"Wait what...?"

Less than a second later, instead of the dark nothingness, light filled his eyes once again. A blinding light, slowly morphing into the beautiful scenery of a forest and lake.

"Where the fuck am I?"

As he was looking around in his confusion, he suddenly found himself in a lot of pain. Looking down at himself, he could see that both his legs were broken and the bones in his right hand appeared to be completely shattered.

Instantly following the physical pain, was a strong gush of mental pain. Mental pain so overbearing that he almost completely forgot about his physical state.

Trillions of memories came rushing into his head all at once. The splitting pain caused him to throw up blood twice before it finally settled. Now all he had to do was sort through these new memories.

He couldn't believe it. This world he was now in, it contained the immortal cultivators he always wanted to be like. Hell, this body even has the tragic backstory you'd expect from a protagonist in this kind of genre!

His name in this life was Su Yang. A stark contrast of his 'white' name from his previous life.

He was the bastard child of the matriarch of the Celestial Sword Sect. A five star sect, making it among the 5 powers of the country. His father, wasn't the patriarch but instead a man known as the 'Sword Maniac'. Legend has it that by himself, he eliminated the 6th power of the country. However, due to the fact that his father is always traveling, his father couldn't protect him, and even his own mother turned her back on him.

Labelling him as useless, she orchestrated for him to be beaten, crippled, and killed. However, his body just so happened to become a vessel for his soul.

After the mental pain disappeared, he was once again overcome by the feeling of pain from his body.

"Fuck... even If I'm given this second chance, what is there for me to do? With a body in this state, I probably won't make it through the night."

Just then, he remembered the robotic like voice in his head shortly before awakening. There's no doubt that this was the same voice.

Shortly after the message sounded, he felt an excruciating pain in his legs. His legs were currently realigning and healing themselves. Soon after, his hand began to bubble, and shortly after he could visibly see the bones reconstructing on the inside of his hand.

"Fuck..." The pain was simply far too great.

He had been shot, stabbed, burnt, poisoned, just about anything you could think of in his past life, but feeling his bones reconstructing at a rapid rate was far more painful than any of those injuries.

Before he finished speaking, his entire body began deteriorating. Then reconstructing. This process happened hundreds of times, before it finally stopped. When it finished, he could feel that his body had become stronger, however, he didn't know what exactly happened.

As the shop opened, Su Yang was sat there scrolling through hundreds of options. Eventually he found himself in the Martial Skills.

There was a seemingly infinite number of skills, ranging from skills of this world, to the skills of novels and manga.

Eventually he settled on these skills.
