Chapter 1 Background

Having lived my 25 years of life with relative ease, What I enjoyed the most was hanging out with Sung jin-woo, my best friend and my brother from another mother. me and jin-woo had always walked home together and talked about all kinds of things. he would often eat dinner at our house with my mother and father, and we would gladly welcome him with open arms.

Ever since his father had gone missing 10 years ago, he began to change considerably. He would always smile and laugh when we went to have dinner at his or my house, but I haven't heard his laugh since the day his father disappeared. His mother recently got diagnosed with the eternal sleep disease and has been sleeping and getting worse for the last year.

I had awakened as an E-rank hunter just as jin-woo had. but I ranked in the middle of E-rank and jin-woo was ranked at the lowest and worst in the world of E-rank. Me and jin-woo didn't have any special abilities that came with our awakening, so our combat prowess was only that of slightly higher than an average humans. Nonetheless we still went for raids and tried to earn money, the reason I went and raided dungeons was because I didn't want to leave Jin-woo alone. And because my family isn't rich or anything I always gave half my profits to jin-woo so he could pay the hospital bills for his mother.
