The Only Thing I Am Guilty Of

Planning to have a night out and a sleep over at Yu Yan's place, I packed my things inside my duffel bag.

After my endless rants at dinner four hours ago, Mom and Dad didn't changed their minds about sending us to that stupid province and my siblings didn't even helped me protest.

"Why would you send us to that ancient house anyway? Is it Christmas already that you wanted a reunion or what?" I sarcastically said.

"No, Huang Jia. But I have three reasons to send you there," he showed me his three fingers.

"Number one, isn't it nice to be with your extended family for some time?" he asked.

"Hell, no! I'm not even close with them!" I replied.

"Well it's the time for you to be," I just groaned at his defense.

"Number two, it's also nice to have a getaway from the city and be engaged with nature rather than the walls of this place and shopping malls,"

"Nature?! What will I do with nature? And My God! Are you telling me I will be caged in that house for weeks?!"

"Number three, I know you'll throw a house party once we're away and I won't allow it. The last time you did, the mansion turned into a disaster!"

I groaned for the nth time. He really does know me huh?!

I turned to my two siblings who were just watching me go crazy right here. I gave them a help-me-look but they just shook their heads and minded their own business.

"Oh great!" I stormed out of the dining area and went back straight to my room.

I wanted to sleep but when Yu Yan texted me goodnight as soon as I was in my room, an idea popped into my head.

Now that it's eleven in the evening, I assume everyone's already asleep or at least in their own rooms. This is not new to me anymore.

When I became eighteen last year, I started becoming more and more rebellious. Mom and Dad barely let me have night outs so there are times that I sneak outside to party. It was easy but the hardest ones is how I can avoid and lure our guards near the gate.

Meters away from the guardhouse, I hid myself in a big, tall tree. Just enough for me to reach the ends of the wall.

When my feet successfully landed at the concrete ground, I smiled. I started walking at the dark streets as I texted Yu Yan.

Me: I'm having a sleepover at your place. Be there at two AM :D

Yu Yan: Sure but why two AM?

I smiled evilly. You wouldn't like this, my friend, but first, I'm going to party.

If there's nothing I could do about being sent on that province, then I'll make most of my time here. I won't waste any time sulking on my room so instead, I'm going to party and shop for the next three days.

Neon lights feasted before my eyes as I entered the city's most wild and high end bar. I smiled and went straight to the dance floor.

I took a shot glass from the waiter who passed by and drank it. My face soured.

"Vodka," I made a yuck sound since I never really liked the taste of that liquor.

I took another one and drank it. I then started to bounce with the music as I danced in the middle of the crowd.

"Woohoo!" I screamed as I felt a warm body dance against my back. I danced with him and the next thing I knew, I am very drunk while kissing the man. I have no idea where the hell we are but I assume we're still inside the bar since the loud music is still evident in my ears.

"Hmmm, wanna go somewhere else, Huang Jia?" the man asked me in his deep, husky voice.

"Hmmm," I chuckled and nod in response but before he even pull me with him, a familiar, cold hands dragged me outside the bar.

"Whaaat? I'm not yet even done having fun, whoever you are," I blurted.

"We're going home now, Huang. Enough of partying, it's already three in the morning!" Yu Yan's familiar voice lingered in my ears. I couldn't open my eyes properly so I can't really confirm if it's really her.

"Ohhh, Yu Yan, it's you! How'd you know I was here?" I hiccupped in between my words.

"Ling sent me a picture of you making out with that guy!" she sound frustrated.

"Huh?" I looked around to find Lin, my ex-fling but I only got dizzy so I stopped. "I was making out with Ling?"

Yu Yan groaned. "No, you idiot. I said Ling sent me a picture of you making out with-"

"Hold that thought," I immediately cut her off when I suddenly had the urge to puke. I criss-crossed my way to a near bush and puked. Yu Yan was immediately behind be, collecting my hair and patting my back.

"Gross! Don't ever make that sound again!" she commented as soon as I was finished. She handed me a bottle of water and suddenly, the familiar white SUV appeared in front of us. A familiar fine-looking man also came out from the driver's seat.

"Oh, why is it Yu Yan's brother also known as my boyfriend," I walked towards him to give him a hug but Yu Yan abruptly pulled me inside the car.

The next thing I knew is I was now lying in my best friend's comfortable bed. "Hmmm, it's way much more comfortable here rather than in the old house's creepy bedroom," I said.

"But seriously? I'm gonna be caged in that house for two hellish weeks? Sure it's more good news than Zhen's orphanage but still!" I continued ranting.

"What are you saying?" Yu Yan, ridiculed at my words, laughed.

"I'm saying is, I can't party and shop in two hellish weeks. There's even no Wi-Fi in there so I'll probably get bored to death.

"Just sleep, you drunkhead,"

Waking up, I found myself crumpled on the cold concrete ground as my hands were tied with thick rope and in a complicated knot.

Memories of last night was a complete blur to me since I ignored to store it all up in my head. I didn't want to look back because from the very start, I know I was the one who started this complete chaos.

I know my selfish desires led me to where I am now. Most probably, my men and my friends are abducted like me too.

I can't move. I was like a stupid worm, trying to walk on the cold ground but can't either way because my legs wouldn't function well.

I grunt, I twist, I forced every single muscle I have to squeeze myself out of this rope and even though I trained myself whenever this kind of situation occurs, I failed miserably.

It was as if they knew that I am the dangerous kind. Not the typical girl you would successfully abduct easily. Like I said to myself form the beginning, I would succeed if I haven't let my emotions conquer me so easily.

But then look at me, here I am now in the palace's den, all wrapped up in a sturdy cord, all so helpless and alone.

I continued to try and escape but then I heard rustles and footsteps from my far north. I looked up, hoping to see what was beyond the bars of steel. My line of vision is just from the legs of the chairs sitting from outside since I am lying helplessly.

Judging by those black leather shoes, and the clinks of bronze and iron, I already knew who it was and even if it was just a mere speculation, I couldn't feel anything but rage and desire to kill.

"You did a great job, back there," the familiar baritone said sarcastically.

I did my best to stretch my neck so I could be able to see his face. I made sure my orbs are transparent from the beasting rave I am feeling within me.

"I will kill you," with gritted teeth I said.

With that being said, he just scoffed, unthreatened by my words. I couldn't fathom how much I didn't think of this day would ever come. He is an enemy from the very beginning and I should have reminded myself that more often.

"Being killed by you is not my option," he said.

Hearing those from his lips, I tried to be aggressive. Like a beast ready to devour on his prey. The only difference is I am a slave to these ropes wrapped around my wrist.

With unfathomable rage, I looked at him, leaving his words hanging on a tightrope. But at the back of my mind, like I naturally do, I am already killing him. I am already being pleasured by his blood being stained on my weapon.

I have committed many crimes in this lifetime but just talking to him is the only thing I am ever guilty of.

"I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I tagged this book, come and support me with a thumbs up!
