Chapter 45 Baby boy

Tina enters Kayla's room and saw her breastfeeding her baby. "Hi," She greets her friend while making a funny face. "What's with the face?" Kayla asks. "You're not planning on doing that are you? How're you supposed to get another rich man if your breasts are sagging?" "I'm only interested in one rich man Tina."

"You mean the one that the whole hospital is buzzing about?" Tina asks. "The one and only, the doctors that deliver me are his friends and if it wasn't for the oath they took to save lives, they would've let me have this kid by myself." Kayla snorts. "They all blame me for what happened to him." "Oh please, don't mind them, it will sort itself out but if they did let you have your kid by yourself at least we could sue them and get some money." Tina laughs.

"You know it, but unfortunately they take their jobs seriously and as for the breastfeeding, I'm only doing it to shut them up," Kayla explains. "He's not Ty's child so I don't know if I'll be keeping him, I don't know a damn thing about taking care of a child."

"Okay, so coma boy isn't the father, do you have any idea who the father is?" Tina asks. "Not a damn clue, I've called Jake and Steve and told them that I had the baby and they're both coming in to be tested, so I'll just have to wait and see." "What about Brandon?" Tina asks.

"That fucking thief. He clean me out, he took everything of value I had, even my car, I can't believe that fuck, I hate him." Kayla fumed. "Ok then, it's a pity though that coma boy isn't the father, damn girl, you would've been set for life." "Ain't that the truth, but I'm not giving up just yet, I still plan on having his child one day," Kayla said proudly.

"What's this you were telling me about Brandon cleaning you out?" Trisha asks entering the room. "He did, he took everything, my car, my jewelry, my money, everything Trish, everything," Kayla said angrily. "Why would he do that?" "How is she supposed to know that?" Tina snaps at Trish. "Was I talking to you bitch?" Trisha asks scornfully. "Don't hate me cause you ain't me." Tina drawls. "He has been taking care of you all this time so why would he do this?" Trisha said scratching her head. "When you figure it out, let me know," Kayla replied without looking at Trish.

Fifteen minutes after her friends left Steve walks into her room. "Well, hello there sweetheart, congrats on delivering a healthy baby boy. Unfortunately, he's not mine, so now you'll have to pay for lying to me. Know that little saying- there's a thin line between love and hate?" He asks coming close to her face. "Well, you're about to find out just how fucking thin that line really is." He said in a cold deadly tone.

Martin braced himself when he saw his wife approaching him, she had banished him to the guest room and she hadn't had sex with him since Kayla dropped her bombshell and from her appearance, he could tell that she was still very angry at him. "Um…hi…baby, what're you doing here?" He asks nervously as she stops in front of him." "I heard that Kayla had her baby and I'm here because I want you to be tested." "Tested? For what?" He asks confused. "I want to know if you're the father of that child." She said firmly.

"For God's sake Susan, I didn't have sex with her; she kissed me, that's it." "I don't care who kissed who, what pissed me off is the fact that you conveniently kept it from me when we were supposed to have been in this together." She said coldly. "Baby I told you at the time I didn't say anything because I thought she was grieving. I thought that she was just forced to kill her unborn child, neither of us knew she was lying, I just thought that she was lashing out." He said taking a file from a nurse.

"So I just brushed it aside but I didn't have sex with her, you have to believe me." Susan snorts and shakes her head. "You want me to believe that the only reason you kept it from me was that you thought she was grieving?" She asks folding her hands across her chest. "That's the truth baby."

"According to you but I think you were very happy to play the hero, to be the one she turns to; considering how far you went to break her and Tyler apart." Martin was about to protest but the expression on her face stops him. "I don't know what really happened between you and that twit and I don't think I ever will but at least I'll know if you fathered her child."

"Baby this is really not necessary." He said nervously as she glared at him. "Don't you think for one second that you're going to get out of taking this test, we're going down to the lab right now; am I making myself clear?" She demands. Martin sighs heavily and run his hands over his face as Susan took the stand of a commanding officer and stare him straight in his eyes.

"Am I making myself clear?" She asks again through gritted teeth. Martin knew better than to argue with her when she was like this, he also knew he didn't sleep with Kayla even though he wanted to; very badly and came very close to because she was very willing at the time but he didn't because she had just went through an aborting, she got angry at him and called him a gutless coward and had drifted away from him and seen how things have turned out now, he was ever so glad she did, he had nothing to worry about, so he gave in. "Okay baby, I will do whatever you want." He said with his head down. "As if you had a choice," She sneered in disgust and walks towards the lab.

"Come on little brother please wake up; you can't leave us, you have to fight, come back to us brother please." Fabian pleads massaging Ty's hand. "Doctor Wilson said that considering what caused him to collapse in the first place there's a chance he may not want to wake up," Caleb said sadly from the other side of the bed as his mother said her goodbyes to their church members.

"He was so depressed from his last breakup that he had to be placed on suicide watch and if that was so hard for him how's he going to deal with the fact that Kayla killed a child that could've possibly been his?" Sandra asks. "But she said that the child wasn't his," Anna said. "She doesn't know that for sure, she didn't have a test done to prove that and a part of him will always wonder if that child was his," Fabian states angrily. "He will get through this because he has God on his side and a very strong support system," Janice said resting her hand on Fabian's shoulder.

"And you," Fabian said smiling down at her, just then Miss. Alice enters the room with Faith who was currently screaming at the top of her lungs. "I'm sorry Miss. Janice but I can't seem to calm her down." "That's okay Miss. Alice, she probably knows that something is wrong with her uncle Ty." She was about to take Faith outside when Fabian shouts, "Wait, his finger just twitch, he moves his finger!" "It's true, I saw it too," Caleb adds.

"Maybe he can hear Faith crying." Mrs. Mellissa said hopefully. "Well when Faith starts crying Tyler comes running," Caleb laughs. "It's been that way since Faith came to the house," Anna adds. "Bring her closer," Caleb suggests and Janice did, she place Faith next to Tyler's head as the child continues to scream.

One of the other doctors heard the child crying and steps inside the room to see what was going on. "Hey doc Tyler heard Faith crying and he moved his fingers," Fabian said with joy. The doctor walks towards Ty and was about to check his vitals when Ty moans and twitches his fingers again. "Oh my, this is a good sign indeed, it's obvious he can hear the child and he is trying to respond, I'm going to get doctor Wilson, continue to do what you're doing it might be just what he needs to wake him up." The doctor said running from the room. Later that night all four of his grandparents went home with Miss Mona but Miss Alice remained at the hospital with Faith and the rest of the family.

The following morning Tyler's eyes flutter open as he slowly regains consciousness, at first he couldn't tell exactly where he was but as his eyes adjust to the light he recognized his surrounding, he turns his head slowly to the side and saw his family and friends all sitting in chairs in various parts of the room, he tried calling out to them but no words came out, his chest felt heavy and his head was pounding like crazy.

He was trying to move his feet when he notice Janice sitting next to his bed with her head resting next to his thigh. He slowly move his hand and touch her cheek which causes her to jump and open her eyes which immediately flew to his face and saw him looking back at her.

"You're awake! You're awake, everyone he's awake," She shouts drawing everyone's attention. He tried to remove the tube from his nose but his hands were too weak, he tried to speak again but his throat felt as if he had just swallowed sand. "Don't try to talk; you're going to be okay," Fabian whispers.

"Give him some water," Miss. Mellissa said rushing to her son's side. Janice put a straw in the bottle and places it in his mouth and he took small sips. "Fa… is…. Cry…ing." He said softly. "Where….is …. Faith?" He asks gasping for breath. "She's right here," Miss Alice Said bringing Faith closer to him.

"Hi….. my…sweet…little muffin." He lifts his hand and touch her little fingers and immediately the child began reaching for him. Miss Alice sat on a chair and place Faith on the edge of the bed, Faith smiled as she reached out her little hand and touch his cheek. "Da…da," She coos and continues smiling. Faith's words drew gasps from everyone in the room and brought tears to Ty's eyes. "I love you muffin." He said as tears ran down his face. "Alright everyone please step back I need to examine him," Doctor Wilson said also smiling.

Ten minutes later the doctor stands up and smiles at the family. "Well he's going to be fine, his pulse is still very weak but there's no sign of brain damage, we'll have to keep him here for a few days for observation but on a whole, I would say he is extremely blessed." "What about his heart?" Fabian asks. "His heart took a hard hit but with a few days rest he should make a full recovery." The doctor said in confidence. "Thank you doc," Mr. Steven said shaking the man's hand. "Don't thank me, thank God," He said and laughs.
