Vince slowly opens his eyes, turning to the boy next to him, who’s still watching him closely, eyes wide open as if he’s ready to do whatever Vince needs him to if anything happens.
It reminds him of when he passed out on his first day of college and the first thing he saw when he woke up at the nursery room was Jack, eyes as big as they are right now, worrying for a boy he didn’t even know.
Vince smiles at the memory.
Jack notices and relief washes over his face, letting him smile back.
“Hey.” He says, keeping his voice small.
“Hi.” Vince whispers back.
“Are you feeling better?” Jack asks carefully.
Vince bites his lips and nods.
“I’m- I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened.” He looks down. “Suddenly I was too aware of everything around me and it felt like my mind was spinning and I couldn’t breathe.” He tries to make sense of it, but couldn’t.
Jack looks at him worriedly.
