STELLA fluttered her lashes at him and slowly shifted closer to him, despite his order. "You know, sitting that far from your wife is going to make people think we're strangers. Who knows? Someone might even fall in love with me at first sight, and you'd bear a heavy load."

"No, no, you said something. What did you just say? Tell me," she demanded. But Valeric didn't respond. He wasn't even willing to look at her. A soft breath fled her mouth, and she pinched between her brows. "Okay, okay, I'll stop. I'm gonna sit away from you." She moved to shift back to her position, but her hand was grabbed and she was pulled back, right where he wanted her.
