.
"Go home!!"
Jinah shouted at the top of her lungs, even though she knew she would disturb neighbors. But the smile on her face and butterflies in her belly which rooted to find Haru still standing there in consideration toward her made her a little out of character.
Haru waved her goodbye before he walked away.
Seeing the empty spot where Haru stood a moment ago, something amiss lingered inside Jinah but she soon dismissed it and went back to her room.
'I am again overthinking things... '
*****
[Haru's POV:]
After leaving Jinah at her house, Haru walked slowly toward nowhere. His previous smile soon faded like the previous Haru was nothing but a myth.
Everything about him, whether it was his aura or demeanor, everything shifted to a colder tone. The sweet and nice guy accompanying Jinah until now has like been erased from Haru's consciousness.
But can someone blame him for having two sides when he has seen nothing but hell back in the goddess domain and has been trained to be the best in his work so he could be to fulfill the wishes that goddess might ask of him in the future?
'Let's see... '
Focusing on his surroundings, Haru levitated in the air high enough to not get caught by regular humans before he focused on his hearing to find the nearest dungeon.
Back in the domain, he has been taught basic mana control which helped Haru to unlock some skills like levitation, appraisal, and mana fortification but not to a high degree.
He could appraise things and consider their rank and could strengthen himself and his weapon with mana but not something he could not touch. As for levitation, then he was a master in it since he has been utilizing it since the initial stages of training.
Haru thought that he may have to use six eyes to find a newly spawned gate but coincidentally he had to not look much far as a gate just three kilometers away from his spot was emerging on the surface.
With a smile of excitement, he vanished from his spot with a loud boom as he darted furiously toward the gate which was yet to be detected by the hunter's organization.
Since he was not registered, coming across the organization would be problematic so he preferred to work in the shadows for now and only reveal himself when it doesn't get that dire.
He had no problem being the center of attraction or remaining a mob for the rest of his life until he could be with the woman he desires and live comfortably. About Sung Jin-Woo, then Haru has already thought about the scenario and what he has to do to stop himself from getting recruited into the shadow army.
It was true that Haru can kill Sung Jin-Woo as of now but with time when he would attain more of Monarch's strength, there would be nothing but domain expansion that could deal with Jin-Woo.
'Well, I will think about it when the time comes... '
Haru had no desire to fight or kill Jin-Woo since he was a nice guy and protection to the world which Haru could never be. However, Haru can't even let the plot progress as it went as well.
Reason?
Time reversal.
The goddess warned Haru that once Jin-Woo reversed the world back in time, Haru would lose his memories of past life and the domain along with his skills as well.
Once Jin-Woo uses the cup of reincarnation, Haru would become a regular human which the boy was not ready for at all. He has forged himself for continuous ten years for this and he was ready to go the extra distance to prevent the probable future.
"Well, enough of bullshit. Let's get on with hunting..."
Cracking his knuckles, Haru landed on the ground before he disappeared behind a veil of darkness.
