Chapter 2

As light made itself known once again I couldn't keep myself from laughing. The black dots on the white ceiling tiles kept moving creating funny designs like a silent comedy movie. I tried to clap while enjoying the show to discover the funniest thing I have ever seen. Snakes in fun party hats were wrapped around my limbs and blowing raspberries and tickling me.

As I was enjoying the snake party, a funny-looking lady with a serious face came in with an angry syringe in her hand. She needed to smile because laughter is the best medicine and she appeared to be a nurse so she should already know that.

I tried to reach her to help her smile but the snake party was still in full swing. Hahahahaha. She's coming closer, waddling like an albino penguin. The penguins should be happy. Everyone loves them. Hahaha. Penguins deserve to be happy. I need to make her smile. The snake party needs to stop. She has to smile! Hahahhahaha.

She used the angry needle on me. Haha. Smile albino penguin. Hah. Ha. Ha.

'I am getting tired of being forced unconscious and back over and over.'

'It appears I have a body again but I feel small.'

As I try to move I realize that I can't. I have restraints holding me down and am connected to a lot of monitors. Memories start to overwhelm my mind as I try to sort out everything I am learning about my life in DC. My parents owned a farm outside Central City. I was outside playing when I found a Fox hole with little kits. The mother must have been out getting food. The nine kits weren't scared and were playing with me when a loud explosion came from the city and the Shockwave knocked me unconscious. When I regained consciousness I felt a power inside but could never access it. My parents were In the city attending a science thing and were killed by flying debris. My so-called guardian sold the farm and kept the life insurance money. He disappeared quickly while leaving me nowhere to go. As an eight-year-old, I had to figure out how to survive by myself.

'So, that's how they will explain my power in this reality. I am glad I am not a stupid little kid anymore even if this body is only eleven. Should I confront the heroes with what little knowledge I have or should I practice my powers in private until I can protect myself? I need to learn to control everything I can do before trying to do anything else.'

I attempted to meditate to learn what abilities I was given and found it easy. A menu appeared in my head and I had a feeling I just needed to time about one of the options to select them.

Racial Powers:

Animal shape-shifting: As a Kitsune you can change your appearance between a full Fox and a full human.

As a Legendary Kitsune, you have two more forms. One is mostly human with a little Fox and the other is mostly Fox with a little human.

Foxfire: Magical fire on par with the most powerful known. It has purifying qualities that can be used to heal or harm.

Abilities:

Magical: Mana is doubled and the ability to learn all magic is increased. Mental and enchantment magic is greatly increased.

Multi-Tailed: as a Legendary kitsune each tail increases pools by x2 and can be moved individually.

Telepathy: Can read the minds of those that are close. The range will improve with practice.

Dream walking: Can enter targets' dreams and can control what the target dreams of.

Magic body: Immoral as long as there is enough magic in the air to recreate the body. Recreation may accrue heavy penalties.

'Not bad at all. Pretty good spread of stats and abilities. I'll figure out the spells later right now I need out of the restraints. The best way is going full Fox.'

As I started willing myself to become a Fox, I felt myself shrink and contort myself to different positions until I was on all fours. The sensation was hard to describe but now it is difficult to concentrate on anything because the sounds are incredibly loud. All my senses are heightened and out of control.

After roughly fifteen minutes of concentration, I was able to handle my new senses. As I jump down from the hospital bed to get used to moving with four legs I hear a conversation that intrigues me.

"Let me know if you are running low on the antidote for the Joker Venom. Joker's last attack was small but concentrated on a small area so the victims received more of it than they normally would have." Said a deep male voice with traces of anger.

"The adults should be fine but I am worried about the children. Their bodies are young and small. They may not be able to handle the Venom even with the antidote. I think it's getting stronger" Said an old female voice that sounded tired and devoid of hope.

"I will work on a better antidote now that I have a new sample." The gruff voice said.

"Thank you very mu…where did he go?" The tired old voice said.

'Time to test a few spells.'

I will myself into my human form. As I change back I feel not quite right. Like I am missing something.

I shake my head clearing my thoughts so I can concentrate on the Invisibility spell. While willing myself to become invisible I feel a small amount of energy leave and surround my body and I know that Noone can see me.

I make it to the elevator without issue and press the down button.

While waiting I feel someone watching me but am unable to find anyone.

Soon the elevator doors open and I ride it to the first floor and exit the building to the streets of Gotham.

Why am I in Gotham you ask? Because I was an idiot. I was stealing food from a fruit truck when the door got locked behind me and then we took a ride from Central City to Gotham.

Gotham has to import all of their produce daily because the city is so polluted most produce won't grow and the ones that will absorb the pollution and taste like shit.

Once again I feel energy exit my body and feed the aura that is surrounding me. The energy or mana will automatically renew my active spells. Good to know.
