Chapter 15

Christopher POV

This night did not go to plan. After Natalia walked up with her dad, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her again. It was like I was in a trance until Chelsea does the exact thing I told her not to do. I already made the decision that she is packing her desk up on Monday. Another left turn happens when my best friend reveals that he is related to the Andersons. The only thing I can think of is: did I ever know these two people?

Still in shock of all of the news that has been revealed tonight, I don't shake out of it until Chelsea insults Darius as well as brings up Natalia and I's marriage. Seeing Natalia shut her down was actually very satisfying. I cut in and send her home, to which she doesn't like before I apologize for her behavior tonight. Natalia thinks that I threw my family away from her but my parents never knew of what happened.

Isabella Anderson has the venue play a memorial video for her departed mother-in-law as well as the ones of their employees. Near the end, I see what looks to be a sonogram of a baby girl with the name Alana Marie Anderson at the bottom. Looking over at the Anderson siblings, I see Natalia staring at the image with teary eyes as she touches her wrist. Did she lose a child? Or was it one of her siblings that lost one?

After the slideshow, I jog out and catch her as she is getting into a limo. I only want a chance to explain everything but she doesn't give me a chance. When she tells me that I only want her now because of her family but that is far from the truth. She gets in the limo after finally saying that she will think about it and she leaves. I watch the car disappear before I go back in to where George was talking with a woman that looks a lot like him. Ten minutes later, I pass by Natalia's dad as he answers his phone only to tell the person he will be there as fast as he can.

"Is everything ok?" I asked him as he was walking by me at a fast pace.

"No" was all he says before I follow him out. My car is pulling up behind the Anderson and I head to get in.

"I'll follow you," I say to him as I walk past him.

"I don't think that is a good idea," he says. I turn around to face him as if to challenge him to stop me.

"If what's wrong has anything to do with Natalia then I'm coming," I informed him. I need to know that she is safe.

Darius glanced at his wife who only gives a nod before he told me to stay close. I get in my car and we set out to what I assume is his home. Not long after we leave the city limits, we pull up to the most beautiful house I have ever seen. My worry had heightened at the sight of an ambulance that passed us along the way. However, I wasn't prepared for the sight that greeted me.

I get out to see Natalia in all black with weapons decorating her body. She is at the back of a black SUV loading a bag into the back. Darius and his wife get out of the car in front of me so I do the same when it comes to a stop. They run up and hug Natalia before her eyes meet mine. She says something to Darius that makes him turn around to look in my direction. As I get closer, her phone dings, making her look at it.

"The tracker says 19655 Hilton Drive," Natalia's voice reaches me. What is she doing with Chelsea's old address? The only reason I know of her old address is because she requested movers to help her move everything out and to her new house downtown.

"Why are you going to Chelsea's old house?" I ask her as I reach them. The look she gives me makes me want to hide behind Darius.

"I'm going to fucking kill her," Natalia says to her dad before turning to get into the SUV.

Not caring that she is loaded with weapons, I try my best to stop her. The thought of her actually pulling one of her guns on me did not cross my mind until I was staring at the barrel. Her words to get me to move made a pain through my heart. Her son is missing and Chelsea's old home is where he is being held. Thinking that I will be moved one way or another, judging from her brothers ready to tackle me, I move out of her way. Just as she shuts the door, I make the sudden decision to go with them and jump in the backseat.

Before we go inside the house that her son is held, she tells me what to do so I stay safe. Does she really care for my safety? What about her? When I ask her about who will protect her, she just simply says she doesn't need it. Deciding to stick with her, I make a silent vow to protect her even if she doesn't want it.

Impressed is an understatement to how I feel after we enter the house. She not only took out one of the guards, but two of them. Something feels familiar about how they all move around and fight. As we enter the room, her words make me look at her in shock. Tucker is her son? This whole time I believed that he was a boyfriend of hers. What makes my world stop all together is the sight of the boy coming out of the closet. He looks to be around five years old but what gets me is that he looks like me at that age. Did Natalia have my child? I will have to somehow get a hair strand from him to have a DNA test done.

My eyes couldn't look away from the mother/son duo in the front seat. When the little boy hears my voice, he looks up at me. It was like looking into a mirror. Everyone chuckles at him when he gets on to his mom about boys which makes him look at all of us like he is serious.

We get back to the Anderson residence and get out as the guy I don't know takes the car somewhere with the guard in the back. Following Natalia, we enter an office and all take a seat. Natalia looks at me with a blank expression as she tells me to ask all of my questions I have here and now. I state the fact that she has changed but she tells me she is back to her normal self. Did she really change because of me and the company? She confirms that Tucker is her son and that she would do whatever it takes to make sure he is safe or get him back. At first I thought that she thinks she is higher than the law until I see the same tattoo that I saw that night a few weeks ago. Why didn't I notice it before? Natalia tells me that her parents started a government used company that basically specializes in special ops.

"Wait, it was you all who rescued me?" I ask her and look at everyone else that is in this room.

Natalia nods her head at me. "Yes that was us. I will say that it was intriguing that you thought I would stoop to the level of having you kidnapped and beat."

"Now I know where I saw that tattoo before. You were the one who got shot," I say as my eyes go to her shoulder. looking closely, I see where they had repaired the vest she has on.

"That was me," she confirms. "Is there any other questions?"

"Why are you after Chelsea?" I ask her. This time her brothers stand up in anger. I realize what it looks like with me asking that. The thing is, I want to know why my possible son was at her old residence. The words that came from Natalia next, brought my world crashing down

"Because she killed my daughter," she says in an emotionless tone. Wait there were two?

Natalia POV

Christopher stares at me as my words sink in. My phone vibrates in my pocket so I take it out to glance at it. My mind is on high alert still from the events of tonight so I needed to make sure that nothing else has happened. The screen lights up to show a message from Victor Massey, a close friend that is a Private Investigator in Nashville. The message states 'There was another client that wanted the same information on Chelsea Jones. I sent them the information tonight but I can't tell you who. I am pretty sure you will figure it out though.' I quickly replay my thanks before looking straight at the man sitting in front of me.

"How do you know she killed your daughter?" he asked with genuine curiosity.

I look at him for a moment before I sit back in the chair. "Maybe you should look at that report that you got earlier tonight from the PI you hired."

"How did you know about that?" Christopher asks as he pulls his phone out of his pocket.

"I just took a guess at who requested the same information that I have," I tell him as he pulls his email up. He reads some of the findings before his face turns serious. "If you look at the report from eight months after I left, you will see that she hired a driver to run a BMW off the road."

Christopher scrolls through the reports he was sent while we all watch him. "I found it. Jones has been found as suspect in a hit and run around 7 pm involving a 2018 BMW as the victim and a 2007 Chevrolet . The driver of the Chevrolet was questioned by private investigators where he stated that he was hired by Jones to run the BMW off of the road for suspicion of theft of rare stones. Two persons were in the BMW and one was taken by ambulance to hospital where they underwent emergency surgery due to the victim being pregnant with twins. The mother survived with the male child where the female child died upon impact from the crash," Christopher reads out loud with his voice breaking at the last part of the report. He looks up at me with teary eyes as he puts his phone down.

"I am so sorry that this happened to you. If I could have prevented it, I would have. No mother should have to bury a child that young," he states as he tries to compose himself.

I take a deep breath and look at my siblings. "Should I tell him the rest?"

Huxley looks at Christopher then at me. "He will find out sooner or later. He probably already suspects it from the way he was acting earlier."

Christopher looks between us with confusion on his face but I see the signs of him knowing something laying under the surface. "Tell me what?"

"That night I didn't just lose a child. You did as well," I tell him slowly. Christopher just looks at me like he is frozen in time. A few minutes go by before he finally speaks.

"What exactly do you mean by that? Are you saying that Tucker and the daughter that you lost that night are my children as well," Christopher asks as his face turns to shock with anger mixed in.

"That is exactly what I am saying. If you really looked at Tucker earlier, you would see that he is basically a carbon copy of you when you were his age," I tell him as my defenses start to raise with the way his mood is turning.

Christopher stands up and starts to pace in front of the desk. Huxley just stays seated as he watches Christopher's reaction as well as the rest of the people in the room. On the couch, I notice that Megan, Grayson, and Jaxon moved closer to the edge.

"Why didn't you tell me? I have now missed the first four, almost five, years of his life." Christopher almost yells. This causes me to stand up from my seat and lean on the desk with my hands.

"I did try to tell you. The night you kicked me out was when I was going to tell you first. That morning I went to the hospital because I was not able to eat anything or even keep it down. I had cooked your favorite meal and was going to tell you after we ate dinner," I say back to him but not as loud as he did. "Then when I finally got the courage to try to tell you again, I came to your house only to find that your mistress was wearing an engagement ring. MY ring to be exact. So that night I decided that I wasn't going to put what you would see as a burden on you since you had moved on. That same night, I almost lost both of my babies!" By the end of my speech, Christopher had stopped pacing and was now staring at me in shock.

"You were going to tell me?" he asks as I see his eyes start to glisten.

"Yes, I was. My mother did a lot of talking to me about it because I feared that you would just say that they were not yours since you had this idea that I cheated on you. I was surprised that you didn't show up demanding an answer since Chelsea saw my giant belly. Victor did some digging for my parents and found that she was behind it to begin with so it made since that she didn't tell you so that any children you have would be your heir," I tell him as my hold on my emotions starts to weaken at the memory of my little girl.

Christopher looks around the room at everyone who confirm my words. He lingers on Jaxon and Megan, who are holding hands on the couch. Seeing the rings, he needs confirmation on everything so he asks them one question. "How long have you been married?"

Jaxon glances at Megan with a smile as she returns it full force. "Almost ten years. We got married right before you married my sister."

Christopher nods his head before turning back to me. "I have a confession to make."

"Now is the time to get it out," I tell him. "I may not hear you out in the future because I am done with all of the drama."

He takes a deep breath before he looks me in the eyes. "I never cheated on you. Our marriage was always my most prized possession. Not my company, cars, or even the house. It was always you and what we had. When I saw the pictures, I came up with the plan to have Chelsea pretend that we were together and had been for months. It was wrong, I know that now, but I wanted you to feel what I felt when I was told that you were stepping out on our marriage."

I look at him in disbelief at what he just said. "What the hell Christopher? If you would have just come to me and talked about it, I would have told you Jaxon was my brother. That night I even tried to tell you but you wouldn't let me speak. What the hell did I do to deserve that after, in the four years we were married, never gave you reason to doubt me or my feelings for you?"

Christopher looks down for a moment before looking back at me with apologetic eyes. "You did nothing to deserve that. I let the words of others get to me and I jumped to conclusions. I am so sorry Natalia."

"How can I believe you were never with her? She was always going out of her way to brag about you both sneaking around together," I ask him. This may be the wrong thing to ask but I need to know.

"I was never with her. She has always tried to get me to be with her from flirting and wearing inappropriate clothes to work but I ignored her and those advances. Work place relationships are a big no in my opinion. All it does is cause tension and drama if something happens," Christopher explains. His eyes show that he is being truthful and I honestly don't know what to think at this point.

"With that said, then you know who to blame on you missing out on your family," I tell him as I hold my feelings in.

Christopher looks at his ring that he received as an award for his accomplishments in his company before he looks back at me with hopeful eyes.

"Can I meet my son?"
