17: The Split

So after the battle Rou and I just laid on the ground with heavy breathing discussing what just happened, I had to make up stuff about finding a quest from an old drunk man.

Pretty creative from me to be honest, I'm not quite ready to tell Rou the secret, but one day I think I will. "You really are dumb to just accept something like that from an old man, we could have died."

" Yeah but in a few seconds you'll feel the benefits." With a smile on my face I waited for the oh so sweet voice to appear.

*Congratulations, you have have completed the battle against the behemoth. Reward: 50 50 shared with Rou."

Then suddenly Rou felt a jolt of energy, his power was bursting far and wide, right now together with his immortal state he was a similar level to Axel before his demon transformation. Though he would still probably lose.

But now it's my turn, during that battle it was highlighted to me my durability was heavy lacking, as I was now I wouldn't last blow for blow with Axel.

So I decided on giving 20 SP to durability, maybe a bit to much, but I never want to be put in a situation where I can't defend myself or others.

Then the final 30 I would split into 20 and 10 the latter going to speed. I don't need to much on speed since I have skills like light manipulation to help me with speed.

So now my stats looked like this.

To be honest I regret not being able to assimilate with the behemoth, but I guess we move.

"Aries, take us out." "Wait who the hell is-"

Then the duo arrived back at the home being greeted by the screams of Aston. "Where the hell were you?!!! I thought our only weapons against Axel where gone!!"

"Hah, you though we would run away you little brat." Getting up I gave him a knock on the head, "We were on a training journey to get us right for the ultimate battle."

"So you both got stronger? Good, and you guys stink, also your clothes are torn." "You really want to get hit again right?"

"Well before you, I have a solution to both your problems, a shower, and we made both of you new mana enhanced clothing."

"Hm, your forgiven." Then Aston took us to the showers, Rou and I took our showers before getting our new clothes. But for a while I stared in to the mirror without my bandages revealing my opened lower face, I stared in to the mirror with fierce eyes remembering what that bastard did to me.

But I had to bottle it up, so instead I turned my attention to the clothes.

"Holy shit, I haven't worn drip like this since I beat the shit out of lance."

"Yeah they are pretty cool." We were in amazement of the clothes, I could feel the mana pulsating out of it.

Mine was a red and black long jacket with a rotated square in the middle.

While Rou got the same version just in a White and Gold colorway.

"He's really treating us right." Rou said staring into his new clothes.

They also fit perfectly, so we made our way out to meet Aston.

We found him on a chair sitting on it with his legs crossed sipping tea.

"Rou, could you leave me and Aston alone for a little." "Sure."

Turning back around he went towards his room. "Your related to him right Aston?" His eyes widened in surprise not wanting to say another word. A single sweat drop ran down his face.

"I need to know, tell me everything about him." For the first time he seemed uneasy, "And why do I have to." "Because if you don't know I wont fight for you."

Putting his tea down, he began to explain to me just who Axel is.

Axel and Aston are brothers, sons of a high class warrior of Danafor and his mother a healer. Though there mother was killed by one of the ten commandments who was sent to slay their party, only their father survived, then from then on it only became those three.

Axel, even if he is the oldest sibling, Aston was always more gifted than him from a young age. He would usually defeat his older brother, but Axel still loved him. To him he was the earth, moon, and stars. He reminded him so much of their fallen mother that he couldn't bare hatred to him.

Though his father saw it a different way, he hated the last born, it reminded him of his wife, the wife who left him. He was never the same after her death, he became ruthless and coldhearted.

He couldn't stand to see her face anymore. So he decided to take it out physically, he abused a child for looking like his mother, and however gifted he is he could not take out a full grown man.

His loving brother was sick of seeing this, sick of seeing his father touch his brother like that. So he went out seeking power, and power he found, he wondered on one of the ten commandments. Meliodas.
