"Keti" wakes up in her room wondering how she got home, she went brushing her teeth and washing up as everyone in the morning, during breakfast she's the only one who cooks for her family.
Wreck: good morning.
Keti: good morning to you too, can you recall what is going to happen these school days now?
Wreck: … experts' showdown?
Keti: so, you ain't gonna run away from it, are you? This is to prove who's the smartest.
Wreck: do we need a referee for this?
Keti: who needs a referee when you can memorize scores?
Wreck: a referee to start up a scoreboard, an agent that would tell you what your opponent got, because we won't be share any information about ourselves, right?
Keti: fair enough, let it be 2 referees, I already have mine but what about you!
Wreck: no, but I know a better referee for the job.
At school they both made a math showdown before the class could even start, the chalk board has loads of answers and equations, as the teacher walks in he got freaked out by the math showdown that was done on the board, suddenly erasing it start up the class, once the class is over the students would spend their time before another class starts.
Wreck: hey, excuse me, "Rin" …I'm about to battle "Keti Yamazaki" in a brain showdown, could you do me a little favor and be my referee?
Rin: I, uh.
Female student: go for it, "Rin", it's your chance.
Rin: … okay.
Wreck: it's just a simple request, I'm sorry if it's going to bother you for a few days.
Rin: n-no, it's okay, I can do it.
The teacher went to the office and gives an announcement.
Teacher: ahem, [deep breath] attention everyone… I don't know if I'm going crazy but…there are students battling with their expertise, I just entered the classroom, the whole chalk board is filled with math equations…not just that, the math equation is of a level of a professional.
Teacher (1): [surprised] are you sure it's not something they were taught?
Teacher: [panic] the lesson was not even in the syllabus, I'm starting to lose my mind and asking, are those students even supposed to be in school?
Teacher (2): calm down, if there is a student who would know such thing we would find them, such a student will be graduated earlier than anyone else, right? You should take a rest; we can handle this.
The teacher explained everything to the admin and the principal, they assembled every class to the school playground to give an announcement.
Principal: good evening, everyone…as you all know there are some of you who studied hard to get this far in our beautiful school, but where are the manners to come up with lessons that is not even in the syllabus? That gave me a clue to know some of you are experts amongst your class so, we brought you to join the "IGCSE" for advanced classes, perhaps those who care about learning could step forth and give us an idea, how about it?
Keti: (clearly you wouldn't miss that out, even though I don't want to join I still must step in for this battle).
Every student with highest level of expertise stepped forth, including "Wreck", "Keti", and "Yukine" to join the advanced classes.
Wreck: [raise hand, yell] …I declare an exam war, a battle between high level students to participate and compete in every last exam.
Keti: (you must be proud of yourself, declaring war in front of the whole school) [raise hand] I accept into competing in this war.
Yukine: [raise hand] I also accept into competing in this war.
All other high-level students had accepted "Wreck's" idea without any second thoughts.
Principal: (interesting, that new transfer student makes such a heavy decision, despite being in this school less than 2 weeks), since we'll be settling for the classes, for those who've agreed with the terms shall be given 2 days preparation to study for 5 sections, it will be around 7-8 exams, after that the ranking system will be issued in 3 days… is there any objections?
Those who agreed stayed silent, however the whole class were muttering about how is it possible to study for 8 exams in 2 days.
Principal: it seems you're all agreeing with the terms we've provided, it's great meeting you all here, and I'll see you for the exams, you are dismissed.
It is after school, "Wreck" and "Keti" are at the library looking for some books.
Keti: do you all even do this in "Skarven"? I mean this exam wars.
Wreck: … it's too risky for any of us to start up an exam war in the first place, "Skarven" lore 36…exam wars are only for those who would focus on further independence, the risk is that it all being bet on your gradings, you fail you go all the way back to grade 1, you win you'll graduated immediately to an advanced university.
Keti: is that even a rule? If you ever had the opportunity to be graduated that much, will you take it?
Wreck: I have better things to do than to jump levels like that, everyone has a conflict, you know.
2 students were looking for books on the second floor, the book was stuck that it is hard to pull out, one of them got pushed off the fence and fell, "Wreck" went saving that student in time.
Wreck: in fact, I was a library clerk when I was younger, accidents like these comes by chance that it can happen.
"Wreck" walks out of the library without finding a book to take.
Keti: (2 years in a library, not a big surprise despite I went through the same process, I've been studying more than you did so, don't get too cocky about it), so much for an expert.
At home "Keti" is studying for exams even if it's only 3 days away, while "Wreck" is just lazing around and doing nothing.
Ayami: [yell] "Keti", where is the dinner?
Keti: not hungry, mom, it's in the oven… (just you wait, you're gonna regret not taking this seriously).
The next day all the high-level students went to the IGCSE class room and wait for the teacher.
Yukine: I didn't know you would take things so quickly…despite coming here for less than a month.
Wreck: … it's not that I'm being hasty about it, I'm just here to compete in a battle.
Yukine: and if you did win this battle, you think you'll graduate immediately? Where are you gonna go next?
Wreck: a battle between experts is an honor of hierarchy and revealing our respected positions, battling the brethren doesn't always come to the conclusion to despise one another, but to swear an oath to the ones who ranked higher than you, could also mean the pride of the lowly expert.
Yukine: wise words, but if one to swear an oath before the end of this battle can be a life matter situation, one expert is more anxious to the other, who knows if there was an enemy sitting next to you.
The teacher enters the class and starts up an exam plan and gives out what sections they should focus on until the final day where the exams will start.
Keti: alright…here goes nothing…an expert…vs all other experts, (that includes the outsider expert who knows too much), [slap cheeks] show me what you got, I can do this.
In the first 3 hours the students are instructed to finish 3 exams, most of the students were losing hopes, only a few of them were able to complete it in time, after finishing the first 3 exams they were given a 30 minutes break to get ready for the others so they all went to the cafeteria, "Keti", "Wreck", "Rin", "Yukine" and "Fey" sat on the same table.
Fey: [exited] this is wonderful, "Yukine" and "Rin" have joined the round table.
Keti: pfft, what the hell?!
Wreck: it's not always a big surprise, "Rin" here is a reliable companion, and "Yukine" is a very honorable young man who respects experts.
Yukine: you don't have to be so formal about us, I just came here to know this wise expert here, by the way, "Keti Yamazaki", you just hit me real hard with that logic you told me.
Keti: oh, is that so! Was I too aggressive towards you? I can promise you that I won't do that again.
Wreck: I can see just how much there's absolutely no sign of hostility in this table.
Keti: oh, I'm just getting started, these exams will be a piece a cake for me, unlike what you've been through.
Yukine: [surprised] been though?
Wreck: hah, is that so! 47 exams are one thing, 30 excellent, 10 goods and 7 averages, haste and intelligence is a peculiar combination, don't you think?
The bell rings and it's time for the rest of the exams to be cleared.
Wreck: just so you know the victorious has an unspoken flaw, if you would keep that in mind.
The students continued their exams, it took at least 5 hours until the final where everyone is tense.
Keti: (this is getting very unnecessary, I'm feeling very tired of answering one question after another, is this how it's always been? Unlike the ones "Wreck" took…come to think of it, "Wreck" never explained how "Skarvenian" exams look like, wait… [surprised] if that was unexplained then it should be very suspicious to see "Wreck" laze around like that, 47 exams and 30 excellent…were those the results or how he saw them? [panic] this is too careless of me; I was challenging a true expert this whole time…I'm screwed).
After the exams "Keti" walked straight home not knowing that she is all alone at night, she suddenly started running all the way home just to hit the bed and sleep skipping dinner, the next day she is feeling more anxious that she didn't even talk with "Wreck", "Rin" shows up during break time.
Keti: oh, hi "Rin" …so you're the referee "Wreck" chose, okay fine, come on tell me what he got, starting with math.
Rin: he got a B.
Keti: figures as much… [surprised] wait, what did you say?
Rin: he got a B.
Keti: what about physics, chemistry, history?
Rin: all B.
Keti: … [confused] what is he playing at?
The scoreboard has been listed and "Keti" saw her name at first place and "Wreck" at third while "Yukine" is second, "Keti" looked for "Wreck".
Keti: [yell] hey…I know that you know the right answers, how come you got a B?
Wreck: … I swore an oath…as the third expert I shall always get a B on everything.
Keti: [frustrated] so much for an expert, if you swore that oath to an expert friend then you are an even bigger idiot than I thought, because those who do that aren't real friends.
The principle called "Keti" to be assembled at his office.
Principle: please have a seat…do you have any idea to how much your scores are in the IGCSE? All your results are off the chart, with that in mind you'll be moved to a university just like that, would you like to accept?
Keti: …give me a minute to think…hmm…augh…I'm gonna have to decline.
Principle: … you know that your results are off the charts.
Keti: if I were to graduate, I would have done it with my friends, the idea of exam wars was that I wanted to battle someone, but that certain someone did not take this battle too seriously since he already knew all the answers.
Principle: and still let you win?
Keti: boys come up with the stupidest excuses, is that even logical?
Principle: I see why you would refuse; you may leave now.
After school the team stayed at the chemistry lab for a little while, "Keti" was feeling down on herself this whole time.
Fey: hey, why the long face? Cheer up, you're the victor.
Keti: the victor who competed with someone that laze around.
Wreck: come on, all that hard work wasn't for nothing.
Keti: like hell it wasn't for nothing, you could have told me you made an oath a long time ago.
Wreck: first, you never asked what oath I made, second, it wasn't that necessary, and besides, it's not always about the alien next to you, is it?
Keti: a tress passer than an alien, you know what? How about you make an oath to me, since you're just messing around your oath will be to become my servant, how about that?
Wreck: let's not take things a little too far.
Keti: nope, you'll become my servant, when I ask you a question you give an answer, nothing will be classified from now on, and when I give you a command you do it.
Wreck: [sigh] how unnecessarily impudent, that's fine, I swear to you with this oath my lady.
Keti: and let's not make this any weirder and talk to me normally like how you usually do, I don't want to hear 'my lady' or what so ever.
Wreck: as you wish, "Keti Yamazaki".
Fey: [pout, disappointed] not cool, this is totally not cool.
