Chapter 4
“This is Not a Love Story?” Quinn had asked, curious.
Skylar’s eyes had danced as he looked down at the novel in Quinn’s hands. “It may not be a classic or a work of art, but the story, I don’t know, it just completely pulled me in and hasn’t let me go since. I don’t really have words to describe it.”
Quinn had to agree with Skylar on that point, but even though he had bought the book and read through it in a matter of days, it wasn’t the story that had stolen his heart so thoroughly.
By the end of that month, Quinn had filled up a whole shelf on his once barren bookcase with literary greats and Skylar’s recommendations, and had become a regular at the small bookstore. Rayne had laughed when Gwen told her of Quinn’s new hobby—he had only found out she worked in the bookstore on his fifth visit when she came out the back—and given him the knowing eye when she mentioned Skylar.
