Fabian tapped his fingers on the steering wheel as he waits for the traffic to begin moving again. He, Amara, and their twins were on their way back from the supermarket where they bought all the ingredients for the massive Christmas feast his extended family were about to have.
Ever since Caleb's actions had caused Maya's death he had noticed a solemn and withdrawn change in his wife. He had also been putting off talking to her about it, hoping it would subside on its own but he now realized it wasn't going to because currently she was staring straight ahead, lost in her own thoughts.
He couldn't put this off any longer, he was going to have to face this problem head-on. So taking a deep breath he tried his best to find the right words to soothe her worries. "Um…angel." He calls trying to get her attention but she didn't budge.
"Angel." He calls again and she blinks twice before turning to him. "Hm." She whispers looking behind her at the kids. "What's bothering you, angel?" He asks in a soft tone. "You've been very apprehensive since Maya's death." She bites her lips and wrings her fingers, her eyes focus on her lap but she said nothing.
"Talk to me angel, what's going on with you?" He asks more firmly. "I….I…was just thinking, Caleb is your brother, your blood, you all support him no matter what and you all have the same freedom, space, and opportunity as he does, especially you and…." She trails off but he pushes her to continue.
"And?" "Well seeing as though you had cheated on me before…." "You're wondering if I'm following in my brother's footsteps?" She nods but said nothing. "Okay, I get why you would think that but first things first. When I cheated on you we weren't serious and your parents were really giving me a hard time."
"But you've been coming home late for a couple of nights now." She said softly without looking at him. "Because Christmas is in three days angel, I'm just trying to get everything done and I have three or more of my cousins with me at the gas station each night so no angel, I'm not cheating on you, and yes I love my brother and will always support him but I'll never make the same mistake he did, my family with you means a lot to me, I'll not jeopardize that." He says firmly.
"I'm not going to lie to you angel, there're a lot of temptations out there and I can see why it was so easy for Caleb to cheat as arrogant as he is." Fabian snorts. "Are you tempted to cheat now?" "Yes, but after seeing firsthand just how devastating the consequences of cheating can be, let's just say there's no way I'm going down that road."
"What Caleb did hurt a lot of people but it also taught all of us a very valuable lesson, even he will think twice about cheating again. So please don't worry, I'll never hurt you or my kids okay." He reassures her. "Okay." She said with a small smile. "Besides you keep me satisfied. Morning, noon, and night, there's nothing I could get from someone out there that I can't get from you." He chuckles. "you mean that?"
"Yes, so please stop worrying, I'm all yours. Now on a different note, have you given any more thought about hiring a full-time nanny for the new year?" He asks inching the car along in the traffic. "No need for a full-time nanny, I'll be raising my kids." She replied.
He came to a sudden stop behind the other car which cause his vehicle to shake. They both glance at the kids and then at each other. "Sorry, but my work-a-holic wife say what now?" He asks in disbelief.
"Sorry to blindside you like that but yeah, I'm handing in my resignation letter in two days." "Why?" He asks still in utter disbelief. "I want to stay home and raise our kids and seeing as though Anna has already decided to learn as much as she can from your mother, Janice and I have decided to do the same.
I mean your mother could use the help, so why not, we could learn so much from her, Janice will be graduating soon, so that's another course finished, so a few months after she gives birth, she can join us in the kitchen." She said with a bright smile. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He asks. "I've given it a lot of thought, and yes, I'm sure." "Alright then, you certainly have my support." He said smiling at her.

"Congrats," Janice whispers in Jared's ears as he leans against the railing looking out over the sea of people gathered on the lawn. He turns and faces her with a wide smile. "Thank you." "So, what made you take the leap?" She asks biting into her roast corn.
"Well, you know what Beyonce said, if you like it, then put a ring on it, and I like, I like very much." He said with a seductive smile. "I mean, look at him. How can I not make him mine? Besides I had a feeling that if I didn't, I would lose him." Jared sigh.
"Not a chance." "Really, that guy could get any man he wants, he's a lot like you, sex on legs, he's the main focus of attention everywhere he goes and he's too damn irresistible for his own good and he's mine, all mine." Jared smiles biting his lips.
"I'm very happy for you." She laughs hugging him. "I'm very happy for me too." He laughs.
