Hanzo of the Salamander

The birth of the three Sannin was the event I was waiting for. Sure the fall of Uzushiogakure was important for personal reasons but the reality was without the personal touch it would not be something I would be overly involved in. Sure corpse hunting would be an event but before that trip to Konoha hospital all those years ago I had no plan to become so… involved.

When I was born in Naruto I was excited. When I found I was a Hyuga I was excited. The reality of that quickly changed my mind, but after dealing with that woman I plotted, I wanted revenge, I wanted to become more.

This little monologue has a point so bare with me.

I did manage to become more. My importance in this world can't be denied whether as prince Zuko or Ren, I was important. With my ever increasing power and my god given gift I had slowly realized I could stand above all. The megalomaniac obsessed with controlling the world, the edgy A hole kids fulfilling destiny, and the extremely powerful bastards who could crush me. They all had me as an equal now whether they liked it or not.

I know, I know that seems a bit conceited.

Hear me out though.

Me and Tsunade were walking immortal tailed beasts. With proper motivation I could create thousands if not millions of more like us. I could change history by simply killing Kushina, hell just any of the main cast could be killed whenever I damn well felt like it. History itself could no longer stand the swing of my hands without changing as I saw fit. This very war was no longer like the original. Konoha and Kiri were ally's for heavens sake.

Looking back I should of noticed I slowly became numb to the idea of making changes. That change in mindset was never supposed to happen. I never wanted to change my timeline beyond certain points. If I'm honest with myself I simply wanted to survive, nothing more nothing less.

Who cares if the world burns? Some idiots would save it and as long as I lived it was enough. I mean sure who doesn't dream of being the greatest. I may not remember all of my previous life, but I know it only happens for that one in a million individual. With my first few years here I assumed I was not that one in a million. That my system was merely the pity granted from a higher power. I genuinely believed that.

It all changed, it all went my way, I was somebody now. I had started to think I was blessed by the higher power now. This was my world. So becoming more and more involved in my world came naturally. Killing the Kazekage should of been my wake up call. It wasn't though, as I figured the Third Shinobi war was set in stone and his death really didn't matter. Arrogance is bliss apparently. I'd forgotten this was a real world.

Not every single piece would adapt to my presence and allow me to do as I please. History was not set in stone. The years I spent bowing down to the concept of fate in reverence to Grandma Mito had blinded me to the fact she was no longer here. The man no longer had any big pieces to fear so it was only natural he would adapt to the piece that was Prince Zuko and Senju Ren.

Hanzo of the Salamander was a good chess piece.

The creator of the three Sannin was by far a different type of animal. It would be a disservice to call the man a beast considering he had fought three monsters of their era to a standstill. He of course let them go and gave them a title so they would be humiliated. At least that how the story goes, in my mind it was simply an excuse to run away while still saving face. That thought process is why, by sending Tsunade in her current form, I assumed this time he would really just flee and the title of Sannin would no longer exist.

Well I have truly learned what a mistake it is to assume. As I appeared on the battlefield I was momentarily stunned by the sight in front of me. Hobbled over with gruesome bloody gashes that were bone deep laid Jiraya. As I took a closer look at his face I realized blood was covering his right eye. What lay where that piercing blue eye used to be was merely a bleeding gap that seemed to have been hastily burned to cauterize the wound. The fact he was still alive was truly a testament to the mans tenacity and ridiculous willpower.

Orochimaru on the other hand was not faring any better than his idiotic counterpart. As opposed to Jiraya he wasn't littered with wounds. There was a rather major difference however. His left arm was missing from his torso. His right ear and a chunk of his nose were also noticeably bleeding from the areas where they were supposed to be. The amount of missing body parts were not a large concern but the fact the man looked like a light breeze would blow him over and his feet were sunk knee high into the water of pool below him. Well it became clear he was completely spent and barely had the chakra to keep himself standing.

Tsunade's situation was by far the best of the lot compared to the rest of the group. Well that may only be true in physical appearance. She was currently locked in melee combat atop Hanzo's salamander. As she traded a flurry of blows from kunai against scythe, the impacts thundered like a storm. Not even a few seconds later she took a massive cut to her abdomen that instantly healed. Tsunade had been forced to use Creation Rebirth. Her full strength was becoming largely useless as every wound she inflicted on Hanzo healed very much in a similar manner to hers.

At first I thought Hanzo had hidden some insanely powerful healing jutsu away that even a transmigrator like myself had no knowledge of. I naturally didn't have much time to think on the subject as I rushed to treat Jirayas injuries. With out a save file of the man I had to rely on using actual healing jutsu which I couldn't perform mindlessly. Especially with the extent of his injuries. Even after his injuries were treated and he became stable I then had to deal with the additional need to remove the poison in his bloodstream. That's when I noticed the peculiar fact that Jiraya of all people was not talking. In his one good eye I saw nothing but a glazed over pupil. Jiraya had pulled a Rock Lee and was in the fight while being unconscious.

During Jiraya's treatment Orochimaru had managed to limp his way over. As soon as I finished with Jiraya I began his treatment and transferring chakra over as stably as I could with all the tremors in the area.

"Where's your arm? I'll reattach it."

"It's in the beast. I don't think there's any retrieving it anymore. Just give me basic treatment and help Tsunade or you may be a widower soon."

"Tsunade can handle it. I'll get you back in fighting condition in no time."

"No she can't. I'm not sure how her jutsu works but she's definitely using far more chakra to heal then he does. Honestly I don't think he uses any at all."

At those words I remembered there was in fact several beings with a healing factor in Naruto. One in particular who liked to meddle in wars. Big bad Madara may have made a move or the even more annoying man behind the man, Zetsu.

As I gazed at Hanzo's porcelain skin it was clear. One of those two had extended his hand to the current God of Shinobi and created a monster that truly exceeded the current era. Hanzo the Salamander had Senju Hashiramas DNA transplanted into him. The current peak of ninja had become something completely unrecognizable. Is this what they mean by the same animal but different beast?

I'm back!

Sort of.
