CHAPTER 2

"Shade do you mind if I steal April real quick?" "Of course, today's class is done anyway, I have some things to get done for tomorrow's ball." Shade claimed. Spring gestured to come with her into the back garden to go for a walk. "So, I'm now gonna tell you what the secret was for the ball," Spring said.

Finally! Everyone is making such a big deal about it, but clearly, I'm always out of the loop. "So…. You know how I and Ray are getting married next week right?" I was getting impatient, where is she going with this, yes, of course, I know that, who doesn't.

They took months to plan the wedding. "Yes of course! What does that have anything to do with the party there already was a ball for that a couple of months ago?" "And after mom and dad give the crown to the next king and queen, someone needs to take the crown, and that time is coming soon April, we are going to be announcing the day of the coronation for me and Ray tomorrow."

I knew this day was coming but to be honest, I never really wanted it to come. I've always been that little sister who would look up to her big sister and just think about how perfect she is, and I've always wanted to make her proud.

I've seen my parents be king and queen, and they try their hardest to spend as much time with their family as possible, but sometimes they always seem to be busy. They have weddings to sing at, council meetings, which are the royal family kings and queens, and more stuff.

Watching my parents having so many responsibilities made me realize that I won't be able to hang out with Spring as much anymore. "Oh, that's great to hear. I'm sure you're gonna be an amazing Queen." I said with the best fake smile I could muster.

"I know what you're thinking April. I promise you will never lose me, we'll always be there for each other. You will always be my top priority, and you're my family, I would never choose anything over you. Plus we still will have dinner and parties together." I guess she was right. I wouldn't lose her completely. "Ya, that's true," I said with a lopsided smile. "How about, you show me what you are gonna do with your hair tomorrow night?" Spring suggested.

I could tell she was trying to make me feel better but I couldn't stop thinking about the bad side of this. I and Spring began to walk up into my room. I sit down at my vanity while she sits on my bed. I grabbed my comb and start to brush out the tangles in my light brown hair with blonde highlights.

I braid a strand of my hair and attached it to the rest of my hair. I took it into a low side ponytail and rested it on my shoulder. I took the ends and curled them. "You're so beautiful April." "Says you, you're the most perfect girl in the entire kingdom. Stunning looks! Powerful and strong! Not to mention the perfect love life." I exclaimed.

"That's only from the outside, and the strong magic is from years of hard work," Spring answered. All of that was a lie even her personality is beautiful. "Come on, that power of yours is off the charts! You saw the photo mom and dad showed us. The one of your enchantment evaluation?" I questioned. "Ya, I remember.". "My power doesn't even compare to yours." I pouted. "Maybe, but you're still strong," Spring exclaimed, trying to make me feel better. "Come on, you've seen your score on the evaluation," I said.

The enchantment evaluation is a test you take when you are born. It shows you how much power you will gain as you get stronger. Since you were just born your power is still at its max, but by the time you turn 1, your power is concealed and you will have to harness your power by yourself.

Some people get to their max and others don't, but some people only train until they reach the power development stage where you get your Divine Charm.

The Divine Charm is a Jewel connected to a wearable item. Mine is connected to a necklace. It holds the power that you have harnessed and turns you into your transformed fairy form.

It makes you ultimately stronger when you are not transformed, of course, you can still use your powers if you're not transformed, but when you do transform you become stronger. Inside of your charm is a Flairy, a type of magical creature that keeps your power under control.

A Flairy also helps you transform into your full potential, but your Flairy chooses when it can come out to meet you. The first sentence you think of when you first get your charm is your sequence sentence. "I know I am, but you're just stronger," I answer. I look back at spring and she has a sad look on her face and I walk towards her and put a hand on her shoulder. "You ok?" I questioned. "Ya, I'm fine," Spring said with a smile that I could tell was forced.

"It's getting late April, you are going to want to take a bath to rinse the curls out of your hair right? I'll see you tomorrow morning April, goodnight" Spring said. "Goodnight." With that, she walked out of my room. "What's up with her?" I wondered. She is right I really should go take a bath. I grab my pajamas and headed towards the bathroom. I start the bathtub and run the warm water. Taking off my clothes and locking the door, I sat in the tub and thought about some things. I wonder what my friends were doing right now.

Oh, and what are they gonna wear? Knowing Autumn he'll probably just wear something simple and orange. Winter is totally gonna wear something elegant and snowy of course. As I let the warm water overtake me, I hear a buzzing coming from the sink counter. Someone was calling me. I get out of the bath and grab a towel.

I walk up to the counter to grab my watch. I look down at the screen and realized that Autumn was calling. He always likes to call me at night. I love calling him, but his timing for today kind of sucks. I laughed. I answer the phone. "Hey Autumn, what's up?" I said as I sat back into the bathtub.

"Hey April, I'm doing fine, how was your day?" Autumn questioned. "I mean it's ok I guess, Oh! found out what the party tomorrow is for." "oh do tell, what is it?" Autumn questioned, also curious to find out what the party is for. "My sister and her fiancé are announcing their coronation for the crown at that party and to be honest, I don't think I'm ready to be apart from my sister. I'll just miss her too much." I admitted.

I was ashamed that I don't want my sister to get the crown, she deserves it. I just really would hate to drift away from Spring. She's always been a big part of my life. "April, you down for a horse ride?" Autumn asked, snapping me out of my daze. "Always, I could never say no to a horse ride." I smiled, still thinking about the party tomorrow.

I hung up the phone knowing Autumn would be at the castle in less than 20 minutes. I run out of the bathroom and got dressed.

I snuck out my room window and into the back garden where it was a fast way to get to the stables. I saddled Blossom for the second time today, I got her ready, taking her attention away from her dinner.

"Hey, April!" Autumn shouted from a distance. "Hey!" I yelled back. Autumn flew towards me on his horse and stood next to me. I got up on my horse and started walking. "How was your day Autumn?" I asked, attempting to get my mind off of Spring and her coronation.

"My mom and dad got into another argument tonight. I could hear them all the way from my room." Autumn said sadly. I felt really bad for him, I would hate it if my parents were always fighting.

"They'll get over it don't worry, but for now if you really want a break just call me and I'll come to get you." I smiled sympathetically.

Luckily, going from Spring to Autumn wasn't very hard. There is a gate at the front of each Season leading into an area that leads you to the other three Seasons' doors. The weather doesn't apply to your Season though, so it's your job to use your power to keep yourself from melting or freezing because of the temperature.

That's why people who don't have their magic developed yet do not leave their Season or they leave with someone else.

In the middle, there is a forest around the outside of the middle if you visit the middle of the forest you will find a big school named Season Division Academy. It is a school for very strong fairies, but to get in you'd need to take an evaluation trial to see if you're strong enough to attend. That school is very strong because of what they do, of course.

I'd be strong enough to join, and so are all of my friends, but if we go, there would be so much attention coming towards us, that's why we don't go to any school, even the ones in our own season. "April look!" Autumn exclaimed. "Huh?" I wondered, I look at Autumn to see what's so interesting. Autumn got off his horse and ran into a grassy field with beautiful resiums. I jumped off my horse and joined Autumn.

I and Autumn were just dancing in the field. I got dizzy so I fell down on my back laughing. Autumn sat down next to me and looked to his right. "Here April," Autumn said. I look at Autumn and see him holding a resium, giving it to me. "Thanks, Autumn I could really use this for my herb table, I have a healing herb exam tomorrow afternoon, so that'll help," I answered.

We laid on the grass and stared at the beautiful night sky. "I think it's time to go back home. You think you'll be ok to go back Autumn?" I asked. "I'll be fine, but I think I'm gonna stay here for a minute. You go." Autumn said. "Alright, goodnight," I said. "Goodnight April," Autumn exclaimed.

Slowly I walked off the field and I could have sworn I heard Autumn mumble something under his breath. "I think I like April," Autumn mutters. "What did you say?" I questioned. "Nothing!" Autumn yells. I brushed it off and hopped back onto my horse and rode back home.

I tried to think of what Autumn could've said but didn't hear any keywords. Honestly, that was all I thought about on the ride home.

I put Blossom back in her stable and walked around the garden. I needed some alone time again. "How was your ride?" Clarity said. I jumped. I could have sworn I was alone "Gosh Clarity, you scared me, don't ever do that again." I said, still holding my chest where my heart was beating like crazy.

"You know you're not supposed to sneak out but as your best maid friend, I'll help you out. Just like always." Clarity smirked. I am very grateful for Clarity, she's so amazing. Clarity has been there in my life ever since I was 4. Her parents have been a part of the Spring Castle for so long so once she was old enough, her parents brought her to the castle to hang out with me, and by the time she turned 11, she became my personal maid. "How was your little ride with Autumn?" Clarity smiled.

"It was fun, he found some resiums," I responded, holding out my hand with the flowers. "Aw, those are cute." Clarity said as she watered some of the flowers. "You should get inside, it's getting dark, and just say you were outside in the garden with me." Clarity exclaimed. "Ok thank you Clarity, I'll see you later, goodnight," I said I walked around into the castle and I went off to bed.
