/"Callie, look at you!/" Amy said as she walked through the front door with her youngest daughter, Hailey’s, hand in hers. /"You look ready to pop,/" she laughed before turning to look at Hailey, /"go find Matthew,/" she told her getting her to nod before running off to find my son who was nearly 4 like her. They were born 2 weeks apart and had been best friends since they could crawl. Amy had warmed up to me more and more over the first few months of Colt being on the team. When her husband had gotten injured almost a year later, most of the team wives had practically turned their backs on her but I offered help in any way I could. Watching their kids while she worked and making dinner several times a week until her could at least get around to do that, led to us talking and getting closer and closer. Now, next to Liz, she is my best friend.
