CHAPTER XIII

Jack realizes one thing: time flies when he's with Vince.

He realizes when the nurse comes in with Vince’s dinner, letting them know it's already night time. They have been talking and laughing and sharing weirdly comfortable silent pauses all afternoon.

He learned that Vince loves the beach, because staring at the sea makes him forget about himself and sometimes he craves that. He also loves photography and to stare at paintings until they make him feel something.

Jack also found himself sharing things with the other he had long forgotten, like how he loves animals and used to dream about being a vet, and how he used to wait for the moon to come up in the sky when he was a kid, as if it was the kiss goodnight he refused to fall sleep without.

The more they learned about each other the more they wanted to know, and it was the kind of feeling that existed without any anxiety or doubt that it was mutual: they could feel it was.
