Death in Paradise: Chapter 16

Jack arrived at an opening with a lot of rubble around the area and around 40 orcs and an ogre. He inspected the area and was a little hesitant to go against the ogre since from what the people that got hurt looked like he was way too strong. Nonetheless Jack called out his shadows and they exited the tree line they were in.

The moment they appeared all the orcs charged towards them. Hook took the majority of the army and engaged the orcs while Jack with Bellivir and Samson went to the ogre who had not even glanced at them.

Jack "Do ogres scream?"

When the ogre heard that leaving Jack's mouth it became enraged charging towards Jack. It swung what looked like an entire tree trunk at Jack but he jumped over the log. Samson then caught the trunk at the end of the swing, making the ogre distracted. Bellivir went under the ogre and cut its heels. The ogre was brought to its knees. It looked forward wondering where the tiny human had gone but when it saw the human he didn't look so tiny anymore.

It had a flashback from years ago when it was not under the parasites control. It used to just live peacefully and didn't bother anyone but one day a human found it. This human was not afraid of it but it seemed more intrigued. The human said something but it had trouble understanding him. Eventually the human left but two days later they returned. This continued till one day instead of the human there was a group of them with a spike that had a head on it. The ogre saw the head and became sad and angry. He screamed and slaughtered all the humans there. After that day he became labeled as a monster. One day a woman with tentacles instead of hair approached it and something shot out of her hand. After that all he could remember was that one memory.

Once its flashback ended Jack had punched its head and it went flying off.

Jack "Arise"

When he said that a giant shadowy hand reached out of the ground near the ogre. Similarly all around smaller hands clasped at the grass seemingly escaping for an eternal sleep. When they all fully escaped the darkness a loud roar echoed through the forest. Everything in the area shook and all the shadows kneeled at Jack's feet.

Ogre "My king."

Jack "What! You can talk!"

Ogre "Yes my king."

Jack "Then why can't the others?"

Ogre "I do not know but maybe it has to do with my strength."

Jack "That would make some sense but Bellivir is only one level below you…"

Ogre "Maybe he has to reach my level to be able to speak to you my king."

This agitated Bellivir who clutched at his greatsword getting ready to start a brawl with the ogre. Jack raised a hand and they calmed down.

Ogre "Please give me a name my king."

Jack "Hm, how about Dorry?"

Dorry "I would be honored by my king."

Jack "So do you know the layout of this facility?"

When he said that an imaginative map popped into his head and he smiled.

Jack "time to expand our forces!"

They soon headed down a stairway in the only building still standing in the area.

When they reached the bottom of the staircase they were greeted by a large army of orcs. They had some weapons but they held them very clumsy. Jack soon charged at them, destroying one or two heads with one punch. The rest of his shadows also charged and massacred the orcs in only 5 minutes.

They continued clearing out rooms of orcs and in some rooms Jack had come across various people that he remembered from the time he was in the forest.

The Dylan character that he had met was about to be injected with some fluid but Jack killed the parasite trying and Dylan fainted afterward not seeing Jack's face under his hood. All Dylan saw was a pitch black gauntlet with parasite blood all over it.

Jack then saw some orcs laughing around a man hung from the ceiling. This made Jack cringe since that would most likely hurt, and killed the orcs and got the man down. The man was asleep but woke up to the sound of orc footsteps charging towards him. Jack got ready and soon an army of 200 orcs was in front of him. Jack smiled a little, throwing his cloak off.

Jack "I haven't done any fighting solo in a while, might as well get some training done."

Afterward Jack charged at a group of 5 orcs and punched the ground causing a small quake in the area stunning the orcs nearby. Jack then punched their torsos, blowing them all into two pieces.

Jack then continued onto another group obliterating their heads causing blood to fly all over the room and him. Jack was wondering if he would get infected with the parasites by their blood but his magic eliminated it all quickly when entering his body. This made Jack even more confident causing him to go more wild. Blood and guts flew everywhere and Hugo who was in a corner behind Jack was stunned. He got scared of what that man was capable of and he shut his eyes putting his head in his knees. Hugo saw that smile that Jack had on his face and it reminded him of a group of murderers that he had once killed with his party. They were ruthless and always seemed to enjoy ending off lives as they pleased, almost like the god of death.

Jack soon killed all the orcs and made them into his shadows he now had a very sizable army and was wondering what he would do with them all but soon a gunshot sound entered his ear but it did after he had a gaping hole in his stomach. Jack became unsteady and nauseous. He tried to look for what had happened but another gunshot sound was heard, luckily Dorry and Samson jumped out blocking it. They seemingly scared whoever was doing that off as nothing else was heard. Jack soon fell over unconscious looking as if he was dead.

Dorry "Is it already the end?"

Bellivir "He won't die."

Samson "Indeed."

Hook "OOOOOOOHHHHH"

Gula was watching the stars with worry because she did not know what would happen in the future but suddenly a dark force enveloped everything, even the stars that shone so brightly they could light an entire galaxy. Everything became dark and she got scared.

Gula "Did the parasite queen free herself?"

Parasite Queen "What is this? A darkness that can scare me so much…"

She was also observing the stars when the same thing occurred in her vision. She was getting worried about the Seol fellow who was gaining strength at a much alarming rate but she did not think this was his doing.

Parasite Queen "I must find it and kill it before it becomes like that darkness."

Jack was soon looking at his torso in wonder. The hole that was there was now gone and he had returned to life. Jack sensed inside himself but found nothing when he felt a heartbeat that shouldn't have been there.
