Watch It Burn

Raze stood in the middle of the now-empty hall with a smirk on his face.

He had already collected all the dead bodies and put them in his inventory.

Just thinking about all the tower points and money he would earn by selling these corpses was enough to make him excited.

Usually, it's very hard to take items outside a floor or tower.

Due to the limited number of items a person could carry.

But that wasn't a problem for him with his inventory.

The more he used and learned about his ability, the more grateful he became.

Despite the limited combat applicability, it was the ultimate utility ability and would allow him to survive and thrive both inside and outside the tower.

But that wasn't the only reason for his excitement, as he had killed hundreds of goblins.

His first mana circle was finally saturated, meaning he could soon start working towards his second circle.

Most of the goblins he had killed didn't resist and were instead afraid of him.

Even the few who did try to fight back didn't have experience fighting or weapons, and they were also weakened by hunger.

As well as goblins not being in sync with their instincts and their naturally weak stats.

The scariest thing about goblins was their numbers and, exclusively for this floor, their intelligence.

Due to their numbers being significantly lowered and their intelligence not being useful due to fear,.

Obviously, all of this had been perfectly calculated by Raze to create this perfect opportunity for him to get an abundance of beast shards.

From the start, everything had been under his control.

Staring at the little unconscious goblin lying by his feet, he had to resist the urge to kill it.

The goblin was much smaller than even other kids.

Which told him about the tender and young age of the creature.

Even he could acknowledge that his methods were definitely very inhumane and too extreme.

After all, he had made the poor kid watch him massacre its entire village and family.

Raze had to suppress a laugh thinking about this, as it reminded him of all those Wuxia protagonists backstories.

He could just imagine this little goblin getting a system in the future and trying to avenge his parents in the future.

Finally, the laugh he had been suppressing came out as the image of the goblin with long black hair and fluttering black robes came to his mind.

The thought was extremely out of pocket and strange to him, yet it made him laugh.

But he quickly regained his composure as his eyes regained their usual cold, uncaring look as he grabbed the little goblin by the neck and exited the building.

As he left, he didn't plan to leave the settlement standing.

So he took a burning torch out of his inventory and observed the violent and fluttering flames before setting the wooden building on fire.

He stood there and watched as the highly burnable wood quickly caught fire.

Before it spread to nearby buildings.

Observing that the fire was working, he left the settlement, knowing that his job in the settlement was done.

He had killed all the inhabitants for their bodies and beast shards, retrieved his target, and then set the place on fire.

Thinking about it this way, even he couldn't deny it.

'Wow, I'm a terrible person'

Despite knowing this, he didn't seem to mind strangely enough.

As he left the hamlet, he turned around for just a moment to sneak one last glance at the burning village to remind himself of what happens to those without the strength to protect themselves on the tower.

The scent of ash and fire lingered in the air, and the temperature in the area rapidly increased.

It was only a matter of time before the fire burned the whole village and spread through the forest.

Smoke rose in the air, and bright orange flames erased buildings from existence.

It was a strangely melancholic sight, especially for someone like Raze, who had suffered greatly in the past due to these same flames.

Some very unpleasant memories from his past life resurfaced inside his head, but they were quickly suppressed.

One could even call it ironic how he had gone from suffering from fire to harnessing it's destructive powers to bring harm upon others.

But that wasn't something he wanted to think about anymore.

So he left the area, moving towards the area where he had left humans and goblins to fight.

He was quite curious about the results of the fight, but he didn't let his guard down in case he was forced into a position where he ended up needing to fight.

After more than 30 minutes of walking, he finally arrived at the scene of the battlefield.

And what he saw exceeded anything he could have imagined.
