SIGMA: The Rise of a New Era

Are you ready to embark on a new adventure to a high school campus with teen werewolves, where the competition is not between Alpha and Alpha for the territory, but an Alpha and a Sigma- or are they even competitors? David Matthew, the Alpha-in-training of the Eclipse Pack has been preparing to take over the leadership of his pack and over the disputed Crescent territory by fighting his prime enemies- the Alphas of the Orion and Moon packs. But his expectations are largely subverted when he finally comes face-to-face with the rumoured Alpha of the Moon pack for the first time, Nora Rovery. _ Nora Rovery has led a mostly secluded life uptil now- scorned by her father, disregarded by her mother and her existence largely hidden from the public eye, under a carefully-crafted web of lies. She has understandably set high hopes for her first day at the new high school- which promptly seems like a bad idea within the first thirty seconds of encountering the school bully, David Matthew. Come along on this ride with David and Nora, who are born to be enemies, but end up forging their own path, true to their rebel spirits.

Plans for escape

Nora quickly turned to look at Myron, who was standing behind them and looking at them with...confusion? curiosity?

Who knows.

Only then did it dawn on her to look at the situation she was in from an outsider's perspective. She was standing there with Robin, the only article of clothing on whose body was the towel wrapped around his waist; the boy was holding one of her hands while her other hand was still on his shoulder in order to stop him, as she had wanted to explain that professor Romera had brought her there.

She was doomed! And this time, for sure.

The sounds of footsteps and chatter from outside the lobby got louder as they were getting closer, and the panicked beating of all three hearts intensified, unbeknownst to the rest.

Robin and Myron glanced at each other, and immediately after, Myron quickly came near her. He took her other hand from Robin's shoulder, saying "To. My. Room. NOW!"

The two of them lifted her midway in the air, and marched in stride as they carried her inside a room, all before she could utter a single word.

As soon as they reached inside the room, they plonked her on the chair and Myron was the one to speak up first.

"Although we have bought her here, I am afraid we won't be able to hide her for long, as her smell-"

Robin interrupted, "She is an Alpha. Relax, no one can detect her smell unless she wants! So I would say that we are safe on that front; but, we do need to go school. It will be a great problem if she is found absent, and the only time when we will get the wing vacant again will be the practice time-"

"What do you mean?! We can't keep her here for so long, because we both can't stay here as well. Have you forgotten the rule, or what?" Myron spoke over him, dismissing the plan that Robin was trying to formulate as he went along.

"I remember everything, but can you just shut up for a moment so that I think of a plan to make her escape from here- shifting, yes shape shifting!"

Robin exclaimed in joy after interrupting Myron in frustration earlier and getting to  a solution the following minute.

"But-"

Nora had finally managed to get over her surprise upon the events that had taken place one after the other, without giving her any room to breathe. She tried to join the discussion when Robin shut her up again, saying, "But they will know that she is an Alpha, and there has been no female Alpha in TCC wing yet."

Myron glaced at Nora and sensed her uneasiness by the expressions on her face.

He signalled Robin to stop, a signal Robin successfully ignored as he was not even looking at them while formulating, debating and refining his master plan, all by himself!

Myron realised that Robin was no good at this, so he had to handle it himself. He stepped forward and asked softly, "Nora , now tell me, what are you doing here, sister?"

"Brother, I had come here to see the different wings and to meet the students, so that I can decide which house I am going to select. Professor Romera has brought me here for the tour."

"Here? In the male wing?!" Myron was shocked beyond belief, struggling to break the entire scenario to her. "You can't visit the male wings, it's against the law. In fact, you might even get suspended for this!" "What do you mean- in the male wing? This was supposed to be my question: why are you guys in the female wing; and most importantly, what are you doing here, Robin? Isn't this the beta wing?" She looked at the two boys, waiting for them to explain themselves.

Robin spoke with a deadpan expression, "I had understood by now that you don't have a brain or the thing people usually possess, called 'common sense'. But pretty young lady, you do have your eyes! Right? Let me remind you again, in case you have forgotten, that they are for a purpose. And that purpose is known as 'seeing', they are not on your face just to make you look good."

"Hey! That's rude!" Nora was able to say only as much, when Myron piped up.

"I think I have an idea...let me look for Adrin! He is the only one who can help us."

"Adrin?" Robin turned to him with a frown on his face, and continued agitatedly, "You know that I don't-"

"I know you don't like taking help from others, but if you have better ideas at this very moment, why not tell me? Do you want me to wait till the sky collapses on our heads?" Myron interrupted him before he went into a spiral.

"Guys! I am still here!" Nora finally yelled. "Can anyone tell me what's going on, because I am confused to an extent that I didn't even know existed in my life before now."

Robin turned to Nora, and giving her a look that conveyed that he had already seen this coming, he retorted, "This announcement that you just made, this very statement that you are still here, is the only problem in front of me right now! So can you promise to keep your mouth shut, after I tell you what is going on? Here we go. First off- yes, this is a beta wing indeed, and we Alphas are free to live in whatever wings we want. But the royal Alphas mainly keep to the royal wings; and that is another source of confusion for me- why in the world is the highly protected princess, who has never been sent to school till now, touring the normal beta wing to stay in? And well, the confusion doesn't end here; because clearly, she has somehow managed to enter into the beta wing meant for males. And not in any beta wing either, the beta wing designated to most of the Orion pack, despite being from Moon pack herself! I'm sure even someone as clueless as you knows that members of these packs are born rivals of each other, and the heiress to the Moon pack is not safe here, even for a second."

He ranted everything in a single breath and inhaled sharply after the completion of his statement. He finally looked up and noticed the pale faces of Myron and Nora, which were carrying identically whitewashed pallor, but probably because of two different reasons.

"You-you can speak this much?!"

Nora was the one who shot her question first, not caring about the life threatening situation he had just mentioned in front of her.

Her words jolted Myron out of his daze and he snapped, "Robin! She is not aware of the web of politics spread around us, and the machinations that go on in the school on the daily, stop!"

"Hence proven, you don't know how to use your ears as well! Your Highness, can you please take a seat and spare us a moment to discuss something?" Robin addressed Nora, getting concerned after being made aware of just how naive she was.

"Myron, ask Adrin to come as soon as possible. I will be taking care of her in the meantime, so don't be worried. But remember, you do need to hurry as Ryan is also supposed to visit the wing today!"
