Siren's Call.

She turned around to see his hands off the wheel. The car was slowing down. She looked at the fuel gauge, it was nearly full. The car coughed to a stop in the middle of the night road. George reached for the door but it didn't work. Immediately, Mandy turned her eyes to the bag between them. It was rattling just like Steve. They both backed up as much as they could. They could tell it was only just the beginning. The bag flew up and the book slipped out. Everything in the car that held little mass began to float. Her curly brown hair floated into vision. George's coffee cup went up, spilling it's contents in slow-mo. The book itself floated next to Steve and he quietened down. The book opened up and so did Steve's eyes, his eyes glowed blue. They were already naturally blue but now, it glowed, the flames within whipping like ethereal splendour. The entire car was bathed in the blue light. George's glasses captured the hue. Before their eyes, Steve read the book without reading because as Mandy saw, the pages were empty. Yet they flipped. His eyes running back and forth. What did he see? Seven teens discover something that will change their lives forever. They will become protectors, they will become heroes. But them must learn quickly because their journey has just began and trouble is only beginning!

MANDY MAHARI.

"Should we break in through the West wall or the East?" George's British tone hushed.

"Break in?" Mandy asked.

They were currently parked in their all black Corvette, which George used to run errands. They were parked outside the library building just across the street. Mandy wanted to get in. She wanted to get the book.

STEVE GREY.

The noise was long gone but still his eyes could taste the light. His ears burned to feel that book's pages once more. Steve had never felt like that before. Was that what being on a drug trip felt like? All of his senses were shattered and he saw the world in a new light.

He lay on his bed unable to know what was going on. He somehow knew the book and what it had done to him was dangerous yet he loved it. He had driven home and headed straight to bed.

He could hear noisome chatter outside as the family prepared for dinner but he couldn't join them when he felt like that. His body no longer felt like it was his, he lifted his arm without feeling like it was lifted. He was definitely tripping.

Suddenly, a force threw him across the bed and he slammed the wall. He groaned and tried to crawl away but it was like swimming in concrete.

"No, no, no!" he pleaded to nothing as the bed seemed to enlarge. There was no escape.

The strange force turned him. His face towards the ceiling. His body began to jump upwards. He felt like he was an unfortunate character in a horror film. Thing was, this wasn't fiction. He struggled to regain control but it was futile. His body had a master.

He was jerked upwards! His face came smashing into the concrete ceiling. He could not only feel the pain, he could hear it. His nerves screaming on impact. He fell down onto the bed. Before he could react, he was up in the air and this time he hit the ceiling even harder.

"Stevie." that was his little sister's call at the door. As if it couldn't get any worse, she began to turn the knob. The door opened a crack.

"No!" he yelled, rolling on the ceiling.

The door slammed shut, as if on command and the door locked. He heard her scream something but he was too busy trying to break free of the strange levitation.

"Mom wants you down for dinner." she said from the other side.

The force threw him to the widow wall and all the impact went to his arm. He bit his teeth to stop from screaming but he has to plead for the invisible thing to release.

"Just stop!" he yelled.

"Stop what?" his sister responded.

"What the hell is happening?" he yelled. Now he was being hit against the window wall and the thing dropped him onto his study table, breaking his lamp.

"I don't know, you tell me!" she yelled again. "Steve, are you okay in there?"

In an instant he saw himself in his mirror. A blue dust like thing surrounded him. Framing him from his tousled blonde locks right down to his toes. Without allowing him a proper WTF moment, the blue energy slammed him against the door. From the other side, he could actually see her.

He could make out his sister falling back in surprise. Well the surprise was on him because he was thrust back in the direction he came and he flew right through the window.
