-Thursday - Afternoon-

Today was another normal day, and after lunch my friends and I went to Viaduct Courtyard for some relaxation time.

And sitting on the stairs in front of the large doors that led into the castle, my friends and I began to talk about the events of the last few days.

"Hmm, so you're going to the ball with Megan" I commented, looking at Stephen who was scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Yes, I asked her yesterday and to my surprise she accepted" he said, and even though I was nervous I could still feel that he was happy.

"So does that mean you like Megan?" Anthony asked, and Stephen turned to him with wide eyes.

"What!? N-no... I mean, I don't know..." he started to respond, looking away, "I just think she's really cool, she likes sports like me, she's funny, energetic, pretty, and also..."

And while Stephen was talking about all of Megan's good qualities, the other boys and I exchanged amused glances.

"Yes, he is definitely in love with her" Michael said, and no one disagreed.

And hearing this, Stephen fell silent, his cheeks flushed.

"But well, if we're talking about love we can't forget our silver star" Terry said, looking at me with a mischievous smile.

"Are you talking about me?" I asked confused.

"Uhum" he nodded, "Aren't you going to the ball with Luna?"

"Yes, but as friends" I replied.

"Of course, as friends..." he said slowly, a knowing smile on his face.

And looking at his smile I frowned.

And turning to the other boys for support I saw them looking at me with the same smile, and I felt a vein pop on my forehead.

'Let's see if you'll keep smiling when you have frog heads' I thought, getting ready to pull out my wand.

However, to my sadness and the luck of the boys, the twins arrived at this exact moment, accompanied by Ron.

"Ethan, my dear companion, you need to come with us immediately" George said, with a look of urgency.

"Huh? Why?" I asked, but still got up.

"Because, my dear scary friend," Fred began to say, putting his arm around my shoulder, "Our little and famous lion is about to become a man."

"Huh?" I looked at him without understanding, and Ron, who was behind his brothers, approached.

"They mean that Harry is going to ask Hermione to the ball right now," he said, and my eyes widened slightly.

'Finally!' I thought, before turning to the three Gryffindor brothers.

"Well then what are we waiting for? Let's go guys!" I said, and with an excited look I started walking, with one goal in mind... To see the birth of the golden couple.

And the three Weasley boys stared at my back as I walked away with blank stares.

'''Is this the scary, proud boy who defeated and tamed a dragon?''' they wondered.

-In the Quidditch Pitch Training Area – A little later-

"Should we really be doing this?" Ron asked, looking around nervously.

"""Shhh""" and Fred, George and I silenced him, focused on the scene that was happening in front of us.

The three of us were hiding behind the stands, looking from afar at Harry and Hermione, who were facing each other while having shy and nervous expressions.

From what the boys told me, Harry was the one who called Hermione to this place so he could ask her to the ball, but from Hermione's expression and her feelings I knew that she had the intention of asking him too.

And the funny thing about it all is that even with all the obvious signs, none of them seemed to notice that the feelings they had for each other were reciprocal.

"Look at them, acting so shy and cute" Fred cooed.

"They grow up so fast" George said wiping away a fake tear.

"Yes, and I remember it like it was yesterday when they were just two little first years impressed by the wizarding world," I said with a proud look on my face, "And now here they are, just a few steps away from changing their futures by going to ball together"

"Oh yes, the incredible and wonderful ball..." Fred nodded, before looking at me.

"Huh?" I looked at him confused.

"You know Ethan, Ickle Ronnikins here told us about how you helped and encouraged Harry to ask Hermione to the ball," Fred said, and I could hear the tone of accusation in his voice.

"Well, I just did what any good friend would do," I said innocently, and the look in the twins' eyes showed that they obviously didn't believe me.

"Yes…" George said slowly, "And this has nothing to do with a certain bet, right?"

"Gasp... How dare you suspect me of doing something like this just because of a bet?" I said with an indignant expression.

And the twins' only reaction was to stare at me dryly.

"Sometimes your shamelessness impresses me" Fred said.

"Thank you" I smiled.

"That wasn't a compliment"

"Hey, can you three be quiet? They're starting" Ron said, looking at his two friends.

And turning to Harry and Hermione we saw that he was right.

"Uh, well…" Harry started to say, not knowing how to start the conversation, "You came."

"Of course I came, you called me" Hermione said, smiling wryly.

"Oh yes, that's true" Harry laughed nervously as he scratched the back of his head.

An awkward silence then fell over the two of them, while Harry was undecided as to whether he should look at his feet or at Hermione.

"So... the weather is cold today, right?" he said, and Hermione snorted slightly.

'Great way to break the ice Harry' she thought, looking amused at her awkward crush, 'But I think it just makes you even cuter' she smiled affectionately.

And when Harry saw her smile, he froze momentarily, mesmerized by the girl with thick brown hair in front of him.

"Huh…" he said eloquently, and behind the stands I wanted to palm my forehead.

'I feel like I'm watching one of my Aunt Abigail's romantic comedy films' I thought, sighing while shaking my head.

"Hmm, doesn't Harry seem pretty nervous for someone who's only going to ask the girl he likes to the ball?" George commented, rubbing his chin as he looked at the black-haired boy analytically.

"You say that as if that wasn't reason enough to be nervous" I snorted.

But I couldn't deny that there was some truth in George's statement.

Harry didn't just look nervous, he was also tense and scared, and I could hear his heart beating rapidly.

And in addition to these feelings, I could also feel a powerful feeling that surpassed all others and that grew stronger every second... the Love.

'Wait, don't tell me...' I widened my eyes, realizing that what was about to happen wasn't just a boy asking a girl to ball.

"Wait a minute, I need to do something" I said to the boys, before hurriedly taking off the suitcase that was on the chain around my neck.

I then increased the size of it and opened it, and from inside it I took out a simple mirror.

"Sirius Black" I said to the mirror, and after a few seconds of waiting Lord Black's face appeared in the mirror.

"Hey Ethan," Sirius greeted me cheerfully, before seeing my serious look, "What's wrong?" he asked worriedly, and I just turned the two-way mirror towards Hermione and Harry.

"It's happening," I said, and I could hear Sirius' surprised gasp.

"Finally!" he exclaimed excitedly, before looking back, "Hey Andy! Dora! Come here!" he called.

And then I heard some footsteps coming from the mirror and then Andy and Dora's voices, and after they got closer I heard them gasp in surprise too.

"Oh Merlin, so it's today" Andy said with a twinkle in her eye.

And in the background I could hear Dora calling Kreacher and asking him to bring her a bucket of popcorn.

And meanwhile Ron was looking at us strangely, not understanding what the commotion was about, while the twins who seemed to have understood what was happening were looking carefully at Harry and Hermione on the Quidditch pitch.

End.
