DOUBLE THREAT

Samantha Saenz is nine months pregnant and does not work. The reason why Samantha does not work is because of her husband, Asdrúbal Palacios, who asked her not to work, because he would work for both.

But what Asdrúbal did not tell is that he would be out of work and there would be little time for Samantha to give birth. Annoyed and out of himself, he decides to go to a bar for a drink and comes home, totally drunk.

"Bring me a beer!" Asdrúbal said completely drunk and without articulating the words well.

"You're drunk!" Samantha told him, smelling him of alcohol.

"Guess what you are! Now, bring me the beer I asked for!" Asdrúbal insisted, beginning to get impatient.

"Don't you want the llapingacho I just made? It was delicious and it's still warm," Samantha replied kindly.

Then, Asdrúbal gets up, goes straight to his wife, and hits her.

"Women like you, it's that we're out of work! My stupid boss fired me because she thinks I am harassing her. Is anyone going to want something with someone as ugly as her?" Asdrúbal said, in an arrogant tone.

"You're out of work and I'm pregnant! What are we going to do?" Samantha asked.

"The baby, the baby. If you had not gotten pregnant, right now, we would be fine," said Asdrúbal, as he took all the baby's toys, threw them on the floor and stepped on them.

"Enough Asdrubal! You promised me you wouldn't hurt me because I'm pregnant!" Samantha said, raising her voice.

Then Asdrúbal, grabs his wife's hair and drags her to the bathroom and throughout the journey, Samantha screams, asking him to stop, but to no avail.

He turns on the shower and gets Samantha into the bathroom. The water was extremely cold.

"Take a bath, you are a pig!" Asdrubal said, holding her shoulders tightly so that Samantha cannot get out of the shower.

"Asdrubal, please stop," Samantha said pleadingly.

"There you stay because you are dirty and disgusting!", He said that, screaming.

The screams that Samantha and Asdrúbal had, could be heard throughout the citadel, because they live in a closed citadel so one of the neighbors went to their house to see what was happening.

Paula, that is the name of the neighbor, she kept knocking on the door. Paula is not only Samantha and Asdrúbal neighbor; but also, she is the friend of Samantha's sister, Susana and sister of Felipe, Susana's husband.

"Dry off, that's that neighbor again! What a mess she is! Listen well to what you will say to her: that we are fine and that you fell for a fool. For wanting to help me with the shower, you stepped on the wrong foot and fell, that is what you will tell her Okay? And poor thing that the neighbor suspects something, "Asdrúbal said, while he threw a towel for her to dry.

When Asdrúbal opened the door, he had Samantha in his arms, and they were both pretending to be happy in front of Paula.

But Paula, who had already heard them fight and Samantha cry out for help, did not believe that false happiness.

"Samantha, are you okay? Why are you wet?" asked Paula, really concerned to see Samantha, completely wet, being pregnant.

"Nothing sister-in-law. Everything is fine. I just fell because I was helping my husband fix the shower, I stepped badly and I fell, that's all," Samantha said.

"Are you sure? Remember that you are pregnant and that you cannot do anything. You have to be resting so that your child is born safe and sound," said Paula, who was not convinced of that lie.

"Why don't you go into your own business and leave us alone? Stop being a busy old woman and go about your business!" said Asdrúbal Palacios, in an insolent and haughty tone.

Paula is a well-preserved forty-year-old woman married to Samantha's brother.

"I will, as long as I see that you do not continue to hurt Samantha! Remember that my husband is your wife's older brother, and he is the head of the military and you will not want to face him," Paula told him.

Then Asdrúbal remembered the times when José Alejandro almost beat him to death for mistreating his sister, Samantha, and just thinking about it made him nervous, but he did not show fear.

"Now, I'm leaving happy, after seeing your pale face when I mentioned my husband to you," Paula told him, leaving Samantha and Asdrúbal house, happy to have made Asdrúbal fear for Samantha's brother.

José Alejandro is the older brother, followed by Susana and finally, Samantha. He is an expert in martial arts and self-defense. At the same time, he is a marine and a military man.

More than once, José Alejandro had to intervene to defend Samantha from the mistreatment by Asdrúbal and when it seemed that Samantha would leave him, Asdrúbal always managed to get her to forgive him and that, managed to infuriate him and Susana too, who had to leave Samantha's defense.

"One of these days, he will beat you and your baby to death," his brothers told him on different occasions.

As always, Samantha chose to ignore it and always returned to her husband.

Two days later, Paula had to travel because she was informed that her husband is seriously injured and is asking to see her; so, Paula left, leaving Samantha alone and defenseless.

"Go easy that my son and I, we will be fine, I promise you," Samantha said, while hugging her sister-in-law.

"You take care of yourself. Now you are worth two," Paula told him.

"I promise you and tell my brother that I miss him and take care of himself and very much that, in Mexico, his family is waiting for him," Samantha told him.

"I will do so, sister-in-law. But what would make your brother immensely happy is that you separate from your husband; so that, you can have your baby without any problem," said Paula, while hugging Samantha.

"I know and I'll be fine, I promise," Samantha replied, trying to calm Paula down.

"Don't promise anything you can't keep," Paula told him, as she grabbed her bags and went inside to board.

Two weeks have passed since Samantha said goodbye to Paula, which did not give her time to miss her, because things were about to change and permanently.

Samantha was home alone when she opens the door and gives her a summons for her husband. Poor Samantha did not know what to do and all she could do was wait until Hasdrubal arrived.

"Asdrúbal, this came to you" and he hands him the summons. "What is it?", He asked, as he looked at it and could see that it is not good for him.

"What is it?" He insisted again.

"Damn it! It's a summons!" Hasdrubal said, really annoyed.

"Why did they summon you? Right now, they bring this summons, and we have no money and our baby is about to be born. Who will we turn to?" Samantha asked.

Then Asdrúbal looks hatefully at Samantha's belly. I could not believe that the baby is about to be born.

Asdrubal, full of anger and resentment, begins to savagely beat Samantha, making her fall to the floor and, on the floor, he unloads all his anger.

For more than two hours, Asdrúbal was beating and brutally mistreating Samantha, how the beast that she is.

She allowed himself to be dominated by anger and pride and released all his repressed feelings. He could not allow that baby to be born.

After two hours, in which he unloaded all his frustrations, he left, leaving Samantha, totally beaten, and engulfed in a bloodbath.

By maternal instinct or sixth sense, his sister, Susana, arrives twenty minutes after Asdrúbal left the house.

Upon arrival, he sees that the door was open and when he enters, he sees his sister brutally and savagely beaten and covered in blood.

Scared, she calls the ambulance and immediately arrives and takes them to the hospital.

While waiting, Susana decides to call her husband, Felipe, who was with José Alejandro and Paula and tells him what happened.

"Please, love, don't tell my brother. I don't want this to be more traumatic for Samantha," said Susana, who was trying not to cry.

"I'm sorry love, but your brother already knows the whole truth," he said as the three of them appeared at that moment.

"Little brother", was the only thing that Susana said to him, who would not stop crying.

When she could control herself, Susana tells the three of them what happened.

José Alejandro could not control his anger and the same happened with Felipe and Paula.

"Please don't do anything. We have enough of the terror Samantha had to experience. Let us not add any more damage," Susana said pleadingly.

"Where is the cursed one?" Felipe asked, annoyed.

"He is in jail. I had no choice but to report him and with the photos they took of Samantha, they will give him twenty to forty years in prison and that without counting the other demands of other people who are already making it effective. If we have that, they would be giving him life imprisonment, "Susana, who is a lawyer, ended up saying.

"I'm glad of his luck and that happens to him for being a macho who enjoys hitting women," said Paula.

"We are all happy about that. But my happiness is not complete after seeing how Samantha was and that she is about to lose our nephew and everything because of Asdrúbal", said Susana, in a sad tone.

"What did the doctor tell you, little sister?" José Alejandro asked.

"The doctor told me that the life of my sister and my nephew is in danger and he believes that one of the two or both will not pass tonight," Susana concluded.

"What ...?", José Alejandro, could not finish speaking, because he began to cry.

Nobody could believe all that Samantha had to live, in the hands of Asdrúbal who, being stubborn, always returned with him and now, both are in danger.

Soon after, the doctor appears and told them that, unfortunately, Samantha lost the baby and that she will never be able to give birth again.

After hearing that Samantha will never be able to have children again, because of Asdrúbal and at the same time, they were happy because Paula and Susana were pregnant and did not know what to say to Samantha.

"I hope that Sammy wakes up and realizes that Asdrúbal is not good and that, if he continues with her, he will end up killing her," said José Alejandro, sad and his voice breaking.

"What will our sister's reaction be when she finds out that she will never be a mother? What will our sister's reaction be when she finds out that we are pregnant? " asked Susana, sad and restless, after what happened.

"We do not know. Let us hope she doesn't reject us," said Paula.

"Nooooooo!" Samantha yelled and everyone went into the room to see what happened.

When they arrive, they see that the doctors, nurses, and the police were there, meeting with her and they had told her that she will never be able to have children.

"Why did they tell my little sister? Why didn't they wait for us to be the ones to tell them the truth?" asked José Alejandro, shouting with anger that he had, for having told him the truth, without them being present, and they also told him that Paula and Susana were pregnant.

"We have told him the truth, because he has to report it, before he goes out and does to other women what he did to him," said one of the nurses.

"She is not ready," Felipe intervened.

"Yes, it is and now is the time to act, before it is too late," said a member of the police.

"I will do it. I'll report it," Samantha said.

As soon as she left the hospital, Samantha went directly to the police department to report her husband, for abusing her, for killing her son and she told them, in detail, everything he did to her.

After two hours of explaining everything Asdrúbal did to him, they told him that he had to go to that address, to have photos taken of his entire body and to have some tests done.

Samantha went and took all the tests she was told to take.

The photos, exams, and marks that she has of the mistreatment she has suffered from her husband, of Asdrúbal, were the most convincing and strong evidence to put him in jail.

During the trial, the accusing party showed the judge, the jurors, the accused party's lawyer, and all those present, sufficient evidence of the mistreatment of the woman Samantha suffered by Asdrúbal.

After having heard both parties, the jury gave its verdict and found Asdrúbal, guilty of the mistreatment of the woman and gave him from forty to sixty years.

Samantha had asked her family for time to assimilate everything that happened to her and that is why she joined one of the organizations called "MAM", which means "Women contributing women."

"I need time for myself, to heal internally and externally. Congratulations on my nephews, but I need time for myself," Samantha said.

"How long would that be?" Susana asked fearfully after hearing her sister's decision.

"I don't know," only Samantha said.

"We will be visiting you," said José Alejandro, while hugging his sister.

"The truth is that I don't want them to visit me. I need time for myself and without you. Please give me time," Samantha said, tears in her eyes.

"It's okay," only his brother, José Alejandro, said.

"Remember that we will be there for you," said Felipe.

"I know, but I need to be alone. I need to heal, but alone," Samantha said.

And they do it like that. Samantha was in that organization, for six years and without receiving visitors.

After that, she left the organization, renewed and with plans.

He managed to start over and with the help of his family. Now, she is a women's lawyer and has her own law firm.

As for Asdrúbal, he died in jail.
