'Ah, this ain't enough...' Killing the Lobster hadn't given him another level, quite frustrating...

'An Evolved Monster like this... I would have leveled up had I still remained as a simple Gunelift...' It was simple logic, the more power one had, the harder it was to get more.

No one likes logic.

The Wyrm released a short burst of air from his nostrils as he looked toward the side... Laying on the floor was the corpse of a Sea Horse, an all too familiar Sea Horse.

'Mummy...? Holy shit, what a small world...' One had to remember that only about a week has passed since the Wyrm's untimely inception.

His Mother had been persecuted and killed by her own kin for carrying the sin of being the parent of a certified freak, yet her rotten cadaver remained uneaten.

Understandable, not everyone could bear eating the flesh of their race—Of course, the Wyrm wasn't included in the 'Everyone' category.

—Crunch~!*

'Salty... Quite succulent for a Sea Horse, perhaps Mothers possess a certain unique taste...' Or perhaps the Wyrm just had a thing for young Mothers...

'Now, time to taste the Lobster, baby... Hey Larry, you want a bite?' The Wyrm asked his Minion he took a meat chunk out of the lobster.

"Gro... (No.)" Well, his loss...

With another crunch, the Wyrm took a cookie-cutter bite out of the corpse.

—BARF~!*

'Ugh, what the hell... That taste nothing like Lobster!!!' It tasted like a wet Desert Scorpion, very bitter with a peculiar aftertaste...

"Cro'gar! (That's why I didn't wanna get a bite, Master!)" Okay, so it wasn't the cannibalism that drove away the Minion, Lobsters just taste very bad in this world...

—Gurgle~!*

'Uh, what the hell... That actually messed up my tummy! Guess some Skills have really nasty side effects...' With Quick Digestion, the Lobster's meat was quickly broken down by his stomach acids...

Even if Foul Feeder blocked out any harm from consuming most foods, the disgusting taste still burned on his tongue.

'Ugh-' The sound of a far-away rumbling interrupted his thoughts.

'Huh, what was that...!?' The Wyrm and his Minion immediately got behind one another to cover their backs, he glanced in multiple directions at once, searching for the source of the sound.

'...'

"..."

Nothing came out.

'Huh... Must have been the wind-' It was, in fact, not the wind.

—BAAM~!*

The nearby magma pool erupted into the sky as the monumental form of a reptilian creature leaped out with a quick burst of power...

It was...

'Uh...' The Wyrm and his Minion couldn't stop shaking as the Beast. ascended from the lava...

The Monster's long and serpentine head glanced down toward the tiny Wyrm and his Lobster minion, a single claw was already much larger than even the pony-sized Larry...

It had fiery red scales the color of an inferno, and a pair of long spike-like horns jutted out of its head, adorning the Beast like a crown of bone.

From its long snout, a huge lance-like spike protruded. When the Monster's gaping maw opened, a valley of daggers was revealed to the world.

Two humongous spikes adorned the Beast's shoulders, acting like a substitute for the pair of wings often present in most of its kind

Its pupils were like the stars of a compass, bathed in the red-hot lava pools that were its eyes. A breath of death was let out as the Beast exhaled several puffs of ashen smoke from its nostrils.

...A Dragon.

The Wyrm froze as the Dragon's long snout neared his location. His Minion was already long gone, taking advantage of his Master's fortuneless fate of attracting the Overlord's attention...

...At least, that was what the Wyrm expected him to do. Instead, the Minion had stayed, remaining at his Master's side as the Dragon approached near.

The huge pools of lava that were the Dragon's eyes glanced down at the Wyrm...

"Submit." Just this singular word alone sent the Wyrm's mind spiraling to oblivion.

A suppressive force overwhelmed his mind, enforcing the Dragon's dominion over Wyrms.

The Wyrm nearly collapsed to the floor as he faced the Dragon's overbearing will.

'I refuse.' The Wyrm barked back as he stood his ground, utilizing all of his thinking power to remain conscious.

"Submit." The Dragon repeated as he held his chin high, literally looking down as the Wyrm as eerily human-like grin made its way into his scaly face.

'I REFUSE!!!' The Wyrm shouted toward the Dragon yet again, standing his ground with a defiant gaze.

「The Skill ~Stupidity~ has leveled up, LV raised to 3.」

"How amusing..." The Dragon bellowed out, pushing the Wyrm to the floor with just the simple act of speaking.

"Orders are to be followed... Run!" Rend shouted before the lava pool erupted as the Dragon leaped out of the magma with arms outstretched.

—ROAAAAR~!!!***

No more words were required for the Wyrm to understand what the next best course of action was...

'NIGERUNDAYO!!!' The Wyrm screamed out loud as he Expelled his Minion into the air, shortly before doing the same for himself.

"Aaaagh~!" The Lobster screamed as his form was suddenly launched into the air, the Wyrm rushed to him before linking limbs with the Minion, mounting on his back.

'Go Larry! I choose you!!!' The Wyrm ordered as more and more Expels were used to launch the pair higher and higher.

The Dragon looked up at the pair with a curious yet bemused expression, he then slowly waddled in their general direction, putting very little effort into the actual chase.

"raur..." The Dragon let out an indolent roar before sending out a very tiny ball of pure inferno, flying up to the Wyrm with unbelievable speed.

—BAAAM~!

The impact wasn't so tiny...

"AAAHHH!!!" The Wyrm and his Minion fell in a spiraling pattern as their forms descended back to the hard rocky floor.

「The Skill ~Impact Resistance LV 1~ has been acquired.」

Oof.
