"Dad? Is that really you?" Douglas' voice filtered through the phone after some few minutes, and Glover shut his eyes tight, taking in a deep breath. Hearing his son's voice made his heart squeeze.

"Son... It's me." He breathed. Before he could say anything else, Douglas broke down in low sobs, further breaking Glover's heart.

"Dad, you got us worried. So worried." He cried.

"I'm so sorry, son." Glover couldn't hold back his tears as he wept with his son.

There was a knock on the door and Glover shifted his gaze as one of the officers stepped into the room with a tray of food. He briefly glanced at the officer as he sobbed and continued speaking with his son in a low tone.

"I got into a pretty huge mess, that's why you were not hearing from me. I'm so sorry." Glover continued to reassure his son who kept sobbing. "Tell me, how's your mom doing?" He asked and heard the boy sniff before answering.
