A/N: Just thought it would be funny if I went away for a while after saying I would continue and give you gays a crazy cliffhanger.

I never dropped this, just preparing the second volume, improving my writing skills and such. After all, writing about Dragons and Fantasy is my bread and butter, so I would never actually abandon it.

Anyway...

Chapter 47 - Battle Of Destiny

->The Wyrm's POV<-< p>

"JUMP HER!!!

Well, quite frankly, the Wyrm saw not much reason to disobey Rend's order, so after creating a mock rocket in the form of an exploding burst of heat in his claws, the Wyrm launched himself in the Spider's direction.

From what she said over the telepathic link he had established, she was probably one of his old classmates or something, another reincarnate from Earth.

But to the current, slightly deranged Wyrm, this just meant one thing—more loot, baby!

The Wyrm himself was a [Freak of Nature] and possessed a multitude of game-breaking Skills. A Dungeon Monster who has the mindset of a Human will almost always end up uniquely powerful, those non-human isekai light novels aren't just making shit up.

Even without an initial golden finger, the Wyrm had managed to forcefully get one for himself by doing something so completely unnatural that he was regarded as a freak by the Gods, but the Issei of his previous life was just an overly emotional and hormonal teen...

What about the other guys and gals? What if they were born Monsters too? What would they end up like? Well, there's one answer to that question and it's the damn Spider.

Like him, she managed to somehow become a Ruler with a Unique Skill.

What other tricks could she have? A tiny Spider, probably from the Upper Stratum...she must have done something of equal greatness like the Wyrm's own unnatural consumption of his unborn siblings!

It doesn't even really matter that she could be some girl from his class, aside from that one, Sakurazaki Issei never quite liked the others and merely tolerated their rather boring existence.

Essentially, Spider-Girl = Powerful Skills ripe for the taking!

The Wyrm rocketed himself toward the Spider as he sent a booming strike of the claw straight to her face—only for the Spider to flicker away into another position, the rocky stalactite she had stood upon falling upon impact.

The Spider flickered to the floor as her eyes shone a powerful shade of red and purple. the Wyrm seeing the very obvious activation of a Skill was about to block himself out of view, but before he could even do so...

"ROOOAAAAR!

The very earth shook and trembled as Rend leapt out of the lava with a mighty heap, his rather fast speed uncharacteristic of his humongous size.

With the sway of his head, the Fire Dragon released a colossal tsunami of flames from out of his maws, the entire floor of the battlefield engulfed in inferno.

The Wyrm immediately used [Detection] as he tried to find where the Spider had run off to, only to snap his head to his side as the Spider's scythe-like claws went down on him.

Unlike before where he had just chosen to dodge the Spider's attacks, now the Wyrm instead faced it head-on with a draconic grin as he caught the Spider's blades with both of his hands.

Of course, the scythes immediately cut up his hands, but in return, their momentum was halted as the terrifying reality of the Wyrm being much more physically superior in terms of body strength set in for the Spider.

After all, who would win in arm wrestling, a chihuahua-sized white tarantula or a fully legit shrimp Dragon?

As to why the Wyrm didn't simply dodge, he figured that his previous strategy wasn't really going to work as the Spider was much, much faster, probably due to her own overpowered Skill that would soon be his.

Therefore, it was better to just take the damage. He could just heal even if the bleeding was too great.

By catching the Spider and restraining her from moving, he also solved the speed gap problem.

The Wyrm looked down on Rend's inferno, the blaze consuming every part of the floor. He could drag the Spider down there and be done with it, the Wyrm was immune to fire damage, after all.

But he realized he couldn't do so since Muc was still on him, the Wyrm saw potential in the Slime as this new subordinate of his could prove to be another valid source of power for him, Venom style.

So the Wyrm did what any sane draconic creature would. The Spider widened her red eyes as her arms were spread out and a certain light flashed before her face.

The Wyrm raised his non-existent eyebrow as he felt an intense pulling force originating from the Spider, he ignored it as the blast of fire and light roared in his mouth.

"!!!" Without warning, the Spider reared back violently before completely detaching her frontal limbs, self-mutilating herself as she then used the opportunity to slip to the side, barely dodging the Wyrm's blazing breath weapon.

The Wyrm froze as he felt a subtle pressure stabbing through his entire being, weakening him slightly as he saw the Spider's eyes glow with demonic light.

Taking the opportunity with the distracted Wyrm, the stumps that the Spider's arms used to be located at shone a purplish light as a pair of magic circles hovered over them.

The circles swelled and grew to large proportions before tiny bullets of poison manifested behind them.

'Ah...' The Wyrm sighed before he expelled himself back up to the roof and gripped it with an iron-solid hold.

What happened next could only be described with three words; Poison Magic Railgun.

The Wyrm ran across the ceiling as the still-falling Spider shot out a barrage of Poison Bullets that exploded upon impact to create poisonous gas clouds. With the use of [Dimensional Manuevering] and [Heavy Attack], the Wyrm was able to successfully evade most of them, but a portion of those bullets had managed to hit him.

He could have possibly vaporized the bullets with fire, but that wouldn't really solve the poisonous gas issue.

The Spider turned around as her magic railgun now faced the much larger Overlord of the Middle Stratum, smoke billowing out of his nostrils.

"ROOOAAAAR!" The Dragon released another earth-shaking roar as he faced the bullets head-on, seemingly unbothered by the powerful poison.

The Dragon, with his serpentine lower half, pushed himself forward with his mighty forelimbs, quickly rushing in the Spider's direction with a ferocious glint in his bestial eyes, adopting a posture not too dissimilar to a fiery Skull Crawler.

In just a few moments, the Fire Dragon was already below the falling Spider as he opened his jaws to act as a kind of bear trap before jumping up to devour the Spider whole.

"WAIT, NO!" Rend briefly heard the Wyrm's voice over telepathy, but it was already too late as his jaws clamped down with a boom.

Damned Spider has some good Jedi mind tricks...
