Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been a week since my conversation with Sirius, and in between those days I had sent a letter to the Flamels, who were the influential people who could help us with the political part of my plan to exonerate Sirius.

I sent them a letter, but I couldn't explain much in it as it was a complex subject, so we arranged to talk properly over Christmas break when they come to visit my family.

I planned to take Sirius with me, but I obviously couldn't be seen leaving the castle with a criminal or even a big black dog, as everyone knew my pet was Nyx, who is a cat.

But I remembered that I didn't need to take Sirius out of the castle for him to come to my house, there was a very easy way to get past all the castle's wards and security that didn't specifically involve leaving the castle grounds.

And I'm obviously talking about the Vanishing Cabinet, which I now had one more reason to want to fix.

Now I just needed to explain the situation to my parents, who I'm sure would help and support me, as they know I wouldn't do something stupid or trust some random criminal so easily.

And probably the person who would be most excited about this situation would be my mother, since as a lawyer, seeing an injustice like Sirius' arrest happening is something she despises, and obviously being able to cause some trouble for the wizarding ministry would leave my mother a little excited.

But now changing the subject, yesterday was Full Moon, which meant Professor Lupin wouldn't be teaching us today, but Professor Snape would be.

I wasn't too excited about this class, as I knew it would only come down to Professor Snape giving us an essay in an attempt to reveal to us that Professor Lupin is a werewolf.

But in fact that might not happen, as Professor McGonagall has had her eye on the two of them since the incident with Neville, and also since Sirius didn't rip up the Fat Lady's portrait, Professor Snape will have no reason to try to get Professor Lupin out of the school on suspicion that he was helping Sirius infiltrate the castle.

Well, I just hope my time in DADA class isn't wasted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-DADA Class-

When I entered the DADA classroom the first thing I noticed, and that didn't surprise me, was that the one waiting for us was Professor Snape.

"Oh no" Lisa said unconsciously.

"What is he doing here?" Anthony whispered to me, and I just shrugged.

I then went to one of the seats at the back of the room and sat down, with the boys looking at each other, looking at Professor Snape, and then following me.

"Is it just me or does Snape look a little happier than usual?" Terry asked sitting on my left side.

When he said that, Anthony, Stephen, Sue and Lisa all looked at Professor Snape, only to find him looking at everyone with his cold, indifferent black eyes, sometimes narrowing in disdain.

''''Is that happy for you?!'''' was what they thought.

And unaware of my friends' thoughts I looked carefully at Professor Snape.

'Hmm, he really is happier' I realized, narrowing my eyes and getting a bad feeling.

"Urgh, damn it" I heard someone groan in desperation, and turning around I saw that Ron had just walked into the classroom with Hermione following him.

And I didn't even need to read his thoughts to know what he was thinking.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Ron, who was grimacing, asked in a whisper to Hermione, who was looking around confused.

"I don't know" she replied also whispering, going to sit with Ron following her, never taking her eyes off Professor Snape, "Where's Professor Lupin?" she asked.

Ignoring the rest of their conversation I started to look at Professor Snape, hearing the bell ring, signaling that class had started.

Professor Snape then looked around the room at all the students, stopping his gaze on Hermione and Ron, noticing the lack of a certain member of the trio, causing a slight cruel smile to appear on his face.

He didn't say anything to us and just stood in front of his desk like he expected something, and I think I knew what he was waiting for.

"Sorry professor, I'm late because..." Harry, who walked through the door panting, started to say, but his voice trailed off when he realized that it wasn't Professor Lupin who was waiting for him, "What are you doing here?" he asked.

And if it were possible, Professor Snape's satisfied and vengeful gaze grew even stronger.

Professor Snape then explained the reason for his presence here, teasing Harry as he did so.

He also didn't forget to mock us and criticize Professor Lupin, talking about his terrible teaching skills.

When he was done with his little drama he grabbed one of the books off the table he was leaning against.

Flipping through the book, he flipped to the last few pages, and I immediately felt a sense of déjà vu.

"Everyone, turn to page 394 of the book, today we will be learning how to recognize if someone is a werewolf" he said in his silky voice, and I could feel the anger and revenge coming from him.

'Fuck' I thought, wanting to palm my forehead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I should have known that Professor Snape wouldn't be mature enough not to try to get revenge on Professor Lupin at some point.

At least the class was still a little interesting. Petty vendettas aside, Professor Snape really is a good DADA teacher, better than a Potions teacher at least.

But moving on...

After the DADA class I went to the Room of Requirement since I had the rest of the afternoon free, and there I found Sirius reading a book with a bored and annoyed expression.

Sirius was still thin and pale-faced, but now he was wearing real clothes and not rags, and he was clean, and he didn't look as depressed and tired as before.

It seems like having a quiet, comfortable place to stay, good food to eat, and knowing that more people knew about Pettigrew's betrayal and were willing to help him took a huge weight off his shoulder.

As Sirius was bored, as soon as he saw me he asked me about my day and what was the news and new gossip running around the school.

Ignoring the funny part where Sirius seemed like a gossipy neighbor, I told him about my day, my classes, and I told him about Harry. I also talked about Snape's class, and his only response was to growl angrily while muttering Snivellus.

He, like me and anyone with a functioning brain, realized what Snape's intention was when he passed this homework to us.

But as he knew he couldn't do anything against Snape for now, he just sat back with an annoyed huff.

Seeing that he was thoughtful, probably thinking of ways to hurt Professor Snape without being discovered, I took the damaged Vanishing Cabinet out of my suitcase, planning to fix it.

And to my surprise Sirius offered to help me as soon as he realized what kind of cabinet this was.

Apparently he knew how to fix the Vanishing Cabinet, since he learned it from his uncle Alphard in his daily magic and politics lessons when he was a teenager before he was disowned.

And as I still had to attend classes and Sirius was bored we agreed that until Christmas break he would be in charge of fixing the cabinet with Dobby's help.

And I was happy with this arrangement, as now I would have more free time for other projects and studies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Next Day - November 7th, first match of this Quidditch season-

"How did you guys convince me to come watch this match in this weather?" Lisa asked with a pissed off look, trying her best not to get hit by the falling rain, covering herself with her cloak.

"Come on Lisa, it's the first match of this school year! We have to watch it" Anthony said excitedly as he covered himself with his raincoat.

"I want to die" and this was Terry, who was shivering from the wind and rain, which had already soaked through his clothes.

"I thought you guys would give me a better birthday present than making me come here" Lisa said, and then she thanked me when I used the {Impervius Obice} spell to create an umbrella-shaped barrier for her.

I then did the same for my other friends who didn't have a raincoat or umbrella, not making one for myself as the cold and water didn't bother me, actually I even liked it.

"Oh, don't be a killjoy" Anthony rolled his eyes, "Your present is going to be something else, and besides, we already prepared your surprise party before we came here" he said, and we all immediately turned to face him.

...

...

...

...

"Oops?" he said, cringing at the looks he was getting from us.

"Urgh... Next time we'll remember to silence Anthony for the rest of the day, okay" Michael palmed his forehead, and this time no one disagreed with him.

"Hmm, was it supposed to be a surprise party?" Luna asked looking at me, and I nodded in affirmation, "So in that case Lisa shouldn't know about it, right?" she asked innocently, and Sue sighed.

"Yes Luna, she shouldn't," she said, and Luna looked confused at us before looking at Anthony with her head cocked in confusion and thought.

"You're weird," she said, and Anthony grimaced before lowering his head, accepting that fact.

'Is this a bad time to say that I already knew about this surprise party?' Lisa wondered, but looking at Anthony who was being scolded and remembering that he was the one who forced her to come watch this match in this rain she simply shrugged her shoulders with a gleeful smile.

End.
