episode 62 The clock keepers

"Shijima" has refused to sign the paper and kicked the team without a second thought, now the team have to face other mysteries to get closer to the truth.

It is class time, "Keti" and "Fey" are doing some class activities.

Teacher: alright class, let's wrap it up for today and continue tomorrow.

Once "Keti" steps out of the class, everything instantly turns out to be undone, "Keti" and "Fey" are back in class.

Teacher: for today we're going to do some activities, make sure you write down everything.

Keti: [confused] what? Didn't we do that just now?

Fey: what do you mean? We haven't even started yet.

"Keti" finishes the activity again and the teacher says the same sentence, as she steps out of the room, it is undone again and the teacher says the same sentence of beginning the activity.

Keti: [surprised] same tone and same position, something is not right, [raise hand] teach, can I go to the toilet, please?

Teacher: that's fine, but you better come back quickly because we're about to start.

She steps out of the room again and it becomes undone.

Keti: [surprised] (what's going on here? I keep coming here to do the same activity, the moment I step out of the class, I'm back here…something must be keeping us captive).

She tried staying till class is over, instead of stepping out of the room she stayed in her seat and waited.

Fey: aren't you gonna come outside to get some fresh air?

Keti: I'm fine here, you can go on ahead.

Fey: suit it yourself.

Once "Fey" steps out of the class the same process happens.

Keti: [surprised] … (maybe I should better wait, if stepping out means triggering a loop, then there's no point in doing anything).

She did the same process and waited for the class to end.

Fey: aren't you gonna come outside to get-.

Keti: you know what? How about we both stay here and wait for the others to come back, what is there to lose anyway?

Fey: that's a change of pace, [sit] what makes you want to stay in class?

Keti: …do you really not remember seeing me asking to go to the toilet?

Fey: that's because you didn't, why do you act weird about it?

Keti: something really weird is going on, if we step out of the class, everything resets and we do the same activity again.

Fey: … really?

"Fey" stands up and suddenly rush out of the class.

Keti: [surprised] ([yell] "Fey", what is wrong with you, you think this is fun)?

She repeated the process again and this time "Fey" were to walk out.

Keti: [panic] don't move.

Fey: something wrong?

Keti: (think fast, don't let her walk out), [point out] cockroach.

Fey: … really? [step].

Another time but "Fey" asks.

Fey: aren't you gonna-.

Keti: sit down.

The moment "Fey" sits down "Keti" began to feel disappointed about her.

Keti: when I try to convince you to stay, you keep stepping out of the class, what's so fun about a time loop?

Fey: are we stuck in a time loop?

Keti: if I say yes are you going to trigger it?

Fey: it is funny when you repeat the scene multiple times.

Keti: we better not trigger the time loop and wait here until the next class.

Fey: … you won't be able to handle it, this time loop might run endlessly…unless [walk to the exit], unless you enjoy it.

"Fey" takes a step outside the class and everything is undone once more to the time they begin the activity, suddenly a smoke grenade came out of nowhere and covers the whole class.

Teacher: everyone, just settle down, don't go anywhere, whoever pulled this prank can you please show yourself; this isn't funny.

"Wreck" comes out of nowhere and grabs "Keti" and "Fey".

Keti: [surprised] "Wreck"?! what are you doing here?

Wreck: not now, we need to get out of here, follow me.

He brings them to the "Egress" world and escape the loop.

Fey: what is happening? Why are we not doing the class activity?

Keti: what is wrong with you? How can you keep forgetting that we're in a time loop?

Wreck: ignore that fact, "Keti", we "Skarvenians" have a unique mind figure, we're the only ones who can resist having our minds reset to that specific time, this is a work of the clock keepers.

Keti: a mystery is behind this! But why would the set it on us?

Wreck: think carefully.

Keti: we were actually in a trial to have all 7 of them sign the paper, are they trying to prevent that from happening?

Wreck: perhaps, or perhaps we already did, "Kako" controls the past, "Mirai" controls the future, and "Akane controls the present.

Keti: so that would mean "Mirai" saw the future to his disliking, then told "Kako" to prevent it!

Wreck: we should probably have to travel to their domain.

Keti: yeah, but first, we need to do something about that loop.

Fey: ooh, ooh, can I try something?

Keti: [sweat] I hope it's not a time loop trigger.

Meanwhile "Kako" was watching the whole area in plain sight, getting very confused about the time loop events.

Kako: augh, what the hell is going on here? The time loop should be able to erase all the memories so that they can't suspect any of it, how can that girl still remember?

"Kako" checks the halls and sees the "egress" gate opened, "Fey" comes out half of her body and used her booster flames on the floor, it set "Kako" on fire burning him.

Kako: [panic] augh, it burns, it burns, who are those children?!

The team went to chemistry lab and started destroying everything before the next class arrives, the teacher has set the room to off limits so that no one could enter.

Fey: for what reason was it to trash the lab?

Keti: just by boosting "Kako", his powers are in an overheat period.

Wreck: so the lab can be our decoy to keep him busy using only a pinch of his powers to fix it slowly, since he knows that we were gonna come to the lab just to plan for our next attack.

They entered the domain of the clock keepers, "Mirai" has expected that this would happen so she left a trap for them where they will see all sorts of misfortune future events.

Keti: [surprised] what is this? Is this the end for us?

"Fey" uses her booster flame on "Keti", she felt very annoyed about it.

Keti: [angry, yell] why would you do that?

Fey: we don't need to see that.

Keti: [yell] but did you had to use your booster flames on me?

"Keti" looks around and sees a lot of different clocks floating in the air.

Mirai: who would have thought, booster flames can cancel out my trap.

"Mirai" appears out of nowhere.

Wreck: do you know me…then you must know tha-.

Mirai: we can't have you tampering with all the mysteries, you're a threat to us all, a very dangerous figure that should have just left when you had the chance.

Wreck: you do know I already lost tracks!

Mirai: what brings you to come this far to mess with us? Leave earth now, maybe then I'll reconsider of their fates.

Wreck: [serious] …you already know what my decision is, so why haven't you made your move yet?

Few of the clocks started aiming at "Wreck", they shot laser beams towards "Wreck", the 3 of them went running and trying to find a place to cover themselves.

Mirai: there is no point hiding, you are inside our domain.

Fey: what happens next?

Keti: what do you mean what happens? We need to find a way to defeat "Mirai", got any leads?

Wreck: I can defeat her but we're still going to fall at the process, you can't kill a belief with the state we're in, unless.

Keti: if we can't kill a belief then it's hopeless to struggle for something like this.

Wreck: how about we think of it this way, stop using external logic and go for the internals, what if the beliefs work like the internet, if "Kako" means backwards, and "Mirai" means forward, then what about "Akane", if we kill her instead?

Keti: [surprised] that would come to the conclusion, they are powered by "Akane's" existence.

"Wreck" summons his revolver, turns the cylinder once and gave it to "Keti".

Wreck: it's the only way around, find "Akane", kill her without a second thought.

"Keti" felt that it's more of a heavy burden to grab a weapon and kill someone.

Keti: [terrified, heavy breathing] what? Isn't there another way?

Wreck: "Keti", look at me…this is about saving time, if time doesn't move then we're done for forever…it's fine, even if you hesitate, for the sake of time you have to do something about it, [push] now go.

"Keti" went to find "Akane" while "Wreck" and "Fey" will try fighting "Mirai".

Wreck: look at me, "Mirai" …tell me what would happen at the end of this cutscene.

Mirai: …nothing.

Fey: doesn't that mean we'll be stuck in a loop again?

Wreck: there is something between that line, she's not telling us what that means.

Clocks kept shooting at them and they started dodging, meanwhile "Keti" meets "Akane" at her room, it is completely black and white, the scene where "Keti" is doing the today's activity but only a few students are present, "Akane" is sitting on "Keti's" seat doing the activity, as they meet eye to eye "Akane" is frightened about it.

Akane: [terrified] how are you here? This is not possible.

Keti: "Kako" and "Mirai" are quite busy, aren't they? [step forth]

Akane: stay away from me.

Keti: putting me in a loop like that, I'm not gonna rest up.

Akane: a loop? That's "Kako's" work.

Keti: I was told, you are the source of their power, by your existence I just can't seem to rest.

"Wreck" and "Fey" are dodging the laser beams. The moment they reach her most of the clocks got a direct hit on them, it made their organs grow rapidly till it decays.

Mirai: there is no point trying, give up and leave while you have the chance.

Wreck: …there are things that are most likely unspoken from certain travelers.

"Fey" used her booster flames on herself, it literally canceled the decaying and healed her completely, "Wreck" can shift his decaying body canceling it, it confused "Mirai", terrifying her to the point she loses confidence.

Wreck: for someone like me, you should already know that it's futile to attack me, we're going to save time and stop you from your madness.

Mirai: [yell] that won't be possible, get away from me.

Their battle continues as "Mirai" struggles to kill the 2 of them, meanwhile "Keti" is still trying to reason with "Akane".

Akane: there is nothing I can do to stop them, I can't control their powers nor can I stop it, since I'm the source they told me to stay in the room and do nothing.

Keti: not so friendly, are they? Have you ever considered leaving?

Akane: it's too late for that now, they made a permanent loop right before I know it, I'm stuck here forever.

Keti: …and what if you were to ascend from this world…would you have escaped?

Akane: …so it comes to this, since there is no other way around…am I really going to die? Is that gun going to do the trick?

Keti: this belongs to "Wreck", he is a very peculiar person when you get to know him, so positive that he couldn't even kill a single life form…it was strange when he told me to kill a mystery.

"Mirai" is beginning to lose once "Wreck" got close to her, he then did a heavy spin kick attack and launched her to a wall, the moment he walks towards her she remembered the future vision not changing at all.

Mirai: so this is how it's going to be! [laugh]…if I can't change the future then might as well deplete everything with me.

Wreck: you don't have to do this, you can't just-.

Mirai: destroy time itself along with everything? And that's what I'm gonna do, you're not going to win, not you nor "Grimm Troupes" himself.

"Mirai" unleashes a blackhole swallowing everything in its path along with "Wreck and "Fey", the whole world is beginning to get swallowed till there is nothing left, it reached "Akane's" room, consuming the walls and the corners.

Akane: she finally made that decision, if time is gone, the universe won't standout, it's all over now.

Keti: …there's one thing I haven't done just yet, are you ready?

Akane: [yell] can't you see? There's nothing left out there, even if you kill me, what is that going to solve? I'm not capable of doing this, even though I'm the source of their power they're already dead, which makes this blackhole controllable, what makes you think you can fix all this?

Keti: [look at the revolver] he gave me this gun for a reason, even if I used a sharp object to kill you…but giving me a gun would mean he knows something…that damn expert, one year younger than me and he's still the smartest, I truly blame him for being third place in that exam event.

Akane: you always talk about that boy, you talk about how smart he is, how unreadable he could be.

Keti: "Wreck" knows everything about you all, I guess there is only one thing left to handle, how clever he could be by giving me this gun.

Akane: …[sigh] what are you going to do in this universe once it's gone? Look at nothing for the next few days? And why do you do your job even though you can't finish it anymore?

Keti: well at least we both are gonna have our history written, won't we?

Akane: [laugh] true, that's very true…pray the god would bring you to a new beginning.

"Keti" gives "Akane" the sheet to sign on it then shoots her in the head with the revolver, suddenly "Keti" appeared sleeping in the classroom, the teacher was calling until she woke up.

Teacher: are you alright? We have an activity to do.

Keti: oh, I know this one.

She answers the exact same questions without a single thought, after class was finished, she was about to step out of the class, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes then try to take a single step, suddenly nothing happens as if the loop was lifted, after school the team came to the chemistry lab.

Keti: alright guys, since we got the time to go for a mystery, we could at least go for the clock keepers and finish with them as quick as possible.

Wreck: so, you haven't told "Akane" to sign the sheet?

Keti: what are you talking about? That was all undone, isn't it? But "Akane's" death won't be undone after that.

Wreck: you did save time, right? Without "Akane" the other 2 are powerless, good things she's in control now.

Keti: [confused] what? But I killed "Akane", why would you assume that-?

Wreck: first things first, at her current level she could have died with one shot, right? But what I haven't told you is that I've got attributes for my bullets, if you haven't noticed I switched the bullet, so when you shot her, it was a death fake bullet, that would mean she's still alive, secondly, that sheet belongs to a "Yokai", whenever a mystery signs it it's permanently there.

"Keti" was surprised, she checked the sheet and there she sees "Akane's" signature.

Keti: I admit, next time could you please fill us up on everything you know? Your expertise must be higher than mine.

Wreck: agreed.

Fey: so, we're not going for the clock keepers?

Wreck: you won't remember doing that, we've done it a long time ago.

Keti: yup, no point remembering that anyways.
