The Return

"Leon, Grim, how was your trip to the afterlife?" Leon began.

"Well," I started, "I fought Dad, and he's incredibly strong. He uses this thing called spirit blades. Turns out, it's not an affinity; it's just a technique he uses. The technique made me think my head was chopped off." Oshime must have been thinking to herself, "Knight, if you ever revive, I'm gonna kill you again."

Grim was next. "I had so much fun. I learned about my history and how strong I can become. I want to be way stronger than Lycone."

Oshime reassured us, "It's safe to go back to school, and your brothers are healed. Amy is almost done absorbing all the mana; her mana poisoning will be gone too."

Grim asked a follow-up question. "How was she poisoned in the first place?"

Mom explained it to us. "People have mana and also have mana capacity. If your mana exceeds that limit without using potions, you can get mana poisoning. But if you're from the Chaos race, like our whole village, then you can absorb mana at an alarming rate, expanding your mana capacity."

Grim attempted to ask another question, but Mom insisted, "Sorry, but you have bedtime."
