It's early in the morning and I've woken up by this annoying text message.
'Are you up?'
You gotta be kidding-
"UUGHHHH!!!" Not him again.
'What is it?' I replied.
'I'm outside.'
"YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME" I groaned in frustration but stopped after looking at Bruno.
He's still sleeping...lucky.
I quickly brushed and tied up my messy hair into a bun, wiped my face, and used mouthwash.
I looked into the mirror and saw the horror on my face.
I look at the clock and it was still six-thirty in the morning.
I balled my fists and silently screamed in my head.
I've counted how many times this dude woke me up in the morning just to disturb me with questions that I answered over and over AND OVER AGAIN.
I breathed in deeply before opening the door and there he was.
I took out the keys from my pocket and opened the gate to let him in.
It was too good of a morning for his ruin. The sun is bright, the clouds are pretty, and the cats roam around and play with each other and some just chilling in the front garden. It's just too good.
He didn't even say 'good morning' or apologized for waking me up...
well even though I haven't told him that he disturbed me BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT HE CUT MY SLEEP SHORT.
he enters the gate and directly asks. "What was my assigned task again?"
I breathed in deeply.
I took that deep breath as my life depended on it.
I smiled and try to calm myself down. "It's the first part of the project."
I already said this to him for the fourth time!
He paused for a bit. "Oh. Okay."
"Wait" I call back. "Jasper. Can you uhm...just text me OR call me when asking questions like this?" I tried to ask. Maybe it's just too much of me to ask for that?
"Ok." He plainly said and then he left.
Just like that!
"This was the fifth time already" I said in frustration.
I hear tipping and out came bruno with a sock in his mouth which made me smile.
I sighed. He's just what I need.
"Good morning, Bruno." I said and petted his head, removing the sock from his mouth.
"Hey, Caroline."
I frowned to the maximum as I heard his voice again.
I forced a smile and turned around to see Jasper, holding a cigarette in his hand. My brows furrowed. He's still sixteen and he smokes. He's gonna develop serious health problems of he keeps that up. Seriously...that's slow suicide.
He regularly smokes in his house, with his friends, with my neighbor Aaron who's also a classmate, with some other teens from the next neighborhood, and some gangs in the other town.
He wasn't like this before but moving to another country made him this unlikable.
Or maybe I'm just to judgemental...maybe I am.
Yeah, I am.
I've known him for more than ten years and it is a shocker that the more I know about him, the less I thought I did.
"You could've just texted. Remember?" I said, now annoyed. He does this all the time now.
"How much was the pay again?"
"Around 10 dollars. I already sent this to our group chat five times." I said, now a little upset as I look at him smoking.
"Alright. I'll send it to you later."
"What about the pictures for documentation? You said you'd sen them to me. The summary for the other project, when are you gonna do it?" I asked.
"I don't know. I'm kinda busy today."
"How about you just do it right away so that you can do everything after that." I advised him.
"I have stuff to do at the house this morning." He said, flicking the cigarette butt on my garden grass which made me more upset.
"In the afternoon then." Now I was more assertive.
"I'll be sleeping in the afternoon." he said.
I was so shocked by that reply that I was speechless.
I was at loss for words.
I never ever heard a more dumb excuse in my life.
