Chapter 42: In or Out?

After the confrontation at the birthday party, Kade was bombarded with questions from his concerned members. Knowing the party was now over, he made arrangements for Nick and Angie to being me home while he dealt with the never-ending questions. By the time he had gotten home, I was asleep, and in the morning, he was gone before I woke up. He was no doubt out trying to organize everything to meet the Garzone family’s request.

It was about two in the afternoon, and to say I was getting restless for Kade to come home and update us, was an understatement. While I was trying to remain hopeful, I couldn’t shake the feeling something was extremely off about all of this. I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it was, but I had this negative feeling in my gut. The deal could be a complete sham, and things could stay the same. But if the deal was actually happening and it was safe to return home, that left things with Kade and me up in the air.
