Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I continued looking at the fallen Hungarian Horntail for a few seconds, realizing that all of her fierce and frightening aura was gone, being replaced by tiredness and feelings of disappointment.
She was no longer able to fight, and knowing this I turned, passing through the dragon still held by chains and heading towards the improvised nest that was behind her near the other end of the enclosure.
Arriving in front of this nest I saw several dark gray dragon eggs, and I could feel life coming from these eggs, which made me frown.
'Did they really leave the real eggs here? What if one of them broke?' I asked myself irritably, remembering that in canon some Mereo's eggs were crushed in her confrontation against Krum.
'Well, at least no eggs were destroyed this time' I thought, somewhat relieved.
But shaking my head and putting these thoughts aside I looked back at the eggs in front of me, but ignoring the dark gray eggs I focused on the single egg that was different from the others.
A big and detailed golden egg, which was the true objective of this task.
'All this stress and work just to get a fake egg' I thought, shaking my head with an ironic look.
Then I approached the nest and took the golden egg with my hands, feeling the magic enchantments and runes on it.
'That's a job of enchantment well done,' I thought, with an admiring nod.
And the moment I held the egg in my hands everyone in the stands started applauding and cheering, since with the egg in my possession and the dragon defeated I had basically completed the first task.
But I didn't want it to end like this, and I had one more thing to do, so I started walking towards the Horntail.
The black dragon was recovering very slowly, but that was enough so she could look at me while letting out a slight growl.
Stopping at in front of the dragon's face I crouched, looking at her at the bottom of her eyes.
"Why is he getting close to the dragon?" I heard Bagman's confused voice.
"Shouldn't he be leaving the enclosure?" a middle-aged wizard who was in the stands asked
"Yes, he already completed the task" his friend said, grimacing slightly, "Didn't he?"
And most of the people who were looking at me in front of the dragon also expressed their confusion, with no one understanding what I was doing.
And those who knew me were also confused, but already accustomed to my strangeness they remained silent, looking at me curiously.
And not paying attention to the words of the people outside the enclosure, I raised my free hand, bringing it closer to the dragon who was a little cautious, but as she was still restrained she couldn't do anything other than let me touch her.
And as soon as I touched her I opened a connection between the two of us using my Beast Talk.
'I think you're calmer now, right?' I relayed to her mentally, receiving a slight grunt in response.
And through the connection I could feel that her feelings of anger and hatred had greatly diminished, and the only thing she felt when she looked at me was surprise and a little fear.
'No need to be scared, I don't intend to hurt you' I looked at her as I ran my hand over her scales, 'I only fought you to make you recognize me as an equal... In fact, I want to be yours friend'
And hearing my words in her mind and feeling my true feelings through the connection, the Horntail began to look at me thoughtfully.
"And why do you want to be my friend?" she asked me.
'Why wouldn't I want to? You are an incredible, fierce, and magnificent dragon' I smiled at her, and I could feel some of her wounded pride being restored at my words.
"You're a strange human... In fact, I don't even know if you're really a human" she said, and I could see images coming into her mind of our confrontation.
These were her memories of when I released my magic and summoned the chains, and from her perspective I seemed much more frightening, powerful and dominant.
And that was the way she saw me at that moment along with her feelings of apprehension and shock, and it made me realize why she was scared of me.
'Well, I don't know if I'm a normal human either,' I said, shrugging, 'But that doesn't change the fact that I really think you're amazing. I respect you, and you are a beautiful and strong creature, and I would like to be your friend'
And conveying these words of mine I began to convey my feelings to her, making it clear how serious I was being.
She then continued to look at me for a while, and I could feel her feelings towards me change again.
Now she looked at me with respect, satisfaction and even joy.
"In that case, then I will do you the honor of being my first friend" she said, and I snorted in amusement, feeling the honesty in her words.
'Thank you' I said smiling.
I then looked at her, seeing the chains still binding her in an obviously uncomfortable manner.
'Well, I can't leave my new friend in this situation, right?' I thought to myself as I stood up.
And then I snapped my fingers, and the chains binding her cracked before breaking, disappearing into bright blue dust.
"What he is doing!?" someone from the stands exclaimed in fright.
"Why is he releasing the dragon?! And why is he standing in front of it?!"
And in the stands where the students were, my friends looked at me in shock.
"Don't tell me he wants to fight the dragon again?" Sue asked with a frown.
And hearing her question, our friends looked at each other, knowing that this was very likely.
"Huh? Did you free me?" the Horntail asked, standing up with a bit of difficulty, looking at the disappearing chains around her in confusion.
"Now you're my friend... I couldn't leave you trapped by these chains" I said in her language, "And besides, I trust you, and I know you won't hurt me... Not that you could "
And listening to me, she narrowed her eyes at me, and I just smiled, making her snort.
But I could tell she was satisfied.
'A tsundere dragon' I rolled my eyes in amusement.
"But well, I guess we'll have to end our conversation for now" I said, "But don't worry, I'll come visit you guys tonight"
And saying that, I prepared to leave the enclosure, to finally complete and finish the first task.
But before I could leave I heard the black dragon's voice.
"Before you leave, I would like to make a request of you." she said, and I looked at her curiously.
"What request?"
"Could you give me a name?" she asked, and that made me blink in surprise.
"Do you… Do you want me to name you?" I asked.
"Yes. I don't have a name, and you gave one to the other dragons," she said, and I was sure that if she were a human she would be pouting right now.
"Heh, okay" I smiled, before looking at the dragon that was standing to her full height in front of me.
I had already thought of a name for her, and now I was ready to name her.
"From today onwards you will be called Hela, in honor of the Norse Goddess of Death, the ruler of the kingdom of the dead!" I said in the language of dragons, making it clear from my tone that this was a powerful and incredible name.
"I am the great Hela!" she exclaimed proudly, rising to her full height with wings spread and roaring into the sky.
And this roar immediately scared everyone, who began to wonder if the dragon had gone out of control again.
When Hela finished roaring she sat down again, before bringing her face closer to me.
"Oh Merlin! It will eat him!" Professor Sprout said scared.
"Someone do something!" a housemate of mine shouted.
However, what happened next silenced everyone in the stands.
Hela, contrary to what they expected, didn't try to devour me or anything like that.
In fact, to everyone's surprise and even my own, she bent down and looked me in the eyes, before lowering her head, bowing to me.
"Thank you for being my first friend, human Ethan Night" she said, and I could feel her emotions and feelings towards me.
And feeling her respect, admiration, happiness, and appreciation I smiled softly.
"And thank you for agreeing to be my friend, Great Dragon Hela" I said, running my hand over her head, seeing her smile satisfied.
And in the stands, everyone looked in shock at the scene of a boy petting the fiercest dragon in existence that was bowing to him, feeling that their common sense was being shaken.
End.
