Chapter 37

Christopher hesitates for a moment before he takes my hand with a nod. He brings my hand up to his lips and kisses the back of my hand before we head towards the door. I grab the DNA results as we leave the room from the printer beside my desk. On our way to the living room, we hear laughter filling the air as we approach the door. The sight that greets us makes us stop in our tracks. Svetlana and my mother are sitting on one of the couches talking about who knows what as Tucker sits on Svetlana's lap. Vladimir and my dad are standing by the fireplace drinking bourbon as they laugh together. My brothers and Megan are talking to Nick like they are long-lost friends.

Svetlana sees us standing in the doorway and smiles at us. "Tucker is just the sweetest little boy that I have ever met," she says as she hugs him. He giggles at her as my mom tries to tickle him.

"Hey," Nick says offended from the other side of the room making everyone laugh.
