Chapter 143 perfect Husband

Two nights later Caleb storms through his best friend's open door with an angry growl. "Oh boy, what now?" Alan asks slowly closing the door and then turning to his very angry friend. "I'm totally fucked, that's what now!" He fumed. "Alright sit," Alan said and walks from the room. He returned moments later with two ice-cold beers.

"Okay spill, did you kill Edwards and leave evidence that can lead the cops right back to you, and now your poor mother is going to have a stroke when you're arrested?" Alan asks taking a sip of his beer. "I wish I had killed that prick but no, I only set him back a couple thousand by throwing a brick into his windscreen, but don't worry, I'm only getting started and it's because I don't want to give my mother a stroke why I just agreed to a double wedding." Caleb groans.

"Wait, what!?" Alan asks choking on his beer. "You heard me, my mom and dad just shoved me into a double wedding with Fabian." "And you let them?" "What the fuck was I supposed to do huh? They said that my grandparents are all flying in for Fabian's wedding and it would be unfair to ask them to do it again in a few months for mine because they're so old and all." Caleb sighs.

"When did this happen?" Alan asks. "When I came back from Atlanta and well Maya has been on cloud nine since then and my parents, they couldn't be happier." Caleb snorts. "I mean they keep asking me if I was sure about this and I wanted more than anything to scream no but the looks on their faces, I just couldn't man, what the hell am I going to do now? The last thing I want is to get married right now. How the fuck am I to get out of this? Fake my death?" He asks raking his fingers through his hair.

"Fuck no, that will most certainly kill your poor mother." Alan laughs. "Then what am I going to do man!" "Alright just breathe for a sec. Now tell me, do you love this girl?" "Yeah but not enough to marry her right now!" Caleb screams in frustration."

"Alright,, so how does your brother feel about sharing his day with you?" "Oh, he'll be honored. His words, not mine." Caleb said rolling his eyes. "Alright then, I guess there's only one thing you can do." "And what will that be?" "Go through with it." "What?" Caleb barked.

"Alright hear me out before you take me out. Your grandparents can't travel often because they're very old but look at it this way, your parents aren't getting any younger either and their goal is to see all their children happily married before they leave this earth."

"My parents aren't going anywhere man," Caleb said in a cold tone. "We as children all want to believe that but the reality is, we're all going to die one day, we just don't know when, where or how, now I say, give them what they want, be a good son, make them happy

"And what? Spend the rest of my life playing the happy husband?" He snorts in disgust again. "When you're home and around your parents, yes, but when you're not, then your life is yours to do whatever the hell you want, screw whomever you want, and after, you pick up a bunch of red roses and go home to your wife. The women out there or the one at home, none the wiser." Alan said leaning back on the sofa.

For a few minutes, Caleb said nothing, then after taking a deep breath he nods his head. "Alright, if it's a perfect husband they all want, then a perfect husband they'll all get." He said with a wicked smirk.
