Chapter Nine: Luciana

Wendy, Derex and Luciana decided to meet once more for proper interrogation.

Wendy was head of security so her presence here was much needed.

The gates clanked, whining open, and Wendy brought out the scared girl. The suspect sat opposite them but this time around, Derex was the one directly close to her. Wendy closed the gate.

"So, we're gonna start with a simple question." He interrogated, "what's your name?"

The nervous person in front of him gave an eye to her Luna, and after getting a go-ahead, she spoke nervously, "Stella.. Vincent Stella."

"Ok." Derex's method seemed more nice. He was putting on a black long sleeve shirt associated with a fine waist coat. He turned the chair backwards and sprawled his legs. "So what were you doing on the bridge that night, miss Stella?"

Luciana's attention grew.

Stella continuously rubbed her fingers together out of anxiety. Her tattered look stuck. "Nothing, just going over it." she looked down and bit on to the bottom of her lips.

Derex continued. "What did you see?"

Stella's eyes flashed Luciana's and she went on, rubbing her fingers together and Derex noticed she had hurt herself from her sharp nails. He quickly covered her joined hands with his palm to calm her down and Stella looked at him.

Luciana looked the other whilst rolling her eyes in annoyance.

There were no more words said.

Luciana breathed harshly.

"You know it'd be better if you just cease your breath." He said, then looked directly into miss Stella's terrified eyes and assured her with his that everything will be fine. Luciana looked at them in exasperation. "So, what did you see?"

Like a film show, the lady Stella's narration was so vivid.

The Night The Victim, Belle, Died:

It was late night and I had just finished my shift at work. I was walking home and noticed something uncanny. Belle was acting strange.

I saw her dancing on the bridge and that was the route I usually followed home.

I confronted her.

"Belle, what's wrong?" I asked her, but she just smiled at me weirdly instead. I then noticed she was drunk. "Let's go inside. You're too close to the edge." I held her palm but some weird thing scratched my hand so our hold disconnected.

Belle said something about wanting to be free. She glanced at me once more, I went close to her to drag her but she wrestled with me until she pushed me.

I shrieked still on the floor when I witnessed her jump over the bridge.

Aaaaaaaah!!!

End

"That's it."

With a raised palm, Derex commanded, "Luciana, don't. We will investigate her thoroughly in due time."

"In due time?! 'Detective' there's no time. The longer we stall, the harder it gets to find the killer."

"But to you that's already settled, right?" Derex questioned. He seemed annoyed. "Don't play games with me. We all know you think she did it."

"I don't… I have everyone's interest in heart."

"'Wanna be free' Hope Red City isn't a prison."

Luciana furrowed her brows, smouldering in anger. "Detective Derex, I appreciate you just do your job properly." She left the place.

Unalarmed, Derex, who looked like he had everything under control informed Wendy, "I'll interrogate her again next time, at the meantime, no one visits this place. Not even the Luna. I'll further my investigation by going to interrogate family members, friends, and know more about their background."

"Sure thing, Sir," She whined the gate close. "But it's weird you didn't ask more questions, don't you think?" Wendy gave a beautiful smile on her coloured glossy lips.

Broad Daylight In Luciana's Room.

She laid downwards on her comfortable bed with raised crossed legs in a purely seductive manner. She was clad in her favourite red robe.

She busied herself with painting her nails in the colour black with nail polish when she sensed a presence in her room.

"How come you don't knock?"

It was Wendy, as usual, leaning on her door frame.

"You never lock your door." Wendy made known, as though a warning.

"Cuz I am the danger people should be aware of." Luciana stood up, heading towards her bar to get a bottle of whiskey. She poured whiskey into two short glasses and walked towards her closest ally, Wendy, to offer one to her.

Wendy raised a palm to signify she didn't want.

Luciana didn't take it seriously but was a bit annoyed with the disapproval. "Well, why didn't you say it whilst I poured the drink?" she slurped the drink down her throat and took the other to bed.

She continued polishing her toenails.

Wendy's eyes pierced through her while she did so. "That's a new colour. Adds to the brightness." She glanced through her red room. Of course she meant it sarcastically. Attention rested on the black coloured nail polish.

Wendy was dressed in a black barret having her pigtails fall on both shoulders, she was wearing a brown sleeveless crop jacket; exposing her fine belly button and abs that were to die for. Her tight leather pants gave fitting to her ass, and although she didn't possess plus sized bosoms her beautiful face gave room for all the praises.

"So, what do we do now about the case?" this was from Wendy.

Luciana shrugged as she voiced, "Mm mm," she then paused polishing her nails. "Is it true?" She asked confused Wendy as she unconsciously remembered what Derex told her yesterday.

Flashback: "You know, you hate me so much. That's why you blind other's eyes so they'll feel the same way."

Derex then rose up to whisper in her ear, "Why do really hate my kind?" he then went to his bed just to bounce his body on it. He spoke with a sly smile, "You mayn't seem bored with your life, at least don't drag others with your belief."

"Is what true?" Wendy asked, perplexed, sending her back into reality.

She quickly waved the thoughts away. "Never mind. And where the hell is that detective!?"

High Council

Derex crossed his legs seated in a meeting held for dignitaries. He was seated in a high chair and the others in a long round table in his front.

This was far outside Red City.

It was an exclusive meeting for only persons in authority. It appeared Derex was the supreme of them all.

A man close to his sixties, tapped a small microphone in his front before asking, "Our Beta, we are pleased to have you here but we want to know, where is the All Alpha?"

Yes

Others echoed as they nodded in unity.

"Alpha Jacobb," pronounced Derex. Jacobb was a white beareded man and ranking not so high. Derex gestured his hand. "Please just go on and enlighten them on the history of our Alpha."

Getting the signal, Alpha Jacobb answered, speaking into the mic, "Well, it's an honour. In reference to past times, we weren't even allowed to know or even see the face of our Supreme Alpha,

*It's true* Some echoed.

"It seems we've misused that privilege and now have the audacity to question his humble servant; Beta Derex."

Derex just watched as they debated their opinions in an careful manner.

Another member of the court spoke, "Yes, Alpha Jacobb. We know of that and of the fact that it was just of recent he was revealed to us. He took care of many problems and now he isn't here anymore. We need him. Are you saying that the Alpha did not know what he was doing when he revealed himself to us?"

"He went without a word."

"Have we offended his highness?"

"What happened to the Alpha?!" A thunderous voice boomed demanding a reply.

Beta Derex finally decided to pick up a microphone, still at ease in his relaxing position. He refused to be put under pressure. "Members of the high court, thank you very much for attending this meeting,"

"—which we called for ourselves." Alpha Kieren interrupted. "You wouldn't have even addressed us."

Derex gave a sarcastic smile. "As I was saying. I am overwhelmed by your care for my Alpha, but I will like to inform you that he is on a spiritual journey,"

Many people started muttering.

"—and needs meditation."

Another member putting on a tall hat, voiced, "We are no body to question his methods but for how long will we be without a proper ruler?"

Derex informed, "You have a proper ruler. Me."

Everyone's face squeezed in confusion. "What?"

Are you assuming his position?

"Tempoarily."

"—as a Beta?" An iceberg landed the area and everyone turned to face whom had just spoken. It was Damon of course. The second-ranking Alpha. He went on in a seemingly nice tone, "I oppose. My presence will not be unnoticed. Everyone needs to vote properly. We are all servants of the All Alpha, aren't we? We will vote. Raise your hands if you want me to take over? "

A sisniter air twirled round and Derex stared at the gentleman in his front in a cold manner. It was obvious that the Alpha in his front posed as his only threat.

DEAR JULIETTA.
